Abstract: A Orienta o Profissional enquanto área de interven o e pesquisa tem buscado a compreens o de variáveis que interferem na tomada de decis o e no desenvolvimento de carreira. Trata-se de um estudo exploratório entre interesses profissionais e afetos positivos e negativos. Participaram 529 estudantes do ensino médio de escolas públicas e particulares com idades entre 14 a 27 anos (M=16; DP=1,48). No que se refere ao sexo, 223 (42,2%) eram homens e 306 (57,8%), mulheres. Os instrumentos aplicados foram a EAZ - Escala de Afetos de Zanon e a EAP - Escala de Aconselhamento Profissional. Os participantes apresentaram maiores médias para afetos positivos, o que indica julgamento mais positivo da vida, de modo geral. A compara o entre os instrumentos revelou alguns coeficientes positivos e significativos, mas de baixa magnitude. Sugere-se que novos estudos sejam realizados com os construtos da Psicologia Positiva na orienta o profissional e desenvolvimento de carreira. La Orientación Profesional como área de intervención e investigación ha buscado entender la comprensión de variables que interfieren en las decisiones y en el desarrollo de carrera. Se trata de un estudio exploratorio entre intereses profesionales y afectos positivos y negativos. Participaron 529 estudiantes de la Ense anza Secundaria de escuelas públicas y privadas con edades entre14 a 27 a os (M=16; DP= 1,48). En lo referente al sexo, 223 (42,2%) eran hombres y 306 (57,8%) mujeres. Los instrumentos aplicados fueron la Escala de Afetos de Zanon - EAZ y la Escala de Aconselhamento Profissional - EAP. Los participantes presentaron promedios mayores para los afectos positivos, lo que indica juicio más positivo de la vida, en general. La comparación entre los instrumentos mostró algunos coeficientes positivos y significativos, pero de magnitud baja. Se sugiere que nuevos estudios sean realizados con los constructos de la Psicología Positiva en la orientación profesional y desarrollo de carrera. Professional Orientation while field of research and intervention has sought to comprehend variables which interfere in decision making and career development. This study investigates the relationship between professional interests and positive and negative affects. A total of 529 public and private high school students, 223 men (42.2%) and 306 (57.8%) women, ages between 14 and 27 (M=16; DP=1.48) participated. Each volunteer was given the EAZ - Zanon Affect Scale and the EAP - Professional Counseling Scale. Participants presented higher averages in positive affects, which indicates a more positive outlook

Abstract: This study aimed to conduct a survey of the scientific literature published in databases of scientific journals regarding the affectivity in education. To develop this study, the methodology used was the literature research with systematic review. Therefore, we performed a search on the bases and books in August 2012, from selection and exclusion criteria and terms defined a priori, with the scope of analysis a total of 09 articles that had their texts analyzed. The data were collected from participants from the states of S o Paulo (5 items), Pernambuco (2 articles) and Bahia (2 articles). The aim of this study contribute to further research on the subject.
A Golod-Shafarevich Equality and p-Tower Groups

Abstract: All current techniques for showing that a number field has an infinite p-class field tower depend on one of various forms of the Golod-Shafarevich inequality. Such techniques can also be used to restrict the types of p-groups which can occur as Galois groups of finite p-class field towers. In the case that the base field is a quadratic imaginary number field, the theory culminates in showing that a finite such group must be of one of three possible presentation types. By keeping track of the error terms arising in standard proofs of Golod-Shafarevich type inequalities, we prove a Golod-Shafarevich equality for analytic pro-p-groups. As an application, we further work of Skopin, showing that groups of the third of the three types mentioned above are necessarily tremendously large.
p-Tower Groups over Quadratic Imaginary Number Fields

Abstract: The modern theory of class field towers has its origins in the study of the p-class field tower over a quadratic imaginary number field, so it is fitting that this problem be the first in the discipline to be nearing a solution. We survey the state of the subject and present a new cohomological condition for a quadratic imaginary number field to have an infinite p-class field tower (for p odd). Under an additional hypothesis, we refine this to a necessary and sufficient condition and describe an algorithm for evaluating this condition for a given quadratic imaginary number field.

Abstract: Este estudo teve como objetivo buscar evidências de validade convergente-discriminante para o teste Avalia o dos Tipos Profissionais, de Holland (ATPH), com vistas a verificar as rela es com a Escala de Aconselhamento Profissional (EAP). A amostra foi composta por 42 estudantes dos ensinos fundamental e médio de escolas públicas e particulares. A idade variou entre 11 e 26 anos, sendo que participaram 43% de alunos do sexo masculino, 50%, do feminino, e 7% que n o informaram o gênero. Os resultados sugeriram correla es significativas entre as dimens es do EAP e as tipologias do ATPH, com magnitudes que variavam de baixas a moderadas. A partir dos dados coletados, concluiu-se que o ATPH pode ajudar na identifica o dos interesses de estudantes em processos de orienta o profissional e que as evidências de validade foram favoráveis. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo buscar evidencias de validez convergente-discriminante para la prueba Evaluación de los Tipos Profesionales, de Holland (ATPH), con vistas de verificar las relaciones con la Escala de Consejería Profesional (EAP). La muestra estuvo compuesta de 42 estudiantes de los ciclos primario y secundario de escuelas públicas y particulares. La edad varió entre 11 y 26 a os, y participaron 43% de alumnos del sexo masculino, 50%, del femenino, y 7% que no informaron el género. Los resultados sugirieron correlaciones significativas entre las dimensiones del EAP y las tipologías del ATPH, con magnitudes que variaban de bajas a moderadas. A partir de los datos recolectados, se concluyó que el ATPH puede ayudar en la identificación de los intereses de estudiantes en procesos de orientación profesional y que las evidencias de validez fueron favorables. The present study aimed to search convergent-discriminant validity evidences for Holland's test Avalia o dos Tipos Profissionais (ATPH) by verifying its relations with the Escala de Aconselhamento Profissional (EAP). The sample was composed by 42 elementary school and high school students, from public and private schools. The age ranged from 11 to 26 years old, with 43% men, 50% women and 7% that didn't mention their gender. The results suggested significant correlations between EAP dimensions and ATPH typologies, ranging from low to moderated magnitudes. From the collected data, it's possible to conclude that ATPH can help to identify the interests of the students that undergo career counseling and that its validity evidences were favorable.
Health care priority setting: principles, practice and challenges

Abstract: This paper presents a detailed step by step guide for carrying out a priority setting process based on the PBMA framework. This guide is based on the authors' experience in using this approach primarily in the UK and Canada, but as well draws on a growing literature of PBMA studies in various countries.At the core of the PBMA approach is an advisory panel charged with making recommendations for resource re-allocation. The process can be supported by a range of 'hard' and 'soft' evidence, and requires that decision making criteria are defined and weighted in an explicit manner. Evaluating the process of PBMA using an ethical framework, and noting important challenges to such activity including that of organizational behavior, are shown to be important aspects of developing a comprehensive approach to priority setting in health care.Although not without challenges, international experience with PBMA over the last three decades would indicate that this approach has the potential to make substantial improvement on commonly relied upon historical and political decision making processes. In setting out a step by step guide for PBMA, as is done in this paper, implementation by decision makers should be facilitated.In most countries, health care is managed and administered by health organizations that have the responsibility to meet, as best they can within a limited funding envelope, the health needs of a pre-defined population. This worldwide phenomenon has been brought into focus by various health care reforms and other system-level developments. In essence, as there are more claims on resources than there are resources available, some form of priority setting must occur [1].
