Abstract: knowledge has been used as a resource for intelligent and effective action planning in organizations. interest in research on knowledge management processes has intensified in different areas. a systematic literature review was accomplished, based on the question: what are the contributions of brazilian and international journal publications on knowledge management in health? the sample totaled 32 items that complied with the inclusion criteria. the results showed that 78% of journals that published on the theme are international, 77% of researchers work in higher education and 65% have a ph.d. the texts gave rise to five thematic categories, mainly: development of knowledge management systems in health (37.5%), discussion of knowledge management application in health (28.1%) and nurses' function in knowledge management (18.7%).

Abstract: this study aimed at analyzing the perception of pre-term babies' parents in experiencing the kangaroo mother method. it is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. data were collected from semi-structured interviews with 10 parents, held in the first 60 days after the discharge of the pre-term baby from the kangaroo method, in a philanthropic hospital in the interior of s?o paulo state. the parents' perception concerning the experience was grouped in four thematic units: making maternal stay in the kangaroo method flexible; favoring the mother-child and family relationship; completing the pre-term newborn's growth and development and developing skills in caring for the child. the obtained data provided information for the organization of care in the kangaroo mother method, from the institutional perspective of the health care team as well as the relationship with clients, which enabled understanding about the difficulties and meanings attributed to the experience and optimization of nursing care.

Abstract: the present study aimed to develop and standardize a colorimetric method for assessing salivary buffer capacity adapted to the features of the brazilian population. samples of stimulated saliva were titrated without co2 elimination. the assessment was carried out to study the influence of the loss of co2 from the samples during the few minutes necessary for titration, and to standardize the instants for measuring ph. saliva samples were titrated from 206 individuals from both genders, between 5 and 50 years of age, and in a proportion of 0.77 : 1 : 0.44, respectively of children, youngsters, and adults. case frequency distribution; determination of average values of initial ph, pka, μ equivalents related to titration end point and final ph; and estimate of the percentage of saliva titrated at a ph of 5.0 were calculated based on the data collected. the results were used to classify individuals according to their salivary buffer capacity by colorimetric ph determinations using 11,12, and 13 μ equivalents of h+/ml saliva, and were compared to case frequency distribution obtained from saliva titration data. the results indicate that 11 μ equivalents h+/ml of saliva is the most appropriate for clinically evaluating the salivary buffer capacity of our population.
Patogenicidade de fungos hifomicetos aos pulg?es Aphis gossypii Glover e Myzus persicae (Sulzer) (Hemiptera: Aphididae)
Loureiro, Elisangela de S.;Moino Jr., Alcides;
Neotropical Entomology , 2006, DOI: 10.1590/S1519-566X2006000500014
Abstract: the aphids aphis gossypii and myzus persicae are cosmopolitan, poliphagous and damage cultivated plants. the effects of the entomopathogenic fungi beauveria bassiana (isolate ibcb 66), metarhizium anisopliae (isolate ibcb 121), paecilomyces fumosoroseus (isolate ibcb 141) and lecanicillium (= verticillium) lecanii (isolate jab 02) on third instar nymphs of a. gossypii and m. persicae were evaluated in the laboratory at 25°c, 70 ± 10% rh and 12h photophase. the aphids were transferred to petri dishes with a foliar disk (cotton or pepper) with a layer of 1 cm tick of agar-water. the fungi were applied in a suspension containing 1.0 x 106 to 1.0 x 108 conidia/ml. in the control treatment 1 ml of sterilized water was added to the foliar disks. the mortality of aphids was evaluated daily. b. bassiana and m. anisopliae caused 100% mortality at the seventh day after inoculation, for both species. l. lecanii was the fungus that provided mortality later in the aphids and m. persicae was more susceptible to both fungi than a. gossypii.

Abstract: the authors describe two cases (one tricuspid atresia without tga or pulmonary stenosis, but with a restrictive ivc: the second of an ebstein disease) of total cavo-pulmonary anastomosis using only the tissue of the atrial wall, avoiding any prosthetic material. both cases were done under cardiopulmonary bypass and cold blood cardioplegia. a flap of the right atrial wall was used to re-direct the blood flow. pleural effusion in one patient and complete av block in the other were the complications found. they conclude that right intra-atrial tunneling for total cavo-pulmonary anastomosis, avoiding the use of any foreign material is feasible, thus diminishing the possible late risks (calcification, embolization, retraction) of prosthetic materials.

Abstract: the creation of protected areas is one of the most recurrent environmental politics worldwide. the protection of an area, however, involves different levels of conflict due to the appropriation of environmental resources. this paper analyzes the category of conflicts as a theoretical tool to apprehend the composition of the social agenda. it presents a new perspective of social battles.
Glucose level in blood and urine of minks depending on body condition
Hanna Bis-Wencel
Annales UMCS, Zootechnica , 2011, DOI: 10.2478/v10083-011-0013-6
Abstract: The aim of this study was to assess the level of glucose in the blood and urine of minks of different shapes, over the successive stages of the production period, from breeding to weaning. On the farm of scanbrown minks, animal health studies were performed using the BCS rating system. Besides, the level of glucose in the blood and urine of females was determined. Plasma glucose concentration was determined with Cormay reagents, while in urine with test strips Medi-Test Combi 10 VET. The scoring system of the condition of the minks' bodies proved to be a useful and practical tool for assessing the degree of fatness in minks. The level of sugar in blood and urine were on different levels, whereas hyperglycemia with glycosuria occurred more frequently and more numerously in the lean and fatty mothers during late lactation, which indicates that this is a moment of weakness in the body's glycemic control during the reproductive cycle of minks.
