Study of Work-Travel Related Behavior Using Principal Component Analysis  [PDF]
Cira Souza Pitombo, Monique Martins Gomes
Open Journal of Statistics (OJS) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/ojs.2014.411084
Abstract: The main objective of this study is to analyze work travel-related behavior through a set of variables relative to socio-economic class, urban environment and travel characteristics. The Principal Component Analysis was applied in a sample consisting of workers of the S?o Paulo Metropolitan Area, based on the origin-destination home interview survey, carried out in 1997, in order to: 1) examine the interdependence between travel patterns and a set of socioeconomic and urban environment variables; 2) determine if the original database can be synthetized on components. The results enabled to observe relations between the individual’s socio-economic class and car usage, characteristics of urban environment and destination choices, as well as age and non-motorized travel mode choice. It is then concluded that the database can be adequately summarized in three components for subsequent analysis: 1) urban environment; 2) socio-economic class; and 3) family structure.
Modeling and Numerical Simulations with Compressible Damaged Hyperelastic Law: Application to the Laminated Rubber Bearing  [PDF]

Materials Sciences and Applications (MSA) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/msa.2012.311119
Abstract: Hyperelastic model with damage induced compressibility is implemented in the ABAQUS software using the subrou- tine Umat. A thermodynamic model is proposed taking into account the nonlinearity of the material behavior. Within the present work, the behavior of laminated rubber bearing structure is studied for two geometrical sets of materials (A-type and equivalent material) under complex monotonic loading conditions. A new geometric edge of laminated rubber bearing is proposed in order to reduce the development costs of the structure. The proposed model allowed finding a good homogenized damage distribution for the same overall stiffness.
The Local Government Behavior Analysis in Development of Chinese New Energy Industry—Taking Hebei Provincial Government as an Example  [PDF]
Haoxin Dong, Hui Zhao
American Journal of Industrial and Business Management (AJIBM) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/ajibm.2017.75047
Abstract: China’s new energy industry has been developed rapidly under the support of the government. It is of great practical significance to study the local government’s support for the development of new energy industry in the tax sharing system. The article is through the combination of questionnaire and fuzzy mathematics method to analyze the social public satisfaction with local government’s new energy policy, to provide a better reflection of local government policies to promote the development of new energy industry.

Abstract: jealousy is something present in everyday life and in different relational contexts (such as family, school, and work). it is more common and frequently studied in the context of love affairs, being categorized as sexual jealousy or romantic jealousy. in spite of that, our understanding of this phenomenon is still limited. in brazil, the scientific production on jealousy is limited and essentially based on clinical dada. by contrast, the american scientific production on this subject is more extensive and frequently based on empirical data. additionally, it is also correct to say that studies on jealousy are rare in context of behavior analysis. considering that, the purpose of the present paper is to improve a preliminary behavior analytic approach of jealousy presented elsewhere by the first author of this paper in 2005, incorporating skinner's argumentation on the topic as well as ideas of contemporary behavior analysts such as tourinho (a brazilian researcher) and donahoe and palmer (north american researchers).

Abstract: the literature shows that although young people have sufficient knowledge about contraceptive methods, the frequency of their use is low. this study investigated the use of condoms and possible controlling variables of this behavior in students aged between 13 and 18 years old. a structured questionnaire was used, the results of which suggested that: (1) adolescents demonstrated that they followed rules that encourage the behavior of not using condoms, (2) parents or guardians do not control this behavior punitively, (3) health services provide little reinforcement in clarifying doubts about sexuality and obtaining condoms. the influence of individual history and cultural practices on the results was analyzed.

Abstract: the objective of this investigation was to carry out a bibliometric analysis of the pre graduate and post graduate theses about behavior therapy and behavior modification, which had been concluded until the year 2003 (included) in the universities of the city of bogotá (capital of colombia) that offered the career of psychology. with this purpose they were analyzed on the basis of the following variables: to) number of theses found per decade, b) theses number for director, c) number of theses for each one of the implemented behavior therapy and modification techniques and programs, d) number of theses for each one of the problems that was approached by these theses, e) theses number per decade corresponding to each one of the implemented techniques and programs and f) theses number per decade belonging to each one of the problems that was approached. in total 119 theses corresponding to eight universities of the city were analyzed, which involved 30 therapeutic techniques or programs and 50 problems approached through this techniques or programs. the results were discussed in terms of the evolution that has exhibited the behavior therapy and behavior modification approach during the studied period.

Abstract: the anxiety manifested by the child during the dentistry treatment constitutes a potentially harmful element to the accomplishment of the treatment. the aim of this study was to describe and analyse 10 mother's behavior during sequential sessions of their children's dental treatment. all sessions were recorded in videotape biped every 15 second interval, indicating the moments that the records of the behaviors would be carried out. a behavioral repertoire general plotting allowed to point common standards to all the participants and specific standards, larger anxiety indicators of some participants. proportionally, the invasive anesthesia procedure evoked escape behaviors indicators larger frequency and/or mothers dodge. the pediatric dentistry, careful with parents' behaviors, can adopt strategies that reduce parents' anxiety, increasing behaviors frequency children's collaborating with the treatment.

Abstract: in 2008 we celebrated the 70th anniversary of skinner's publication - the behavior of organisms. the present work is inspired by a review of the book published by philip n. hineline in the journal of the experimental analysis of behavior. some characteristics of the book and of behavior analysis that make behaviorism incomprehensible for some and menacing for others are discussed. the issue discussed is complex and has many derivations. the features of skinner's work, and possible reasons for its misunderstanding, will be only briefly presented. a more complete account of the theme may be found in the literature cited in this work.

Journal of Service Science and Management (JSSM) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/jssm.2016.92013
Abstract: When the new career, the feature of which was boundaryless career attitudes, organizational mobility preference, self-directed and values-drive had appeared in employees, the new subject of the current academic and organizational practices faced was what actions the leader should take to guide the behavior of employees effectively, even to improve job performance. On the basis of reviewing the existing literature, a theoretical framework of leadership task behavior and relational behavior, work alienation and job performance had been proposed in this study by using leadership behavior theory. Questionnaire data were collected from employees by paired data and analysis data using SPSS17.0 LISREL8.7. Regression analyses revealed insignificant relationships between the leadership task behavior, relational behavior, and job performance, and work alienation partially mediated this relationship. This study not only enriches the theory of leadership behavior, but also has a guide and reference for the leadership and management practices of enterprises.
