Tratamento conservador na síndrome do impacto no ombro
Metzker, Carlos Alexandre Batista;
Fisioterapia em Movimento , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-51502010000100014
Abstract: introduction: the impingement syndrome is an inflammatory and degenerative pathology that is characterized for mechanic impingement of definitive structures located in the umerocoracoacromial space of the joint. it is the most common problem of the escapular joint with superior prevalence in 40 and 50-year-old individuals, however, for being closely related to some labor and sport activities, it has become much more frequent in young adults. by means of the raised number of patients and with the intention to guide the large number of health professionals on the necessity of early treatment of the pathology, the aim of this study is to present the models of the impingement syndrome treatment and the physicaltherapy′s importance in the conservative treatment. metodologia: a scientific literature review was carried through with accessing the diverse literary reports on the subject and national and international articles search through the internet. results: the conservative treatment of the impingement syndrome involves a group of procedures to go through measures analgesic, anti-inflammatory and physiotherapy, being the last, indispensable tool in the recovery process. conclusion: to the end of the study it can be concluded that the conservative treatment is frequently used in the impingement syndrome treatment and that the physicaltherapy is the more indicated therapeutical modality, associated to a guided and re-education program about the activities that can make it difficult the process of full recovery. however, the treatment plan depends directly on the illness evolution phase, since in the case of failure of the conservative treatment, the surgery could be indicated.
A note on the connectedness locus of the families of polynomials Pc(z)=z n - cz n-j
Arteaga, Carlos;Alves, Alexandre;
Anais da Academia Brasileira de Ciências , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S0001-37652012000100002
Abstract: let j be a positive integer. for each integer n > j we consider the connectedness locus mn of the family of polynomials pc(z) = zn - czn-j, where c is a complex parameter. we prove that limn→∞ mn = d in the hausdorff topology, where d is the unitary closed disk {c;|c|<1}.
O fen?meno da focaliza??o e a interface fonologia-sintaxe
GON?ALVES, Carlos Alexandre;
DELTA: Documenta??o de Estudos em Lingüística Teórica e Aplicada , 1999, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-44501999000200005
Abstract: the aim of this paper is to describe the strategies of focalization in brazilian portuguese, observing the syntax-phonology interface. i defend the independence of prosody in the materialization of the phenomenon and, for this, i suggest a 'bilateral moderate dissocicionist' connection beetween this two subsystems of grammar.
Má oclus?o Classe III de Angle com discrepancia anteroposterior acentuada
Camara, Carlos Alexandre;
Dental Press Journal of Orthodontics , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S2176-94512010000200016
Abstract: this case report describes the treatment of a 36-year-old patient who presented a skeletal and dental class iii malocclusion and missing upper canines. the patient was treated with orthosurgical maxillary advancement (le fort 1) and occlusal adjustment of the first premolars, which replaced the canines. this case was presented to the brazilian board of orthodontics and facial orthopedics (bbo), as representative of category 4, i.e., malocclusion with severe anteroposterior discrepancy, as part of the requirements for obtaining the bbo diploma.
Rela??es de identidade em modelos paralelistas: morfologia e fonologia
Gon?alves, Carlos Alexandre;
DELTA: Documenta??o de Estudos em Lingüística Teórica e Aplicada , 2005, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-44502005000100004
Abstract: this paper discusses aspects of brazilian portuguese morphology-phonology interface within the framework of optimality theory. the paper rewiews the notion of faithfulness in three parellel models: (a) classic optimality (prince & smolensky, 1993), (b) correspondence (mccarthy & prince, 1995; benua, 1995) and (c) sympathy (mccarthy, 1998). while mccarthy's (1998) sympathy theory is a response to explaining phonological opacity within parallel optimality theory, it is demonstrated that non-concatenative morphology process, like truncation and lexical blend, also can be described with this framework.
Esthetics in Orthodontics: interest points, reference points and discrepancy points
Camara, Carlos Alexandre;
Dental Press Journal of Orthodontics , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S2176-94512012000500003
Abstract: it is fundamental for orthodontists and all professionals related with facial, oral and dental esthetics to know how the individuals observe dentofacial structures. thus, it will be the purpose of this orthodontic insight to present and describe the interest, reference and discrepancy. points with the knowledge and perception of these points it will be easier for orthodontists to create a convergent canal of communication with their patients.
