Ana Beatriz Almeida de Oliveira, Ana Carolina Ritter, Eduardo Cesar Tondo, Marisa Itapema Cardoso
Food and Nutrition Sciences (FNS) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/fns.2012.31006
Abstract: Different protocols have been used for washing and disinfecting leafy vegetables in Brazilian food services, however its effect on microbial reduction was barely studied. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of lettuce washing and disinfecting protocols used by food services. The treatments evaluated were: washing in potable tap water (T1); washing and dipping in potable tap water (T2); washing with potable tap water and dipping in a solution of sodium hypochlorite (200 ppm of free chlorine) for 15 min (T3); and 30 min (T4); washing with potable tap water and dipping in 2% vinegar solution (T5); and 20% vinegar solution (T6). After the treatments, the samples were microbiologically evaluated to measure bacterial reductions. The microbial counts showed that the mean total mesophile reductions were: 0.64 log for T1, 0.75 log for T2, 2.06 log for T3, 2.46 log for T4, 1.68 log for T5 and 1.72 log for T6, and the mean total coliform reductions were: 1.11 log for T1, 1.09 log for T2, 2.29 log for T3, 2.35 log for T4, 1.6 log for T5 and 2.09 log for T6. Based on these results it can be concluded that protocols which used 200 ppm sodium hypochlorite for 15 to 30 min (T3 e T4), were the most effective, followed by treatment with 20% vinegar solution (T6). The latter method, however, turned the lettuce dark during the distribution period.

Oliveira, Sidinei Rocha de;Piccinini, Valmiria Carolina;
Cadernos EBAPE.BR , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S1679-39512009000100007
Abstract: until today, the search for numerical accuracy, capable of being validated, confirmed and reproduced, represents the main form of knowledge construction in several areas of social science. while qualitative research has widened its range and gained distinction, its value is questioned by some researchers who believe that it has neither the same rigour in the collection and analysis of data as quantitative research nor capacity for generalization of the results. in this short essay, an attempt is made to discuss two elements of rigour in qualitative research: validity and reflexivity. firstly, a theoretical review is carried out in an effort to define and discuss the concept of validity, as well as highlight the different interpretations given to the term in different epistemological currents. with regard to the concept of reflexivity, the paper highlights the importance of adopting a critical analysis of science with emphasis on the position and actions of the researcher when performing his/her work and the relation that is established with the subjects under study. to finish, some remarks are offered on the construction of knowledge in the scientific field and the role of researcher.

The term work market permeates a great number of the present-day debates in sociology and economy. However, even though it is common to find texts that attempt to dimension and understand work, as well as explain the changes it has undergone in recent decades, there are few studies that look into the theoretical aspects of the concept and highlight the perspective they are following. In the present study an attempt is made to analyze the concept at different approaches. For this purpose, some of the main approaches towards the term are presented, and their theoretical perspective and possible limitations are highlighted. From the field of economy, the constructions of the classical Keynesian and segmentation theories are considered. After we present the economic sociological approach of social networks and institutional approach. Based on reflections on the potential and limitations of each approach and of the ideas of Bourdieu, an idea for extending the understanding and debate on the term is offered. It is believed that by following this approach it will be possible to extend the debate on the current economic structures. To finish, an outline is made of the how it would be possible to understand the work market in times of mundialization.

Medwave , 2011,
Abstract: In female addicts, pregnancy carries risks associated with lifestyles, modes of consumption and effect of drugs on the developing fetus. This investigation tried to determine the level of antenatal attachment in pregnant addicts, as well as assess the relationship between the number of nursing visits and held attendance of the preparation for childbirth, with the level of prenatal attachment. We conducted a correlational study (Fortin, 2009), applied to a single point. Regarding the level of prenatal attachment, and considering that the maximum value for scale is 80, pregnant drug users have an average of 53.53 (SD=24.10), a value above the average value of the scale, it emphasizes that these pregnant have a value of linking prenatal satisfactory. It was found that the greater the number of nurse consultations conducted surveillance of the pregnancy, the greater the level of prenatal attachment, noting also that pregnant addicts who attend the course in preparation for childbirth, have higher levels of binding prenatal care (p <0.05).
