BICICLETA, CIRCULACIóN VIAL Y ESPACIO PúBLICO EN LA ITALIA FASCISTA
Caracciolo,Carlos Héctor;
Historia Crítica , 2009,
Abstract: while the bicycle has not changed much since the end of the nineteenth century, the world around it -fashion, customs, technology, ideology, material culture, political and economic systems- has changed. the bicycle was a part of many aspects of italian life (work, sports, politics, leisure) for various decades and its social meaning changed over the years. this article analyzes the bicycle during the fascist dictatorship: the transformation of its social meaning and its relationship with public space. it highlights the values, strategies of power, hierarchies, tensions, and contradictions of the society and the regime, proposing a way to read them that is useful for understanding other contexts and eras.
As mútuas interfaces entre projetos e a??es de educa??o ambiental e de gest?o de recursos hídricos: subsídios para políticas de estado
Saito, Carlos H.;
Ambiente & Sociedade , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S1414-753X2011000100012
Abstract: the manuscript deals with problems handled by policy makers which needs do manage financial resources to support environmental education projects relative to water resources management. the main questions presented are: "what kind of environmental education should we support?"; "which conceptions of water resources are we taken?" and "when does a project of environmental education have to do with water resources and vice-versa?" these questions are answered by recognizing the legitimacy and necessity of the state to assume its coordinative, selective and inductive hole, based on several case-study. it is also said that it is not sufficient for state to only stimulate projects, and this same state should structure itself to be able to know and to evaluate the magnitude and distribution of the different kind of financial support already granted, being a researcher of its own action and practice. this way, it is believed that it is possible to align the results of actions to the principles that generated them, in accordance with the main objectives of the brazilian national policy of environmental education.
Nota sobre ácaros (Acari) atacando fruteira-do-conde (Rollinia sp.)
Flechtmann, Carlos H. W.;
Anais da Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz , 1972, DOI: 10.1590/S0071-12761972000100011
Abstract: the flowers of this orchard tree presents six fleshy petals, fused two by two, and disposed propeller like. in the center is a cavity which harbors the cone shaped reproductive organs. an eriophyid mite, described by h. h. keifer as aculops flechtmann keifer, 1972, causes considerable bronzing to the petals (fig. 1-a). large numbers of this mite attacking the basis of the reproductive organs causes them to dry and drop. on the young fruits, which are squamous, this mite causes some rusting and small necrotic areas (fig. 1-b). as the fruit grows these small areas remain dark and barky. very often the necrotic areas are invaded by the false spider mite brevipalpus phoenicis (geijskes, 1939), which enlarges the damage. the false spider mite also attacks leaves and green stems; the epidermis of the latter then assumes a barky appearance.
Caso de um mosquito intensamente parasitado por larvas de ácaros aquáticos
Flechtmann, Carlos H. W.;
Anais da Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz , 1974, DOI: 10.1590/S0071-12761974000100028
Abstract: one female of culex fatigans wied., 1828, was collected in a light trap at cena-esa?lq?-usp, piracicaba, at about 500 meters off the piracicaba river banks. this mosquito exhibited 15 partially engorged pionid larvae of water mites (prostigmata, hydrachnellae) of the genus arrenurus, attached to the articular membranes of the abdominal segments; no mites were found on the thorax or coxae. the larva is drawn, dorsad and ventrad. since species cannot be identified from larvae, no specific name is given.
Turbulencia sintética tridimensional: escalamiento anómalo en el rango inercial y propiedades multifractales de la disipación
Rosales H,Carlos;
Ingeniare. Revista chilena de ingeniería , 2011, DOI: 10.4067/S0718-33052011000200005
Abstract: this work presents an analysis of the scaling properties of the mmlm method, used for the numerical construction of three-dimensional turbulent vector fields. specifically, the scaling properties for the velocity field structure functions are studied. it is found that mmlm gives scaling of kolmorogov type. if the mapping parameter, which is given by a time scale based on node separation over the computational mesh, is modified and equated to the characteristic time for eddy evolution at each spatial scale, the synthetic turbulent field presents the characteristic anomalous scaling of real turbulent fields, with very good agreement with respect to the known values. in addition, we study the intermittency and multifractal nature of the energy dissipation distribution. results are also consistent with observations in real turbulence. the study sheds new light over the minimal dynamical requirements to obtain anomalous scaling in the inertial range.
The pursuit of prestige: the distribution of talented students in Chile's universities
W?rner, Carlos H.;
Avalia??o: Revista da Avalia??o da Educa??o Superior (Campinas) , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S1414-40772011000200012
Abstract: prestige is a valued capital for academic institutions.althoughit isdifficult to measure itorevento establish its components, there are no doubts that a talented corpus of students is one of the assets ofhigher education institutions. for students'admission inchilean universities,anationalgrading system is used and therefore, universities compete in capturing the best students. in addition, there are state financed subsidies associated to this attribute. the use of this financial transfer indicator as a mean to measure this portion of academic "wealth" of the institutions is proposed. by using the well known gini index, its distribution is analyzed. for the sake of comparison, we also propose the use of another "wealth" indicator based on the official results of a national accreditation process. the results show a clearly biased system measured by the two before mentioned parameters with no significant correlation within them. possible causes for this behavior are discussed.
Utilization of Durability Criterion to Develop Automotive Components
Ricardo,Luiz Carlos H.;
Ciência & Tecnologia dos Materiais , 2010,
Abstract: today the automotive companies must reduce the time to development of new products with improvement in performance, durability and low cost reductions where possible. to achieve this goal the carmakers need to improve the design criterion of car systems like body, chassis and suspension components. this paper will present a review of the techniques used in the automotive industry regarding durability before mentioned systems. the paper will present the procedures to obtain the spectrum loading to use in finite element analysis and the validation in laboratory and proving grounds.
Sociedad de la información: hegemonía, reduccionismo tecnológico y resistencias
Valderrama H,Carlos Eduardo;
Nómadas , 2012,
Abstract: this article reviews the way the so-called information society has been built, analyzing some reductionisms, which in that project, are assumed toward the technological dimension. it briefly describes the existence of resistance experiences performed by social, artistic and counter-information groups. it is conclude that in those groups, the use of tic goes beyond the plain fact of their status as artifacts, since it is the result of a complex conjunction involving technologies, political practices, and discursive practices.
Movimientos sociales: TIC y prácticas políticas
Valderrama H.,Carlos Eduardo;
Nómadas , 2008,
Abstract: this article highlights some dimensions of the relation among social movements, the constitution of a public scenario qualitatively different from that that existed until a few decades ago in the political space of modern societies, and some political practices that take the constitution of networks and the use of the communication and information technologies as a reference point.
Eustigmaeus bryonemus, sp. n., a moss-feeding mite from Brasil (Acari, Prostigmata: Stigmaeidae)
Flechtmann, Carlos H. W.;
Revista Brasileira de Zoologia , 1984, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-81751984000200010
Abstract: eustigmaeus bryonemus, sp. n., is described and figured. it was found in campinas, sp, feeding on mosses. the karyotype, determined on embryonic tissue of squashed eggs, is 2n = 8 (n = 4).
