Abstract: when investigating the school institutions of sergipe, the presence and characteristics of textbooks at the beginning of the twentieth century were examined. thus, based on a literary and documentary search developed from the perspective of cultural history, the objective was to identify which textbooks had been integrated into the school institutions, then analyze the materiality of the documents, identifying characteristic features of the school institutions of that period through an analysis of the content of the textbooks.
Celebra??o do civismo e promo??o da educa??o: o cotidiano ritualizado dos Grupos Escolares de Sergipe no início do século XX
Azevedo, Crislane Barbosa;
Revista Brasileira de História , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-01882011000200007
Abstract: the institution of grupos escolares (elementary schools) at the beginning of the twentieth century in sergipe represented a considerable transformation of the organization of public teaching. in this article it is sought to understand the daily functioning of these institutions through the identification and analysis of different school and civic events that occurred in the grupos. based on bibliographic and documentary research carried out from a historic perspective, it can be seen that the different ceremonies present in those schools, as well as moments of the legitimation of primary school in society, were converted into moments of the celebration of civism due to the propaganda of the constituted authorities and the diffusion of the ideal of the civilized nation.

This article examines a training process of History teachers based on the promotion of research in education, as well as the importance of part of the supervised work activities being developed as research. We start from the basic assumption that teacher-researcher training is necessary and viable. Based on a bibliographic research, we discussed the theoretical orientation of educational research with emphasis on ethnographic research, as well as with practical directions in defining the locus of the research (training field school) and in the elaboration of research projects by undergraduates that focus on History teaching. The beginning of research on school everyday during the initial teacher training is a relevant condition for the promotion of a reflective teacher. We found that through a proposal for an educational research-based teacher training, the future teachers experiment the place of participants of a knowledge that builds and rebuilds itself at every moment and understand the complexity of their field. However, this training proposal is filled with challenges. Nevertheless, the results prove to be positive, such as the promotion of collective reflection and learning in schools where they work still during the

Abstract: Read and understand the world in basic education: teaching History and use of different languages in the classroomAbstractThis study is devoted to reflection on the incorporation of different languages for the teaching of history. This meeting of shares in the basic education assumes the feasibility of promoting a history teaching based on research practices. To develop this study was conducted historical research on the teaching of history in Brazil and about the production historical, sociological and philosophical on the specificities of different languages (music, film, photography, television, literature, etc.). The pursuit of knowledge from a learning process linked to the initiation of research due to the requirement of knowledge about the languages used in the classroom, contributes to a significant learning of the student, because this provides the knowledge to read and understand the world around him. The changes of the historiography world, pioneered in history to work with new objects, new sources and from new problems. However, it takes the field on new languages and sources brought to the classroom for the teaching of history does not come at the expense of loss of specificity and solidity that should mark the historical knowledge.
Palatini approach to modified f(R) gravity and its bi-metric structure
Janilo Santos,Crislane de Souza Santos
Physics , 2012, DOI: 10.1063/1.4756822
Abstract: f(R) gravity theories in the Palatini formalism has been recently used as an alternative way to explain the observed late-time cosmic acceleration with no need of invoking either dark energy or extra spatial dimension. However, its applications have shown that some subtleties of these theories need a more profound examination. Here we are interested in the conformal aspects of the Palatini approach in extended theories of gravity. As is well known, extremization of the gravitational action a la Palatini, naturally "selects" a new metric h related to the metric g of the subjacent manifold by a conformal transformation. The related conformal function is given by the derivative of f(R). In this work we examine the conformal symmetries of the flat (k=0) FLRW spacetime and find that its Conformal Killing Vectors are directly linked to the new metric h and also that each vector yields a different conformal function.
An Overview of the Homeschooling in Brazil: Analysis of Its Principles and Attempts of Legalization  [PDF]
Luciane Muniz Ribeiro Barbosa
Open Journal of Social Sciences (JSS) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/jss.2016.44029
Abstract: Homeschooling is a kind of education that is growing. The goal of this study is to review issues used against attempts to legalize homeschooling in Brazil, which have brought up questions about what the right to education is. It presents some themes and concepts of the New Institutionalism Theory in Education as an attempt to relate them to the debate that goes around the growth of the homeschooling movement in different places as well as a context connected to the “concerted cultivation” concept. Thus, this paper suggests that emergence of homeschooling in Brazil is not associated to the school choice movement, but to the growth of concerted cultivation and represents for the country a movement with strong political implications.
Food and sociability on the contemporary Brazilian plate
Etnográfica , 2010,
Abstract: the main purpose of this article is to explore the relationship between food and sociability. although this is a theme often approached in anthropology, the true role of food in this relationship is seldom made explicit. based on three different empirical researches, the article identifies the kind of sociability that is established in each meal in accordance with the day of the week, indicating for each case the degree of relevance assumed by food itself. following the daily sequence of the different meals - breakfast, lunch and dinner -, the data presented allows for the discussion of the definition of sociability as developed by simmel and its application to the context of brazilian society.
A especificidade do estético e a raz?o prática em Schiller
Barbosa, Ricardo;
Kriterion: Revista de Filosofia , 2005, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-512X2005000200008
Abstract: this paper examines a recurrent problem in friedrich schiller's thinking: the unity of reason in the autonomy of the main forms of rationality. it is here analyzed in the context of schiller's correspondence with the prince of augustenburg in 1793 and of the essay "the moral utility of aesthetic manners". the purpose of the paper is to discuss this problem from the perspective of the connection between the aesthetical sphere and the practical reason. according to schiller, taste would be a necessary condition of freedom.
Educa??o e desafios da multiculturaliza??o: uma pedagogia da sociedade civil
Barbosa, Manuel;
Cadernos de Pesquisa , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-15742010000300016
Abstract: the progressive cultural complexity of contemporary societies in the wake of the extraordinary acceleration of mobility and of people's movement across state frontiers is creating enormous challenges for cohesion and living within those scenarios, and requires, in a framework of respect for fundamental principles of democracy and human rights, urgent and appropriate responses. the governmental agencies, through policies of social and cultural anti-discrimination and redistribution of goods and services, are necessary to the design of these responses. however, they are not sufficient to induce social esteem by cultural strangers, especially the newcomers to economically more stable and advanced countries. the esteem for culturally different persons is essentially dependent on a change of attitudes and behavior and these can only evolve into more friendly forms of cultural differences with the contribution of civil society through pedagogy of example focused in new values, new attitudes, new visions and new behaviors. the purpose of this text, analyzing and reflecting on this issue, argues in favor of the educational role of civil society in the organization of life in common between cultural strangers and it proposes, with some detail, the broad lines of pedagogy that redefines the educational agenda of civil society in multicultural contexts.
Afinal, o que querem as mulheres?
Barbosa, Livia;
Psicologia Clínica , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-56652011000100003
Abstract: in brazil and the world, women have advanced considerably in various sectors. this breakthrough came when in the pursuit of equality. however, research suggests, this advance and gave no's as you want. although they are as entrepreneurial as men (and in some manner even more than them) have an average years of schooling increased, more and work with self-esteem are high, the distances to be overcome are still considerable. moreover, they are still aiming for an ideal romantic partner, marriage for life, children and family. in this context, the question title seems out of place, with the difficulty lies precisely in response, since it does not legitimize these men "want", and not prepared to show the point of choosing a partner who will be the same. given the autonomy of our desires, born of internal dynamics of the genre to which we belong and conditioned by society and the changes that occur in it, perhaps the more appropriate question is: "after all what we men and women want today?".
