Acta Paulista de Enfermagem , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-21002009000600015
Abstract: objective: to determine if brazilian nurses have knowledge of politics and technologies for the administration of health care and nursing services. method: a integrative literature review was conducted using the lilacs, medline, scielo, bdenf, and paho databases. the key words "administration of health care," "health technology," and "health care technology and nursing," limited to publications in portuguese, spanish, and english were used to search the databases. results: eleven publications from 2003 to 2007 were retrieved. nurses could articulate well in the nursing services and had technical competencies for professional nursing practice; however, they were fragile politically; this limited their professional autonomy and made them to be subordinated to other health care professionals. conclusion: advancement and continuing changes in health care, particularly in the organizational and technical-scientific levels, require nurses to develop and strengthen their political, management, and leadership skills to participate equally in a interdisciplinary leadership team.

Meirelles, Betina H?rner Schlindwein;Erdmann, Alacoque Lorenzini;
Texto & Contexto - Enfermagem , 2005, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-07072005000300013
Abstract: this article is the result of a synthesis about interdisciplinarity in constructing knowledge and practices in health care and nursing, considering the multiple dimensions which involve the health and illness processes and health promotion in communities. the objective of this study is to propitiate better comprehension about the complexity and dynamism of the reality that demands professionals to establish interrelationships among their actions, aiming for effective health promotion. the concepts of health are still fragmented, resulting in reducing professionals' actions toward prevention to controlling illness without considering the individuals' daily life context. whereas, the professional that establishes the interrelationships between disciplines will be able to face the complexities and wholeness of healthy living process. from this comprehension, the author suggests knowledge construction based on a health care/nursing context that meets individuals' necessities and facilitates the development of a net partnership between social actors, seeking better health and life conditions for individuals.

Chirinos, Narda Estela Calsin;Meirelles, Betina H?rner Schlindwein;
Texto & Contexto - Enfermagem , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-07072011000300023
Abstract: this integrative literature review aimed to simultaneously evidence concepts and to show the factors associated with non-adherence to tuberculosis treatment in scientific publications from 2000 to 2009. data was collected from the virtual health library/lilacs and scielo websites, using the descriptors: patient giving up treatment, patient treatment refusal, patient cooperation, and adherence to medication, cross-referencing them with the descriptor "tuberculosis". the search resulted in 219 articles. after observing inclusion and exclusion criteria, nine articles were left to compose the sample. data analysis formed two categories: conceptualizing abandoning tuberculosis treatment and factors associated with abandoning tuberculosis treatment. tuberculosis treatment was considered to be abandoned if the use of such medication was interrupted for thirty days or more. the following associated factors were considered relevant: socio-demographics, related sicknesses/illnesses, and health care. the nursing staff/health care approaches should focus on interactive and more humane care, directed towards increasing adherence to treatment.
