Ibuprofen-Maltodextrin Interaction: Study of Enantiomeric Recognition and Complex Characterization  [PDF]
Claudia Garnero, Carolina Aloisio, Marcela Longhi
Pharmacology & Pharmacy (PP) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/pp.2013.41003
Abstract:

The interaction between ibuprofen and maltodextrins with different dextrose equivalent was studied in solution and solid state in order to investigate the effect on the solubility of ibuprofen and to determine their usefulness in terms of chiral recognition. Apparent binding constants were calculated using nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy experiments and solubility studies. The results showed an increase in the apparent solubility of ibuprofen in the presence of maltodextrins that depended on their ionization state. The freeze-drying method was used to prepare solid complexes, while physical mixtures were obtained by simple blending. These solid systems were characterized in the solid state using differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, Fourier Transform-Infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffractometry. Detailed nuclear magnetic resonance studies provided evidence of the influence of the type and concentration of the maltodextrin host on the chiral recognition of racemic ibuprofen, indicating that these linear ligands act as chiral selectors.

Reading the world as a literacy practice: A teacher's reflection
Chapetón,Claudia Marcela;
Colombian Applied Linguistics Journal , 2004,
Abstract: this article attempts to share with the reader a reading club program that was developed for a group of adults in situation of displacement in bogotá, colombia. it is framed in the context of forced internal displacement which is a critical social situation our country has been suffering lately and it is somehow, shaping our current, local teaching practices. the reflections presented in this article are focused both, on the critical theories of pedagogy and on my experience as teacher researcher in the creation and development of a reading club at "red de solidaridad social", bogotá.
Significado de la Paternidad en Adolescentes Varones del Sector Sur-Oriente de Santiago
Cruzat,Claudia; Aracena,Marcela;
Psykhe (Santiago) , 2006, DOI: 10.4067/S0718-22282006000100003
Abstract: this study aims to reconstruct fatherhood meaning in adolescent males, its sources of influence and its relationship with the personal experience. a qualitative descriptive analytic-relational design was used, based on grounded theory (glaser & strauss, 1967), using semi-structured interviews, with a sample of 40 adolescents (20 parents and 20 non-parents). the main results and conclusions show that adolescent fatherhood is a topic full of contradictions and scarcely divulged, generating disorientation and helplessness; it causes a breakdown in the person's life project and promotes restructuring. it is understood by the adolescents as a process and it depends on many external and internal variables, leading to a conditioned fatherhood.
Consideraciones éticas de la tecnología de asistencia en personas en condición de discapacidad: Posibilitar o limitar la autonomía?
Rozo Reyes,Claudia Marcela;
Revista Latinoamericana de Bioética , 2010,
Abstract: objective: to review the autonomy as a subject of reflection, from the use of assistive technology in people with disability and arguing the limitations on self-government can be showed based on bioethical perspective. methodology: through a careful analysis of the data, shows the arguments of authors who have reviewed the autonomy and considerations on the use of assistive technology for people with disability. conclusions and discussion: assistive technology as a resource allows people to be independent in performing some activities of daily living, but their use can have negative effects on their lives, by problems with the loss of privacy, exclusion and isolation, marginalization and stigmatization among others, which are negative effects on social integration processes of the person with disability. shows the technological paternalism as a process of control over lives of individuals, generating decrease in autonomy that aims to generate in the rehabilitation of the patient.
Significado de la Paternidad en Adolescentes Varones del Sector Sur-Oriente de Santiago Meaning of Fatherhood in Male Adolescents of the South-East Area of Santiago
Claudia Cruzat,Marcela Aracena
Psykhe (Santiago) , 2006,
Critical Nitrogen Dilution Curve in Processing Potato Cultivars  [PDF]
Claudia Marcela Giletto, Hernán Eduardo Echeverría
American Journal of Plant Sciences (AJPS) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/ajps.2015.619306
Abstract: The critical nitrogen dilution curve (CNDC) can be used as a diagnostic tool to assess crop N nutrition during the growing season. Potato cultivars have different biomass production and accumulation of N and consequently different growth patterns. These differences among cultivars may result in different CNDC. The aims were a) to determine the CNDC for different potato cultivars; b) to compare these curves with reference curves; and c) to assess the possibility of using the CNDC to estimate the N nutritional status of the crop. The biomass production and N concentration of shoots and tubers of potato cultivars Innovator, Gem Russet, Umatilla Russet, Bannock Russet and Markies Russet were measured. The harvest index (HI) and N harvest index (NHI) were determined. The coefficient a of the CNDC was similar among cultivars, while the coefficients b for Innovator and Gem Russet (-0.42 and -0.36, respectively) were smaller than those for the other cultivars (average -0.25). HI and NHI were greater in Innovator, smaller in Markies Russet, and intermediated in the other three cultivars. The coefficients b of the CNDC were correlated with HI and NHI (HI, r = -0.62, p < 0.0001 and -0.53, p < 0.0001; NHI, r = -0.60, p < 0.0001 and -0.61, p < 0.0001 for 2004/5 and 2005/6, respectively). The relationship between relative tuber yield (RY) and N nutrition index (NNI) was fit by a quadratic-plateau function. At similar situations of N deficiency, Innovator had lower yield and greater response to N rate than the other potato cultivars. The differences in HI and NHI among cultivars may explain the differences in the coefficient b of the CNDC. The NNI identified the status of N adequately in potato cultivars.
?De Política de Representación a Política de Coalición?: Posibilidades de Movilización Feminista en el Chile Post-Dictadura
Mora,Claudia; Ríos,Marcela;
Polis (Santiago) , 2009, DOI: 10.4067/S0718-65682009000300008
Abstract: the history of the chilean feminist movement shows that regardless of the permanency of gender inequality collective action emerges when both, the opening of political opportunity structures and the agency of activists converge. women?s movements in chile have materialized when both of these conditions are present, ceasing to exist after achieving their immediate unifying goal. in this work, we propose that opportunity structures for feminist action have opened under the bachelet administration but that the politics of representation, historically characteristic of social movements, is no longer the only -or more effective- way to move forward gender demands. an analysis of the fragmentation of women movements points to the need to think about the issue of identity politics in social movements. in this article we suggest that a politics of representation should give way to a politics of coalition, not only for its democratic possibilities but also because in the new socio-cultural context, the articulation of coalitions around gender issues is the most effective alternative to affect the transformation of the gender order.
