Silva, Márcio Lopes da;Ribeiro, Carlos Antonio álvares Soares;
Revista árvore , 2006, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-67622006000100009
Abstract: the objective of this work was to determine the economic rotations for a forest stand taking into considereation only one harvest, infinite harvests and a regulated forest using mathematical models, as well as comparing them through the marginal analysis of optimality conditions. to validate the model and to verify the magnitude of the effect a study case of a forest project, with real values of production, costs, revenues and discounting rate, was used. the results indicated that the models were efficient to determine the economic rotation and that the rotation of the stand for one cut, infinite cuts and for the regulated forest were respectively 6.5, 5.5 and 5 years. the soil expectation value (sev) for the regulated forest was smaller than the sev of the stand due toimposed regulations on the forest management.

Abstract: this paper presents a new numbering system based on the pfafstetter codification scheme developed for stream networks. its main advantage is the use of the segments' length instead of the catchments' areas for establishing the pfafstetter code, therefore eliminating the need for elevation data. this methodology was then implemented in a software named otto-sys, developed for arc/info workstation in aml. in order to present the results of this new approach, a case study was carried out for the stream network of the caeté river, a tributary of iaco river, belonging to the amazon river basin. the details of such a digital hydrographic dataset led to 5 level-deep codes. each codification level is stored as a new column of the attribute table and the corresponding level dictates the number of digits of the code. once this codification scheme has been established, network-tracing tasks can be performed in any geographic information system using only attribute queries. this strategy speeds up such processes enabling them to be extended to real-time web-based devices.
Participa??o nos lucros definida pelos resultados
álvares, Antonio Carlos Teixeira;
Revista de Administra??o de Empresas , 1999, DOI: 10.1590/S0034-75901999000400008
Abstract: in december 1994, a federal constitution article was regulated determining employees' participation in the companies' profits or results (plr). thereafter, "plr" was incorporated to the union jargon and sometimes used to compose collective wage negotiations, including on a workers' category basis. this explicitly confronted the law, since not only participation is not supposed to supplement wages, but also profit and results are each and every company's unique features. the purpose of this article is to analyze the mistakes made by companies when using such an important instrument, with the sole objective of reducing payment of social taxes.
álvares, Antonio Carlos Teixeira;
Revista de Administra??o de Empresas , 2001, DOI: 10.1590/S0034-75902001000100004
Abstract: the industrial project analysis, reflecting a planning horizon which varies from five to twenty years, is naturally exposed to wide conditions of uncertainty. one important condition of uncertainty is the inflationary phenomenon, which is dribbled by economic engineering with the utilization of constant value cash flow and real interest rates. however, in cases of tax analysis made after the income tax, the depreciation expenses will be monetarily devaluated by inflation. to demonstrate the penalties incurred with capital expenditures due to this phenomenon, the classical example "buy versus lease" is used for a sensitivity analysis of different inflation rates.thus, changes are suggested in the traditional methodology of investment analysis in inflationary environment.

ABSTRACT The company that develops technologies in as systematic way is confronted with a variety of challenges to protect and to transfer its technologies inventions and innovations. The patenting and licensing bring up several issues that have strategically treated, just as to select countries for patenting its inventions and the general conditions for licensing. This paper discusses some of these questions and introduces a Brazilian’s company case study that started licensing its technologies. This fact is very important therefore technology transfer for developing countries companies has always meant the purchase of technology. That is why there are rare papers about technology transfer which companies of these countries attend as technology sellers.
