Determination of Polyphenols Content in Carob Pulp from Wild and Domesticated Moroccan Trees  [PDF]

Abstract: Carob (Ceratonia siliqua L.) fruit pulp from 12 wild and 8 domesticated trees from 15 Moroccan localities were investigated for their polyphenols contents: total polyphenols content (53.22 - 118.04 mg and 57.46 - 183.31 mg), total flavonoids (1.41 - 4.83 mg and 1.62 - 7.46 mg) and condensed tannins (1.47 - 7.36 mg and 1.85 - 6.66 mg) in one carob fresh pulp for wild and domesticated trees, respectively. Fruit pulp from trees in the same region shows variable contents in polyphenols, flavonoids and condensed tannins.

Abstract: The present study is about in vitro culture of cork oak, through callogenesis from nodes and internodes, withdrawn from seedlings of three months. These latter were obtained after acorns germination on peat. Nodes showed a high capacity for callogenesis and the best rate was obtained on a medium containing Woody Plant Medium (WPM) macronutrients, Murashige and Skoog (MS) micronutrients and vitamins, 4.5 μM of 6-Benzylaminopurine (BAP), 7 μM of 2-naphthalineacetic acid (NAA) and 30 g/L of Sucrose. Calluses are transplanted onto the same mineral solution, with or without growth regulators, and in the 3rd transplanting; small white embryos appear on the surface of calluses.

Abstract:
The effect of temperature (18°C - 30°C), water activity (0.85 - 1) and pH (4 - 9) was studied by dual culture technique on the antagonism of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens and Trichoderma harzianum to Colletotrichum acutatum, responsible of strawberry (Fragaria x ananassa (Weston) Duchesne ex Rozier) anthracnose. The antagonistic bacteria’s strains behave significantly and differently according to the parameters studied. These results reveal useful information about the applicability of their biocontrol in agricultural culture with the change of environmental factors.

Abstract: Adventitious budding from embryonic cotyledons of immature seeds of carob was obtained. The combination of BAP (4.44 μM) and NAA (1.5 μM) furthered the neoformation of adventitious buds. These latter were multiplied on MS medium added with BAP (2.22 μM). Stems and leaves growing were improved by adding 2.02 μM GA3. Elongation was favored by 0.5 μM NAA. 70% of rooting was obtained with 10 μM IBA.

Abstract: Le Maroc est l’un des rares pays d’Afrique du Nord à disposer d’un ensemble d’écosystèmes endémiques d’une biodiversité remarquable. Ces écosystèmes sont sérieusement menacés par l’expansion et le développement de certains secteurs comme le tourisme, l’agriculture et l’urbanisation. Conscient de l’importance de ces écosystèmes dans le développement durable, l’UNESCO a distingué certains d’entre eux par le Label du Patrimoine Mondial en leur donnant le statut de Réserve de Biosphère . Cette contribution tente d’examiner l’expérience marocaine en matière de politique des espaces protégés à partir de l’exemple de la Réserve de Biosphère de l’Arganeraie. Morocco is one of the few countries in North Africa to have a range of ecosystems endemic biodiversity remarkable. These ecosystems are seriously threatened by the expansion and development of certain sectors such as tourism, agriculture and urbanization. Recognizing the importance of these ecosystems in sustainable development, UNESCO has identified some of them by the World Heritage label by giving them the status of "Biosphere Reserve". This contribution attempts to examine the Moroccan experience in policy areas protected from the example of the Biosphere Reserve of Arganeraie.
Optimal Multi-Modes Switching Problem in Infinite Horizon

Abstract: This paper studies the problem of the deterministic version of the Verification Theorem for the optimal m-states switching in infinite horizon under Markovian framework with arbitrary switching cost functions. The problem is formulated as an extended impulse control problem and solved by means of probabilistic tools such as the Snell envelop of processes and reflected backward stochastic differential equations. A viscosity solutions approach is employed to carry out a finne analysis on the associated system of m variational inequalities with inter-connected obstacles. We show that the vector of value functions of the optimal problem is the unique viscosity solution to the system. This problem is in relation with the valuation of firms in a financial market.
Deterministic Minimax Impulse Control in Finite Horizon: the Viscosity Solution Approach

Abstract: We study here the impulse control minimax problem. We allow the cost functionals and dynamics to be unbounded and hence the value functions can possibly be unbounded. We prove that the value function of the problem is continuous. Moreover, the value function is characterized as the unique viscosity solution of an Isaacs quasi-variational inequality. This problem is in relation with an application in mathematical finance.

Abstract: In this paper we study the optimal m-states switching problem in finite horizon as well as infinite horizon with risk of default. We allow the switching cost functionals and cost of default to be of polynomial growth and arbitrary. We show uniqueness of a solution for a system of m variational partial differential inequalities with inter-connected obstacles. This system is the deterministic version of the Verification Theorem of the Markovian optimal m-states switching problem with risk of default. This problem is connected with the valuation of a power plant in the energy market.

Abstract: We consider the problem of impulse control minimax in finite horizon, when cost functions $(C(t,x,\xi)>0)$. We show existence of value function of the problem. Moreover, the value function is characterized as the unique viscosity solution of an Isaacs quasi-variational inequality. This problem is in relation with an application in mathematical finance.

Abstract: We consider the problem of optimal multi-modes switching in finite horizon, when the state of the system, including the switching cost functions are arbitrary ($g_{ij}(t,x)\geq 0$). We show existence of the optimal strategy, and give when the optimal strategy is finite via a verification theorem. Finally, when the state of the system is a markov process, we show that the vector of value functions of the optimal problem is the unique viscosity solution to the system of $m$ variational partial differential inequalities with inter-connected obstacles.
