Estudos do CEPE , 2010,
Abstract This work analyzes the evolution of the two main credit lines to Brazilian exporters between 2004 and 2008. Initially, it describes the credit lines that were studied, showing its features, restrictions and the necessary procedures for a trader in order to obtain it. The results show that, in the last five years, these credit lines have not accompanied the Brazilian export growth.
Quantum singular operator limits of thin Dirichlet tubes via $Γ$-convergence
Cesar R. de Oliveira
Mathematics , 2010, DOI: 10.1016/S0034-4877(11)00007-3
Abstract: The $\Gamma$-convergence of lower bounded quadratic forms is used to study the singular operator limit of thin tubes (i.e., the vanishing of the cross section diameter) of the Laplace operator with Dirichlet boundary conditions; a procedure to obtain the effective Schr\"odinger operator (in different subspaces) is proposed, generalizing recent results in case of compact tubes. Finally, after scaling curvature and torsion the limit of a broken line is briefly investigated.
Ichthyological Overview and Remarks on Freshwater Fishes from Capim River, Lower Amazon Basin, Brazil  [PDF]
Júlio Cesar Garavello, Alexandre Kannebley de Oliveira
Open Journal of Ecology (OJE) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/oje.2014.413068
Abstract: The Capim River drainage should be considered small and thin by comparison with large Amazonian rivers. It rises by confluence of the Surubiú and Ararandeua rivers near 400 m high and their headwaters would be comfortably included in the Dry Emerged Lowland (terra firme) forest area of Sternberg’s Amazonian concept. Because of this reason the freshwater fish fauna of Capim River is comprised mainly by Amazonian fish families found in tributaries also with origin in terra firme areas. The ichthyofauna from the main channel of the poorly sampled Capim River, in the stretch between its confluence with Tauarí River and its mouth at Guamá River, is herein reported by way of rapid assessment. Also broad comparisons were made among freshwater fishes of the Capim with that from Tocantins and Guamá rivers. Two rapid access research surveys of collecting ichthyological material were performed in dry and humid periods of the year 1998 comprising the regional hydrologic cycle. The ichthyological diversity showed by the 461 studied specimens includes 79 species probably derived from Guamá and Tocantins rivers. These species are distributed between two situations: 1) downstream Capim River, at confluence with Guamá River, where is under tidal waters influence and periodically flooded, and 2) upriver Capim that is less humid and with water rapids, independent from sea hydrologic influence. This fish fauna includes local species common at high areas of the Amazonian Dry Emerged Lowland that are in part shared with that from Tocantins River. In view of these observations, we assume that the Capim River freshwater ichthyofauna may reflect diverse origin from the simple transfer of populations from Guamá River, but originate through a more complex process including the past ichthyofauna of the earlier drainages of terra firme forest and their reorganization.

Analytical Determination of Benzophenone-3 in Sunscreen Preparations Using Boron-Doped Diamond Electrodes  [PDF]

American Journal of Analytical Chemistry (AJAC) , 2011, DOI: 10.4236/ajac.2011.23047
Abstract: A new electroanalytical procedure was developed for the determination of Benzophenone-3 (BENZO) in commercial sunscreen as the active ingredient. The procedure is based on the use of electrochemical methods as cyclic and square-wave voltammetry, with boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrodes. The reduction of BENZO in Britton-Robinson buffer (0.1 mol●L–1) using this type of electrode gives rise to one irreversible peak in –1.30 V (versus Ag/AgCl) in presence of cationic surfactant cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTABr). The proposed electrochemical method was successfully applied to the analysis of commercially available pharmaceutical preparations.

Abstract: Different protocols have been used for washing and disinfecting leafy vegetables in Brazilian food services, however its effect on microbial reduction was barely studied. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of lettuce washing and disinfecting protocols used by food services. The treatments evaluated were: washing in potable tap water (T1); washing and dipping in potable tap water (T2); washing with potable tap water and dipping in a solution of sodium hypochlorite (200 ppm of free chlorine) for 15 min (T3); and 30 min (T4); washing with potable tap water and dipping in 2% vinegar solution (T5); and 20% vinegar solution (T6). After the treatments, the samples were microbiologically evaluated to measure bacterial reductions. The microbial counts showed that the mean total mesophile reductions were: 0.64 log for T1, 0.75 log for T2, 2.06 log for T3, 2.46 log for T4, 1.68 log for T5 and 1.72 log for T6, and the mean total coliform reductions were: 1.11 log for T1, 1.09 log for T2, 2.29 log for T3, 2.35 log for T4, 1.6 log for T5 and 2.09 log for T6. Based on these results it can be concluded that protocols which used 200 ppm sodium hypochlorite for 15 to 30 min (T3 e T4), were the most effective, followed by treatment with 20% vinegar solution (T6). The latter method, however, turned the lettuce dark during the distribution period.

Abstract: the series of events stemming from the acts and passions of the christian martyrs, written in the heat of persecution up to the more legendary and epic stories spreading from the late 4th and early 5th centuries has often been viewed by historians as one of the more striking transitions of hagiography in late antiquity. nevertheless, the use of the judicial processes in the writing of the traditional martyrs' acts as well as in the composition of the more extensive and epic narratives remained highly valued in the minds of north african christians, donatists and catholics alike, at least until the beginning of the 5th century. the purpose of this paper is to understand the reasons for the high regard in which the documents in the archives were held, especially the official ones, and to research the different, practical uses made from them by north-african christians, from the 3rd to the beginning of the 5th century.
