Transmission analysis of long-period fiber grating with trapezoid index modulation

Abstract: The long-period fiber grating (LPG) with trapezoid index modulation is presented as a novel grating. The influence of the difference between the top width and the bottom width (simplified to d in the following text) of the trapezoid index modulation on the transmission characteristics is analyzed. Calculated results show that the resonance location displaces to the long wavelength when the d increases. Compared with the long-period fiber grating with rectangle index modulation, the advantage of this novel grating is that it needs a smaller refractive index change. When d is zero, this model can be used to simulate the LPG with a rectangular index modulation, and the theoretical results are in good agreement with the experimental ones.
Facile Fabrication of Ultrafine Copper Nanoparticles in Organic Solvent

Abstract: A facile chemical reduction method has been developed to fabricate ultrafine copper nanoparticles whose sizes can be controlled down to ca. 1 nm by using poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) as the stabilizer and sodium borohyrdride as the reducing agent in an alkaline ethylene glycol (EG) solvent. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) results and UV–vis absorption spectra demonstrated that the as-prepared particles were well monodispersed, mostly composed of pure metallic Cu nanocrystals and extremely stable over extended period of simply sealed storage.

Effects of Krill Oil on serum lipids of hyperlipidemic rats and human SW480 cells

Abstract: Except for higher dose group, body weights decreased significantly. Total cholesterol (TC), LDL-cholesterol (LDL-C) of all dose groups, Triglycerides (TG) of low and mid dose groups descended significantly, while there were no significant differences of HDL-cholesterol (HDL-C), compared with control group. Treatment of colon cancer cells with KO also resulted in time-dependent inhibition of cell growth.Our findings indicated that the consumption of KO may provide benefits to control serum lipid levels in certain diseases and inhibit growth of colon cancer cells. Therefore, KO may be a good candidate for development as a functional food and nutraceutical.Antarctic Krill are ancestors of clayfish and prawn. They have a slow evolutionary speed, and are not good at swimming. They are distributed in Vancouver saigan sea area, Russia, Ukraine and so on. They have the largest amount of protein among all organisms so far, over 16% in wet weight while over 65% in dry weight. Antarctic KO contain more than 30% of essential eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA, C:20:5, n-3) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA, C:22:6, n-3) as well as astaxanthin (provitamin E) in concentrations of 200 – 400 ppm [1]. Besides, they also have abundant phospholipids, flavonoids, vitamin A, Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), astacin and other nutrients [2].Cardiovascular disease (CVD) and colon cancer incidence are known to be closely related to dietary factors [3]. As the modern medical science indicated, CVD had become the first killer of people's health. And diabetes, CVD and hypertension often cluster [4,5]. All kinds of dangerous factors, including change of life style, dietetic habit, indicate that the morbidity of coronary heart disease in China will rise quickly in the future. Abstract: 主要研究了具有交错Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya(DM)相互作用的反铁磁Heisenberg链的纠缠.基于 density-matrix renormalization group(DMRG)的数值计算表明,交错DM相互作用消除了系统在外磁场H=2处的二级量子相变,从而量子纠缠反常行为也随之消失;同时纠缠范围的发散也被消除,意味着该模型因子化点的消失.交错DM相互作用导致系统在任意强场下也不会达到铁磁饱和状态,从而保持着自旋纠缠.交错DM相互作用有利于通过外场调控纠缠程度和纠缠范围.

Abstract: Command protection engineering is the important component of national protection engineering system. To raise the level of its construction, a deformation prediction model is given based on Genetic Algorithm (GA), Least Square Support Vector Machines (LSSVM) and markov theory. Genetic algorithm is used to improve the parameter of LSSVM. Markov predict method is used to improve the precision of the prediction model. Finally, be used to a certain command protection engineering, the accuracy of the algorithm is improved obviously. The model is proved to be credible and precise.

A Rigorous and Completed Statement on Helmholtz Theorem

Abstract: There are some limitations on the statement of classic Helmholtz theorem although it has abroad application. Actually, it only applies to simply connected domain with single boundary surface and does not provide any conclusion about the domain where discontinuities of field function exist. However, discontinuity is often encountered in practice, for example, the location of surface sources or interface of two kinds of medium. Meanwhile, most existing versions of Helmholtz theorem are imprecise and imperfect to some extent. This paper not only tries to present a precise statement and rigorous proof on classic Helmholtz theorem with the accuracy of mathematical language and logical strictness, but also generalizes it to the case of multiply connected domain and obtains a generalized Helmholtz theorem in the sense of Lebesgue measure and Lebesgue integral defined on three-dimensional Euclidean space. Meanwhile, our proof and reasoning are more sufficient and perfect. As an important application of the generalized Helmholtz theorem, the concepts of irrotational and solenoidal vector function are emphasized. The generalized Helmholtz theorem and the present conclusion should have important reference value in disciplines including vector analysis such as electromagnetics.
