Tratamento conservador na síndrome do impacto no ombro

Abstract: introduction: the impingement syndrome is an inflammatory and degenerative pathology that is characterized for mechanic impingement of definitive structures located in the umerocoracoacromial space of the joint. it is the most common problem of the escapular joint with superior prevalence in 40 and 50-year-old individuals, however, for being closely related to some labor and sport activities, it has become much more frequent in young adults. by means of the raised number of patients and with the intention to guide the large number of health professionals on the necessity of early treatment of the pathology, the aim of this study is to present the models of the impingement syndrome treatment and the physicaltherapy′s importance in the conservative treatment. metodologia: a scientific literature review was carried through with accessing the diverse literary reports on the subject and national and international articles search through the internet. results: the conservative treatment of the impingement syndrome involves a group of procedures to go through measures analgesic, anti-inflammatory and physiotherapy, being the last, indispensable tool in the recovery process. conclusion: to the end of the study it can be concluded that the conservative treatment is frequently used in the impingement syndrome treatment and that the physicaltherapy is the more indicated therapeutical modality, associated to a guided and re-education program about the activities that can make it difficult the process of full recovery. however, the treatment plan depends directly on the illness evolution phase, since in the case of failure of the conservative treatment, the surgery could be indicated.

Abstract: the purpose of this study was to determine the number of familiarization sessions for stabilizing the load of one repetition maximum (1rm) tests on the squat exercise in men and women. eight men (25 ± 4 years) and eight women (20 ± 1 years) underwent five experimental sessions. anova and bland-altman plotting were used to compare the 1rm load between the sessions (p<0.05). the stabilization of load occurred at the fourth session for men and at the third session for women, with significantly increased in relative and absolute strength from the first to the fourth (17kg and 19%) and from the first to the third (9kg and 14%) session, respectively. however, relative strength did not differ significantly between genders. according to our results, individuals not experienced with strength training can reach high reliability in the 1rm test in the squat exercise, after performing three or four familiarizations sessions.
Efeito fungistático de Bacillus thuringiensis e de outras bactérias sobre alguns fungos fitopatogênicos

Abstract: Quatro isolados bacterianos da rizosfera de Drosera villosa var. villosa (B1, B2, B3, B4) e dois isolados de Bacillus thuringiensis (B5 e B6), sendo B6 produtor da toxina bioinseticida Cry1Ab, foram avaliados quanto à capacidade de inibir os fungos fitopatogênicos Fusarium solani f. sp. phaseoli, Fusarium solani f. sp. glycines, Fusarium oxysporum e Colletotrichum sp. A cepa mais efetiva foi B1 que inibiu o crescimento dos quatro fungos até o 26o dia. B. thuringiensis inibiu o crescimento de três destes, o que indica que possui atividade antifúngica e abre um novo campo de estudo para a utiliza o do B. thuringiensis.
Efeito do tratamento com etanol sobre a gliconeogênese em ratos intolerantes à glicose = Effect of ethanol treatment on gluconeogenesis in glucoseintolerant rats

Abstract: O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a influência do tratamento com etanol (Et) sobre a gliconeogênese em ratos intolerantes à glicose. A intolerancia à glicose foi induzida pela inje o de dexametasona (DEXA) (0,1 mg kg-1; s.c., quatro dias). O teste de tolerancia àglicose (GTT) e os experimentos de perfus o de fígado in situ (avalia o da gliconeogênese) foram realizados em ratos submetidos a jejum de 15h dos grupos experimentais: Controle (salina 0,9%, s.c., quatro dias); DEX (DEXA 0,1 mg kg-1; s.c., quatro dias); DEX+Et 3% (per os, 14 dias); DEX+Et 20% (per os, 14 dias); DEX+Met (Mettformina 300 mg kg-1, per os, quatro dias). Os animais tratados com DEX apresentaram elevada concentra o de glicose sanguínea e também no perfusato coletado. O tratamento com metformina promoveu redu o significativa na concentra o de glicose no perfusato obtido de animais intolerantes à glicose. Entretanto, somente o tratamento com Et 3% promoveu redu o na intolerancia à glicose, mas n o na produ o da glicose hepática observada em animais DEX. Os dados obtidos demonstram que a administra o de Et 3% melhora a intolerancia à glicose induzida pela DEX sem influenciar na gliconeogênese, diferentemente do observado pelo tratamento com a metformina. In this work, the influence of ethanol (Et) treatment on gluconeogenesis in glucose-intolerance rats was evaluated. Glucose intolerance in rats was induced by dexamethasone (DEXA) injection (0.1 mg kg-1; s.c., 4 days). The glucose tolerance test (GTT) and liver perfusion in situ experiments (gluconeogenesis evaluation) were performed with 15-hour fasted rats in the following experimental groups: Control (saline 0.9%, s.c., 4 days); DEX (DEXA 0.1 mg kg-1; s.c., 4 days); DEX+Et 3% (per os, 14 days); DEX+Et 20% (per os, 14 days); DEX+Met (Metformin 300 mg kg-1, per os, 4 days). DEX-treated animals showed high glucose concentration in blood and also in the perfusate collected. Metformin treatment resulted in a significant reduction in the concentration of perfusate glucose in intolerant animals. However, only the Et 3% treatment reduced glucose intolerance, but not glucose hepatic production observed in DEX animals. Data showed that Et 3% administration improves glucose intolerance induced by DEX without influence on gluconeogenesis, unlike the result observed with Metformin treatment.
Sazonalidade do Albedo de Superfície com Uso do Sensoriamento Remoto em Microbacia Hidrográfica do Semiárido Brasileiro

Abstract: Este trabalho objetivou determinar a sazonalidade do albedo para uma micro bacia hidrográfica, visto que esta variável biofísica é muito importante no balan o de radia o da superfície, parametro utilizado em diversos modelos hidrológicos, dentre eles, destaca-se o modelo WASA-SED, onde o albedo de superfície mostra-se com alta sensibilidade. A estimativa do parametro estudado foi realizada a partir do modelo SEBAL (Surface Energy Balance Algorithm for Land) e imagens do Mapeador Temático (TM) do Landsat 5 datadas de 10/10/2003 e 01/07/2007. Os resultados mostraram uma varia o sazonal do albedo de superfície para os dois períodos, sendo de 24% para a esta o seca e de 15,5% para o final da esta o chuvosa.
Digestibilidade aparente e desenvolvimento de eqüinos em crescimento submetidos a dietas compostas por diferentes níveis de substitui??o do feno de Tifton 85 pela casca de soja

Abstract: two experiments were carried out to evaluate the nutritional utilization of soybean hulls for growing horses. in the digestibility assay, four colts, averaging 11 months of age and 350±26kg, were used to determine the nutritional value of diets with soybean hulls. the experimental design was square latine (4 x 4). four diets were used, one as a reference and three as test diets, where the soybean hulls replaced 33.3, 66.6 and 100% of the tifton 85 hay of the reference diet. total feces collection was used to determine the apparent digestibility coefficients of the diets. effects on the apparent digestibility coefficient of the dry matter were observed (62.48, 66.35, 79.49 and 82.77%; 66.08, 65.16, 75.41 and 74.09%; 62.59, 62.62, 75.17 and 74.05% and 61.12, 57.15, 73.34 and 72.27%, respectively, for the test diet and the diets with 33.3, 66.6 and 100% of soybean hulls replacing the tifton 85 hay). no effects on the apparent digestibility coefficients of crude protein were observed (69.67, 71.95, 74.08 and 75.03%, respectively, for the test diet and the diets with 33.3, 66.6 and 100% of soybean hulls replacing the tifton 85 hay. in the development experiment, 16 colts, averaging 15 months of age and 255.19±21.12 kg, were used. a completely randomized design with four replications and four animal by each experimental unit, for a period of 75 days, was used. the trials consisted of a reference diet and three levels of substitution (33.3, 66.6 and 100%) of hay by soybean hulls, formulated to be isoprotein and isocaloric. no diet effects on the perfomance variables were observed in growing horses. it was concluded that diets for equines can be formulated with total substitution of hay for soybean hulls without affecting development.
Intravitreal bevacizumab in pigmented rabbit eyes: histological analysis 90 days after injection

Abstract: purpose: to evaluate bevacizumab toxicity in neurosensorial retina and retinal pigment epithelium in pigmented rabbit eyes by means of histological studies. methods: thirty eyes of fifteen rabbits were distributed into three groups: sham group (s), that received a 0.1 ml balanced saline solution (bss) intravitreal injection (10 eyes); group 1, that received a 1.25 mg (0.1 ml) bevacizumab intravitreal injection (10 eyes); and group 2, that received a 2.5 mg (0.1 ml) bevacizumab intravitreal injection (10 eyes). rabbits were sacrificed 90 days after the procedure and both eyes of each rabbit were enucleated. a histological examination of neurosensorial retina and retinal pigmented epithelium (rpe) was performed. its morphological features and layer thickness were also analyzed. results: no histological differences in neurosensorial retina or in retinal pigmented epithelium were found and layer thickness did not differ significantly between balanced saline solution-injected eyes and bevacizumab-injected eyes. conclusion: after a 90-day follow-up period, a single 1.25 or 2.5 mg bevacizumab intravitreal injection did not lead to toxic damage in the neurosensorial retina and retinal pigment epithelium of pigmented rabbit eyes, and it appears to be a safe procedure for retinal neovascular diseases.
On the Weyl Tensor Classification in All Dimensions and its Relation with Integrability Properties

Abstract: In this paper the Weyl tensor is used to define operators that act on the space of forms. These operators are shown to have interesting properties and are used to classify the Weyl tensor, the well known Petrov classification emerging as a special case. Particularly, in the Euclidean signature this classification turns out be really simple. Then it is shown that the integrability condition of maximally isotropic distributions can be described in terms of the invariance of certain subbundles under the action of these operators. Here it is also proved a new generalization of the Goldberg-Sachs theorem, valid in all even dimensions, stating that the existence of an integrable maximally isotropic distribution imposes restrictions on the optical matrix. Also the higher-dimensional versions of the self-dual manifolds are investigated. These topics can shed light on the integrability of Einstein's equation in higher dimensions.
On the Pursuit of Generalizations for the Petrov Classification and the Goldberg-Sachs Theorem

Abstract: The Petrov classification is an important algebraic classification for the Weyl tensor valid in 4-dimensional space-times. In this thesis such classification is generalized to manifolds of arbitrary dimension and signature. This is accomplished by interpreting the Weyl tensor as a linear operator on the bundle of p-forms, for any p, and computing the Jordan canonical form of this operator. Throughout this work the spaces are assumed to be complexified, so that different signatures correspond to different reality conditions, providing a unified treatment. A higher-dimensional generalization of the so-called self-dual manifolds is also investigated. The most important result related to the Petrov classification is the Goldberg-Sachs theorem. Here are presented two partial generalizations of such theorem valid in even-dimensional manifolds. One of these generalizations states that certain algebraic constraints on the Weyl operator imply the existence of an integrable maximally isotropic distribution. The other version of the generalized Goldberg-Sachs theorem states that these algebraic constraints imply the existence of a null congruence whose optical scalars obey special restrictions. On the pursuit of these results the spinorial formalism in 6 dimensions was developed from the very beginning, using group representation theory. Since the spinors are full of geometric significance and are suitable tools to deal with isotropic structures, it should not come as a surprise that they provide a fruitful framework to investigate the issues treated on this thesis. In particular, the generalizations of the Goldberg-Sachs theorem acquire an elegant form in terms of the pure spinors.
A Generalization of the Goldberg-Sachs Theorem and its Consequences

Abstract: The Goldberg-Sachs theorem is generalized for all four-dimensional manifolds endowed with torsion-free connection compatible with the metric, the treatment includes all signatures as well as complex manifolds. It is shown that when the Weyl tensor is algebraically special severe geometric restrictions are imposed. In particular it is demonstrated that the simple self-dual eigenbivectors of the Weyl tensor generate integrable isotropic planes. Another result obtained here is that if the self-dual part of the Weyl tensor vanishes in a Ricci-flat manifold of (2,2) signature the manifold must be Calabi-Yau or symplectic and admits a solution for the source-free Einstein-Maxwell equations.
