Holderbaum, Rejane Maria;Veeck, Elaine Bauer;Oliveira, Helena Willhelm;Silva, Carmem Lúcia;Fernandes, ?ngela;
Brazilian Oral Research , 2005, DOI: 10.1590/S1806-83242005000300010
Abstract: the goal of this study was to evaluate skeletal, dental and chronological development in an hiv-positive group of children, as compared with a control group, during a four-year period. panoramic radiographs and hand and wrist radiographs of 60 children were taken. the children, of both sexes, aged 5 years and 2 months to 15 years and 5 months, were selected as follows: 30 hiv-positive volunteers who had acquired the disease vertically, and 30 volunteers who did not present the hiv infection or any other systemic disease. all radiographs were technically standardized and analyzed according to criteria established by nolla (dental age), greulich and pyle (bone age), and ekl?f and ringertz (bone age). the results were submitted to student's t-test at a 5% level of significance. based on the comparison between the chronological age and the dental or the skeletal age, significant differences were observed between hiv-positive and hiv-negative children, both in 1999 and in 2003 (p < 0.05). considering the results obtained with the methodology used, it was concluded that hiv-positive children of both sexes presented delayed bone development despite the administration of antiretroviral drugs, and that hiv-positive female children presented younger dental ages compared with their chronological ages in 1999 and in 2003; and hiv-positive males, in 1999.

Abstract: in this work, adult stem cells of three volunteers were isolated, expanded and cultivated over samples of anorthite in order to assess its osteoinductive capacity. alkaline phosphatase analysis, alp, was carried out at days 1, 7, 14 and 21, and the results showed similar behavior between the volunteers considering the initial value of each. for volunteer 1, between day 14 and 21, the decreasing of alp was remarkable in the wells containing msc only and msc+bio, from 59.9 to 26.3 u.l-1 and from 63.3 to 38.1 u.l-1, respectively, suggesting that the biomaterial was able to induce osteoblast formations. this osteoinduction property could be evidenced by citochemistry where mscs did not produce crystals of calcium oxalate or calcium phosphate, osteoblast compounds, without being stimulated by a chemical inducer, lending to the conclusion that the differentiation of msc into osteoblast when cultivated on anorthite, occurred exclusively by its influence, strongly suggesting that it is osteoinductive.

Abstract: Este trabalho problematiza alguns aspectos trazidos pela Política de Desenvolvimento Territorial Rural do Ministériodo Desenvolvimento Agrário, especificamente o Colegiado Territorial (Codeter) no Território do Alto Sert oSergipano.

Figueiredo, Carmem Lúcia Negreiros de;
Alea : Estudos Neolatinos , 2004, DOI: 10.1590/S1517-106X2004000100011
Abstract: through an analysis of different documents (newspapers, magazines and books) written by lima barreto (1881-1922), we discuss the specificity of this type of material, and possible guidelines for reading and linking the theme of fragments with fictional works. in this article, we analyse the signs left by the author, regarding the tense dialogue with nietzsche's works, especially those containing a reflection about the notion of humanity.
Beyond Technology, there Stands Magic
Lúcia Fernandes Lobato
Revista Brasileira de Estudos da Presen?a , 2013,
Abstract: This article shows evidence that despite the prominent influences of the technological revolution and the spectacular panoramas on the contemporary world, magic seems to stand beyond technology. To support this hypothesis, the author investigates the images on the cinema, pointing out that to discover magic in a film, for instance, it is necessary to recognize its subjective structures disguised in the objectivity of the screen. Finally, the author indicates that in the field of image production, dance films that are created out of a cross-disciplinary effort are another by product of the fusion between art and video, born out of technological advancements.

Abstract: results on the optimization of analytical methods for the determination of phosphorus in phosphino-polycarboxylate (ppca), used frequently as scale inhibitor during oil production, by icp-aes and icp-ms are presented. due to the complex matrix of production waters (brines) and their high concentration in inorganic phosphorus, the separation of organic phosphorus prior to its determination is necessary. in this work, minicolumns of silica immobilized c18 were used. optimization of the separation step resulted in the following working conditions: (1) prewashing of the column with methanol (80% v/v); (2) use of a flow rate of 5 ml/min and 10 ml/min, respectively, for the preconditioning step and for percolation of the water sample; (3) final elution of organic phosphorus with 7 ml of buffer of h3bo3/naoh (0.05 m, ph 9) with a flow rate of 1 ml/min. sample detection limits (3s) for different combinations of nebulizers and spectrometric methods, based on 10 ml water aliquots, are: icp-aes -cross flow (47 mg/l) and ultrasonic (18 mg/l); icp-ms -cross flow (1.2 mg/l), cyclonic (0.7 mg/l) and ultrasonic (0.5 mg/l). typical recoveries of organic phosphorus are between 90 and 95% and the repeatability of the whole procedure is better than 10%. the developed methodology was applied successfully to samples from the oil-well na 46, platform pna 2, campos basin, brazil. assessment of the ppca inhibitor was possible at lower concentrations than achieved by current analytical methods, resulting in benefits such as reduced cost of chemicals, postponed oil production and lower environmental impacts.

A no??o fenomenológica de existência e as práticas psicológicas clínicas

Estudos de Psicologia (Campinas) , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-166X2011000300011
Abstract: this essay presents man's way of being as "existence", as formulated by martin heidegger in being and time, as one of the most fundamental contributions of phenomenology to clinical psychology. the notion of "existence", also related to "being-there "(dasein) and "being-in-theworld", is understood as the origin of the essence of beings, i.e., a pre-understanding of being itself, linked to the human condition of ′beingthrown′ into a temporal facticity. it is understood that the heideggerian notion of "existence "defines a clearly distinctive clinical attitude and presents new possibilities for thematizing psychological phenomena and clinical practices. psychological practices of a phenomenological and existential perspective assume the experience of self and others as an experience of "being-in-the-world-with". in this way, they should be understood as spaces for taking care of those possibilities of "being-with "rather than taking care of an intrapsychic subject.
