EURE (Santiago) , 1999, DOI: 10.4067/S0250-71611999007400004
Abstract: this paper achieves an analysis of the unbalances between different regions, starting with the analysis of some variables of the financial system, viewed as the sector through which the transfer of the economic surplus produced by one region to another represents the benefits for some regions and the sacrifice the of other. in this analysis, two regions are analysed, one is the exporter region and the other one is the importer of economics and financial resources: the first one is the zulia region, and the other is the capital region. these unbalanced conditions are revealed in different ways. thereby, we find that the "importer" region has higher rates of growth, higher levels of income, lower rates of unemployment, and higher rates of capital/product, etc. on the other hand we find that the "exporter" region has higher levels of stalemate. the first point to be analyzed are the unbalanced conditions in the analysis of the economical and financial resources, because we begin with the premise that resources support, promote or the other hand, limit and stop the process of development of the region. the importance of the analysis is to know and define the causes that originate unbalanced conditions in order to design corrective actions in order to find a more balanced regional structure and with higher growth and development potentia
Interdisciplinaria , 2009,
Abstract: the flow is described as a positive and gratifying state of consciousness. the flow is associated with the perception of high challenges in the task at hand and personal skills high enough to face those challenges. also is described it as a situation of high concentration, involvement, enjoyment, absorption in the task, unselfconsciousness, control, and clear-cut feedback on the course of the activity. people is involved in the task for its own sake, regardless of extrinsic rewards or social approval -in other words, on the basic of intrinsic motivation. a balance of high challenge and high skill defines the conditions where optimal experience is most likely to occur, but does not necessary describe the experience of flow. "experientially, flow is characterized not only by a balance of challenges and skill but also by deep concentration, loss of self-consciousness, and deep engagement" (hektner, schmidt & csikszentmihalyi, 2007, p. 46). in this investigation three explanatory theoretical models of the optimal experience are presented. the first model intends that the optimal experience is only a factor compound for the eight characteristics that define the flow. the second model intends that the characteristics that compose the optimal experience could be summarized in two factors: the first factor would include affective experiences and cognitive experiences during realization of the activity and the second factor would be given by achievement perception and ability perception of the task. finally, the third model exposes that, would be necessary four factors to explain the flow experience: capacity cognitive, positive affective experience, ability perception and achievement perception, during the realization of the activity. the objective of this work is to investigate which of the three theoretical models has a better adaptation to the empiric data. the sample was composed by 1585 children and adolescents, between 9 and 15 years, students of public and private sc
Abstract: health care professionals who work at critical care units (ccu) constitute a key group in the process of obtaining organs for transplantation. for this reason, and with the purpose of understanding the set of variables associated to the process involved in identifying potential organ donors, a survey was conducted among professionals from ccu in three important hospitals in lisbon. a multivariate model has been elaborated using logistic regression analysis. according to the model, variables associated to the process of identifying a potential organ donor are: perception of the level of information about organ donation and transplantation; when information about this topic was received in the year prior to the present research; perception about own capability to assess a patient as a potential organ donor; perception about the amount of work when an organ donor is identified; perception about the attitude of next-of-kin toward organ removal; and perception about the reversibility of the brain death.
El individuo y sus máscaras
Ideas y Valores , 2009,
Abstract: this essay works on the opposition between face and mask, where 'face' is understood as that which makes every human being singular, and makes visible her or his unique worth, while 'mask' is understood as whatever hides that singularity, and refers to a category, stereotype or cliché. the etymological history that relates face and mask to the concept of person, and the history of modern portrait painting, which alternates representations of face and mask, both lead to a discussion with authors who diagnose a contemporary "defeat of the face" as a result of the crisis of humanism and of ethical individualism, which give meaning and dignity to that face.
Mora,Nazarena Belén;
Av?? , 2008,
Abstract: this article intends to reflect on the classification practices, or the ways of "putting each thing in its place" that state bureaucracies assumed during the last dictatorship in argentina (1976-1983). in particular, it will inquire on the ways that certain bureaucrats vested with state authority adopted to classify detained-disappeared people beyond the "daily world", in the scenery of two institutions of mar del plata city: a hospital and a police headquarter. and, to what extent this wasn't an intention to create a state of "normality" in a situation by all means "abnormal".
Malavé Osuna,Belén;
Revista de estudios histórico-jurídicos , 2005, DOI: 10.4067/S0716-54552005000100005
Abstract: this paper addresses the complicated issue of the historical-dogmatic reconstruction of the governmental juridical statute of the low roman empire, regarding only the criteria that ruled the recruitment and promotion of the administrative personnel of low and high hierarchy. in fact, such a statute can be only hypothesized, since the available sources, in particular constitutions under imperialisms, show the non-restricted nature of the hierarchical rules as well as the lack of calling in them supposedly present in all juridical regulations, uniformity and generality. from constantine to justinian, rules were established, often oscillating and barely objective, even subject to the discretional power of the head of service in order to discipline the entry to and promotion of the positions in the imperial administration, revealing by then a strong bureaucracy. besides, the need for such criteria was not perceived per se in the political power but rather as a mere vehicle leading to the eradication of a social phenomenon, a widely spread practice, which steadily used to buy off the offices and positions in the administration.
Malavé Osuna,Belén;
Revista de estudios histórico-jurídicos , 2008, DOI: 10.4067/S0716-54552008000100005
Abstract: this work attempts to deepen into the serious urban problem of the initiated construction site and not definitely finished, analysing the corrective measures established by the lower imperial legislator and its social repercussion in the ivth and vth century. this study has been organized in various different parts, depending on the cause that triggers the abandonment of the construction site; basically, lack of financing and ceasing of the maximum urban authority with competence in the matter, in their task or term of office. for each of these cases a different measure is established, sometimes of great transcendence and present relevance, as, for example, the re-utilization of noble materials coming from demolitions in the construction site that needs to be finished.
Abstract: modern citizenship is materialized by the constitutional body of the xix century. with the national states, the nationalist notion of citizens transformed the idealized ?society of individuals? into ?a community of identical beings?. it is demonstrated that, in spite of the legal status, citizenship is a ?shared culture?, a sacred identity due to the nationalist notion of the nation and national identity, on which has been built a vision of homogeneity based on symbols and common traditions inherited from occidental modernity. the proposal is to transform its notions and social practices, into a social citizenship based on ethics and values in order to confront these ?invented traditions?.
Abstract: the object of this investigation is to test a theoretical model that proposes that students' interest in school tasks, as well as the perception of abilities to develop those tasks and the perception of the challenges that these activities present, have an important impact on the optimal experience in the educational environment. the pattern also proposes that although the optimal experience is a complex construct formed by different characteristics, these can be grouped in three factors: perception of achievement, cognitive activation and affective quality. this model was tested by means of structural equation modelling. additionally, the effect of the voluntary election of the activity on the three factors that compose the optimal experience has been studied by means of the use of anovas. the sample was composed of 295 students aged 9 to 15 from public and private schools of medium socioeconomical level. the results indicate that the theoretical pattern was well adjusted to the empiric data. at the same time, the resulting data of the analysis of the variance support the hypothesis that the voluntary election to carry out the activity affects the optimal experience.
