Araújo, Júlio César;
Linguagem em (Dis)curso , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S1518-76322012000100009
Abstract: in this essay, i propose a theoretical-methodological journey that permits to substantiate a possible reflection about the phenomenon of discursive genre grouping. therefore, i undertake an analysis of the arguments of marcuschi (2000) and bakhtin ([1929] 2002) about the groups of genres. although there are discrepancies between both proposals for conceiving a constellation of genres, it is possible to establish a consensual point between these researchers in that both highlight the tendencies of the genres to variations and transmutations. the effects of this analysis permit the conclusion that a study which will undertake the characterization of a genre constellation must be structured from three fundamental thematic axles: the sphere(s) of communication in which such genres adapt themselves; the tracks left during its process of formation and the communicative purposes attended by each genre inside the constellation.
Araújo, Júlio César;
Linguagem em (Dis)curso , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S1518-76322008000200006
Abstract: this paper discusses the assumption that forbidden language and its associated taboos are dissolved when it comes to the digital environment of chats. the discussion is based on the sociolinguistic perspective of dino preti (1983; 1992; 2000; 2001), and on the enunciative perspective of benveniste ([1974] 1989). these perspectives were chosen since they help in the analysis of extracts of interaction via chat, taking into consideration words associated with slang, obscenity, blasphemy, swearing and rudeness, used both in the chatters' nicknames and in their conversations. the data analysis indicates that the non-identification of participants through the use of their nicknames is one of the most productive elements to the "free" use of marginal language, which is not only restricted to the limits of verbal language, but also to other semioses employed by the users.

Besides, we will conjoin all this work with the military structures of the imperial host, the most important tool of politics in the Holy Roman Empire.
Existiu um projeto Imperial de História? Otto de Freising e a Chancelaria de Frederico I Barbarossa
Vinicius César Dreger de Araújo
Brathair , 2005,
Abstract: In this paper, we aim to discuss some aspects of the historical literature of the Hohenstaufen period through questions related to the study of the Gesta Frederici I Imperatoris, written by the Bishop Otto of Freising and the cleric Rahewin.Our analysis will focus on the following aspects of the document: its origin, the thematic resemblance with other texts, the use of documental sources and its possible uses as propaganda and court literature.In summary, the problem of the historical literature in the Hohenstaufen period, especially the Gesta Frederici, encompasses the criticism of the nature of such sources and their peculiarities. Here, we will discuss some of the hypothesis we are working on, in order to deepen the knowledge of this fascinating problem of the Medieval German History.
Identification of Premature Ventricular Contraction (PVC) Caused by Disturbances in Calcium and Potassium Ion Concentrations Using Artificial Neural Networks  [PDF]
Júlio César Dillinger Conway, Caroline Araújo Raposo, Sergio Diaz Contreras, Jadson Cláudio Belchior
Health (Health) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/health.2014.611162
Abstract: Abnormalities in the concentrations of metallic ions such as calcium and potassium can, in principle, lead to cardiac arrhythmias. Unbalance of these ions can alter the electrocardiogram (ECG) signal. Changes in the morphology of the ECG signal can occur due to changes in potassium concentration, and shortening or extension of this signal can occur due to calcium excess or deficiency, respectively. The diagnosis of these disorders can be complicated, making the modeling of such a system complex. In the present work an artificial neural network (ANN) is proposed as a model for pattern recognition of the ECG signal. The procedure can be, in principle, used to identify changes in the morphology of the ECG signal due to alterations in calcium and potassium concentrations. An arrhythmia database of a widely used experimental data was considered to simulate different ECG signals and also for training and validation of the methodology. The proposed approach can recognize premature ventricular contractions (PVC) arrhythmias, and tests were performed in a group of 47 individuals, showing significant quantitative results, on average, with 94% of confidence. The model was also able to detect ions changes and showed qualitative indications of what ion is affecting the ECG. These results indicate that the method can be efficiently applied to detect arrhythmias as well as to identify ions that may contribute to the development of cardiac arrhythmias. Accordingly, the actual approach might be used as an alternative tool for complex studies involving modifications in the morphology of the ECG signal associated with ionic changes.
Araújo, Júlio César;Dieb, Messias;
Educa??o em Revista , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-46982010000300020
Abstract: this article concerns the use of the digital genre of electronic forum in the literacy and production of academic texts course at the federal university of ceará - brazil, in which the objective was to develop skills in the comprehension and production of academic texts, specifically scientific articles. to this aim, students learned, in classes where they were physically present, about the genre of scientific article and its most widely used rhetorical devices. from these classes, students began to produce their own texts, at which point the forum served as a didactic tool for the appropriation of knowledge regarding the article. results demonstrated that the learning about article production was very significant and collaborative, as the students satisfactorily used the multimodal resources available through the forum, and critically analyzed the texts of other students in the group, confirming that they perceived the successes and failures, and therefore, became more attentive to their own production.
Araújo, Júlio César;Costa, Rafael Rodrigues da;
Linguagem em (Dis)curso , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S1518-76322011000200005
Abstract: some theories concerning presupposition (strawson, 1952; keenan, 1971) in enunciates and enunciation scenes (maing uenea u, 2008) are revisited in this article, which aims to identify how and where the pragmatic presuppositions appear in a corpus formed by four videos uploaded on youtube repository. such videos are part of a viral phenomenon of the internet. all of them reproduce the same scene from the movie the downfall, adding subtitles in which the original content of the movie is replaced by dialogues about contemporary subjects. the analysis authorizes us to conclude that the adolf hitler character, the leading role in the mentioned movie, is transformed via changes in comprehensive and generic scenes, from which it is possible to re-introduce him in certain contexts. in that process, presuppositions emerge in satirical or mocking ways.
