Dispositivos de tecnología de asistencia para alimentación = Devices of assistive technology for feeding
Losada Gómez, A
Therefore, it was necessary to develop a descriptive study that included an instrument kind of inquiry to people that commercialize this devices. The principal results determine that there are different devices for the motor function (keep the sedentary posture, facilitate grips, facilitate hand-mouth patron) and the buccal patrons (sucking, swallowing, chewing and digestion) that are required in the feeding. As a conclusion it was determined that at present in Colombia, the devices of assistive technology for feeding have a low level of technology and there is an easy access to them, but is required to realize a mayor diffusion, also it was found that there are not devices than can facilitate this activity to people that present paralysis in superior members and those that present application of high technology are minimum.

Abstract: It is well-known that feeling to be a healthy or sick person most probably results from the mind than from the body. We all know healthy people who feel sick and vice versa. We were interested in the health and sickness feeling of celiac people, their autorating of these feelings and its conditioning factors as well as their expectations. In this paper we present the results of an inquiry to evaluate these situations. We performed a descriptive, transversal and prospective study for 2 years to groups of celiacs and their families. They received a closed inquiry to be completed before the beginning of the talk. The inquiry included personal data and the co-existence of associated or concomitant (AoC) diseases. Most of the sample’s patients felt to be a healthy person (86.8%). Mothers see their children as healthy and the auto rated criteria is significantly better than the adult celiac person (“t”= -6.024 (p = 0.000)). AoC diseases influenced negatively in the feeling of being healthy and strongly decreased the autorating. Longer time passed on treatment reflects an increase feeling of health and of the autorating. In people with AoC diseases and who feel sick, the increased time of treatment did not show significant differences. People with “gluten sensitivity” felt sicker and auto rated themselves with a lower number than celiacs. Many pediatric gastroenterologists notice that the newly agreed definition of celiac disease, referring it as “autoimmune, chronic, incurable, and multisystemic”, results in a very negative character of the condition which might compromise the future labour of this people as well as their admittance to different health insurance systems.

Convergencia , 2006,
Chronic cola drinking induces metabolic and cardiac alterations in rats
José Milei,Matilde Otero Losada,Hernán Gómez Llambí,Daniel R Grana
World Journal of Cardiology , 2011,
Abstract: AIM: To investigate the effects of chronic drinking of cola beverages on metabolic and echocardiographic parameters in rats.METHODS: Forty-eight male Wistar rats were divided in 3 groups and allowed to drink regular cola (C), diet cola (L), or tap water (W) ad libitum during 6 mo. After this period, 50% of the animals in each group were euthanized. The remaining rats drank tap water ad libitum for an additional 6 mo and were then sacrificed. Rat weight, food, and beverage consumption were measured regularly. Biochemical, echocardiographic and systolic blood pressure data were obtained at baseline, and at 6 mo (treatment) and 12 mo (washout). A complete histopathology study was performed after sacrifice.RESULTS: After 6 mo, C rats had increased body weight (+7%, P < 0.01), increased liquid consumption (+69%, P < 0.001), and decreased food intake (-31%, P < 0.001). C rats showed mild hyperglycemia and hypertriglyceridemia. Normoglycemia (+69%, P < 0.01) and sustained hypertriglyceridemia (+69%, P < 0.01) were observed in C after washout. Both cola beverages induced an increase in left ventricular diastolic diameter (C: +9%, L: +7%, P < 0.05 vs W) and volumes (diastolic C: +26%, L: +22%, P < 0.01 vs W; systolic C: +24%, L: +24%, P < 0.05 vs W) and reduction of relative posterior wall thickness (C: -8%, L: -10%, P < 0.05 vs W). Cardiac output tended to increase (C: +25%, P < 0.05 vs W; L: +17%, not significant vs W). Heart rate was not affected. Pathology findings were scarce, related to aging rather than treatment.CONCLUSION: This experimental model may prove useful to investigate the consequences of high consumption of soft drinks.

Journal of Cancer Therapy (JCT) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/jct.2013.46125
Abstract:

Recurrent eccrine syringomatous carcinoma is an extremely rare adnexal tumor predominantly found in the head and neck region. We present a case of a 75-year-old woman with a 7-year history of recurrent syringoid eccrine carcinoma in the scalp and auricle. She had undergone five previous oncologic resections and declined further oncologic ablation of the auricle, including temporal bone and external ear canal resection. We performed five sessions of palliative photodynamic therapy using topical aminolevulinic acid HCL 20% (ALA) and between 25 and 33 pulses of Intense Pulsed Light (Quantum) with an intensity of 30 Joules. The ALA incubation time was 3 hours, while the time between each session was 4 weeks. This treatment helped to control ulceration, pain, and swelling. We saw the patient 1 month after the last treatment, by that time she moved and we lost contact.

Sequential completeness of inductive limits
Claudia Gómez,Jan Ku era
International Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences , 2000, DOI: 10.1155/s0161171200003744
Abstract: A regular inductive limit of sequentially complete spaces is sequentially complete. For the converse of this theorem we have a weaker result: if ind En is sequentially complete inductive limit, and each constituent space En is closed in ind En, then ind En is α-regular.
