Abstract: As a multi-dimensional indicator that captures the quality of life and wellbeing, the level of life satisfaction is very important for designing future policy The present analysis will focus on the study of life satisfaction based on the Romanian respondents’ opinions and feelings about family life, work and society. We will look at the infl uence of several factors on the level of life satisfaction: quality of life, fi nancial situation of the individual, position in society, life in different regions of Romania. The data used in our analysis is selected from the Eurobarometer survey responses. The Eurobarometer is a survey organized and launched periodically by the European Commission and it was designed to help understand various dimensions of the social, economic and political strategies, as well as future EU policies.
Life Satisfaction among Elderly Households in Public Rental Housing in Singapore  [PDF]
Kwame Addae-Dapaah, Quah Shu Juan
Health (Health) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/health.2014.610132
Abstract: We set out to investigate how satisfied the poor elderly Singaporean households in social housing are with their lives, especially in relation to their housing, in an attempt to find measures to improve, where possible, the life satisfaction of this group of elderly Singaporeans. We use archival and empirical research for our investigation. The results from 403 respondents to our survey are analyzed through logistic regression and factor analysis. We find that the life satisfaction of the elderly residents of social housing is very low. Furthermore we find that home modification that meets the requirements of the respondents will substantially improve their life satisfaction. Given that these elderly households neither have the right nor financial means to modify their housing units and precincts, it is incumbent upon the government, through the relevant authorities such as HDB, Town Councils and BCA to effect the necessary home modifications to create a more elderly-friendly physical environment to improve the life satisfaction of the elderly households in social housing in Singapore. This arguably is a social imperative which should not be subjugated to economic niceties as social housing is not a luxurious housing choice but the last safety net for basic shelter.

Journal of Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences , 2007,
Abstract: Introduction: Many organizations, especially service oriented ones, relative to their goals and mission, have a special view towards quality phenomena and its management. Methods: This paper analyzes medical service quality in one case; The internal section of Shaheed Rahnemoon Hospital Based on the basis of gap analysis model and Servqual technique. A questionnaire was designed and applied to measure expectations and perceptions of patients and personnel of the hospital. Results: On application of non-parametric statistical tests, we propose certain recommendations. These tests drive on five conceptual dimensions of service quality including intangibility, responsiveness, reliability, assurance and empathy. Results show that patients in this section were satisfied from the service provider’s responsiveness, but there are significant differences between expectations and perceptions in other dimensions. Conclusion: The service quality analysis models are useful for managers of medical centers to distinguish gaps between the two sides of service representation; patients and medical centers personnel. Ultimately, they can reinforce strengths and control weaknesses.
Intera??o de atributos atrativos e obrigatórios de um servi?o na satisfa??o do cliente

Produ??o , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-65132008000100009
Abstract: kano model distinguishes service attributes in three types: basic, excitement and performance attributes. this work has as objective to verify how these attributes interact to proportionate satisfaction to customers. a full factorial experiment, using a sample of 152 customers of video rental stores, was used to study the interaction among four attributes (two basic and two excitements). the results show that the excitement attributes had less impact on customer satisfaction if the basic attributes were not fulfilled. the managerial implication of these results is that service companies should identify and fulfill the basic attributes in order to the excitement attributes having full impact on customer satisfaction.

Abstract: This study aims at identifying the factors affecting the customers demand for ATM services, by analyzing sample of 450 consumers’ responses who have been interviewed personally through structured survey in 3 districts of Uttar Pradesh India. The results indicate that graduated and employed male customers who belong from higher income groups and having a bank account preferably in public sector bank are greatly emphasized to use of the banking services. Significant positive influence of the characterized socio-economic attributes on the use of ATM service was found. The service occupied customers significantly more emphasized to the use of ATM services. Noticeable, the banking attributes such as account type, convenience, number of services offered, and cost of banking services don’t have very attentive influence on the use of advanced IT based banking services.
Integrate Kano`s Model and IPA to Improve Order-Winner Criteria: A Study of Computer Industry
Yu-Cheng Lee,Cheng-Chien Cheng,Tieh-Min Yen
Journal of Applied Sciences , 2009,
Abstract: The aim of study is to establish a new methodology of IPA to improve order- winner criteria and win orders. Importance-performance analysis (IPA) model has been widely used as the primary tool for market research and business improvement. However, traditional IPA model has important hidden assumption, that is performance and satisfaction have a linear relationship. Under these assumptions, if the quality characteristics cannot meet the above-mentioned assumption, the IPA model will not accurately analyze the importance and priority ranking for improvement, leading to wrongful decision making. This study puts forth a new decision making and analysis methodology that will, on one hand, exploit the Kano`s Model to establish nonlinear relationship between quality characteristics and customer satisfaction, when quality characteristics are functional and dysfunctional. On the other hand, the analysis will adjust the importance of quality characteristics according to the effect of quality characteristic improvement on customer satisfaction. The modified IPA model takes the nonlinear relationship between quality characteristics and customer satisfaction into consideration, not only boosting effectiveness of the IPA model, but also retaining the simple decision making pattern of traditional IPA models. Finally, the study takes a case of industrial computers in Taiwan to address the application and effect of IPA methodology modified by Kano`s model.

Journal of Signal and Information Processing (JSIP) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/jsip.2013.43B006

For target detection algorithm under global motion scene, this paper suggests a target detection algorithm based on motion attention fusion model. Firstly, the motion vector field is pre-processed by accumulation and median filter; Then, according to the temporal and spatial character of motion vector, the attention fusion model is defined, which is used to detect moving target; Lastly, the edge of video moving target is made exactly by morphologic operation and edge tracking algorithm. The experimental results of different global motion video sequences show the proposed algorithm has a better veracity and speedup than other algorithm.

Modern Economy (ME) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/me.2013.49060

Background: The customer satisfaction models are used to examine brand loyalty and sales. The utilization of the counter medicines depends directly on the level of knowledge of consumers, preferences and their satisfaction could be considered as an important predictor for their revenue. Objectives: The goal of the current study is to develop a Markov model for assessing the influence of the customer satisfaction on long term sales of leading OTC international nonproprietary names (INNs) of analgesics on the national market. Methods: Two first-order stationary Markov models based on marketing data for OTC analgesics sales and customer satisfaction inquiry, particularly from metamizole (MET), paracetamol (PAR), acetysal (ASA), and ibuprofen (IBU) were created and manipulated. The first model considered the very satisfied customers and the second the very satisfied and the somewhat satisfied customers. Results: MET is the INN with the most loyal customers followed by PAR. The product Markov matrix was derived after multiplications of the matrixes with market share and loyal customers’ probabilities. The steady state is achieved after 17 years for the group of satisfied customers and after 40 iterations for the group of somewhat satisfied. The market fluctuations are more dynamic in the second model probably due to lower determination of customers purchasing behavior. Conclusions: The model allows prediction of the long term changes in sales, differences between the groups of customers and long term marketing fluctuations. It could be useful in companies’ strategic sales management.
