Abstract: the objective of this study was to evaluate the yam yield, cultivar da costa, fertilized with bovine manure doses and biofertilizer. the experimental design was randomized blocks, in subdivided plots 6 x 2 + 1 with three repetitions. in plots six doses of cattle manure (0; 6; 12; 18; 24 and 30 t ha-1) were tested, factorially combined with the presence and absence of biofertilizer and in subplots, two forms of application of biofertilizer in the soil and by spray on the leaf and an additional treatment with conventional fertilization (animal manure and npk). the doses of 30 t ha-1 of bovine manure and the biofertilizer which was applied in the soil and leaf produced tubers with ideal average weight for the commercialization. the bovine manure in doses of 19.2 t ha-1 and in the absence of biofertilizer provided maximum productivity of 20.3 t ha-1 of commercial tubers. subplots in which the biofertilizer was applied to the soil and leaf, the dose of 30 t ha-1 of cattle manure was responsible, respectively, for maximum yields of 22.8 and 24 t ha-1 of commercial tubers. the organic and conventional fertilizations did not cause any significant change in the mean tuber weight, but the conventional fertilization increased the productivity of commercial tuber.
Prevalence of DF508, G551D, G542X, and R553X mutations among cystic fibrosis patients in the North of Brazil

Abstract: Cystic fibrosis (CF) is the most common genetic disease among Caucasians and is rare among sub-Saharan Africans. The Brazilian population is not ethnically homogeneous but it is the result of three-way ethnic admixture of Europeans, Africans and Amerindians in varying proportions, depending on the region. In the present study, we investigated 33 patients who had been diagnosed and are currently under treatment for CF at the University Hospital Jo o de Barros Barreto, Belém, Pará State. The molecular analysis for G542X, G551D and R553X mutations was performed by PCR followed by RFLP using BstNI, HincII and MboI, respectively, in polyacrylamide gel eletrophoresis and stained with AgNO3. ThedeltaF508 mutation (a deletion of 3 bp) was only analyzed by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and stained with AgNO3. Each sample was analyzed for regions of interest in the CFTR gene using amplified by PCR and specific primers. The deltaF508 and G551D mutations presented frequencies of 22.7 and 3%, respectively. In 74.3% of the remaining patients, none of the mutations investigated was found. The present study characterized in a sample of patients with an established clinical diagnosis of CF (asthma, repeated bronchopneumonia, disorders of nutritional status, etc.) the most frequent mutation ( deltaF508) in the North region of Brazil and is also the first report of the G551D mutation. In spite of the wide spectrum of CF mutations and the heterogeneous ethnic origin of the Amazon population, the molecular diagnosis is a helpful additional tool for the diagnosis and treatment of CF patients.

Etiology and management of storage rot of ginger in Himachal Pradesh
N.P. DOHROO
Indian Phytopathology , 2012,
Abstract: Pythium ultimum, Fusarium oxysporum and Verticillium chlamydosporium were found associated with storage rot of ginger. The disease was noticed in storage pits from January, which reached its maximum intensity in April at IS.SoC temperature and 67.S per cent relative humidity. Studies on the effect of pre-storage treatments on storage rot of ginger revealed that the pre-storage treatment with Topsin-M and Bavistin
Chronic pain: Model of psychosomatic disorder (review)
Chernus N.P.
Saratov Journal of Medical Scientific Research , 2011,
Abstract: The article presents a detailed review on epidemiology, pathogenesis and interrelation of serotonin neuromedia-tor metabolism in the central nervous system in state of chronic pain and depression. It has been demonstrated that neurophysiological conditions serve as psychological defense of an individual. That mechanism has been proved to transform serious emotions onto the inner level (body) and it assists in the development of psychosomatic disorders — chronic pain syndrome
APPLICATION OF THE COGNITIVE MODELING FOR ANALYSIS OF THE ECOLOGICAL AND ECONOMICAL EFFICIENCY OF THE URBAN PLANNING PROJECT / ПРИМЕНЕНИЕ КОГНИТИВНОГО МОДЕЛИРОВАНИЯ ДЛЯ АНАЛИЗА ЭКОЛОГО-ЭКОНОМИЧЕСКОЙ ЭФФЕКТИВНОСТИ ГРАДОСТРОИТЕЛЬНЫХ ПРОЕКТОВ

Abstract: Criterion of the ecological and economical efficiency of the urban planning project, taking into accounts the uncertainty and ambiguity of the input information and allowing analyzing the optional versions development of the processes, is proposed. Fundamentals of the methodology of integral analysis of the ecological and economical efficiency of the urban planning project based on cognitive modeling are identified.

Abstract: Here considered the dynamics of the road pavements evenness decreasing in process of road exploitation. On this basis developed the technique of the asymmetric property an empirical material account and offered the way of an estimation of adequacy of Weibull distribution to the empirical data.

Semi Numerical Solution for a Boundary Value Problem  [PDF]
N.P. Pai, N. N. Katagi, Krishna B. Chavaraddi
American Journal of Computational Mathematics (AJCM) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/ajcm.2013.31006
Abstract:

The flow of viscous incompressible fluid through a tube is considered. The similarity transformation is used to reduce the governing equations into nonlinear ordinary differential equation. The solution procedure includes application of long series analysis with polynomial coefficients. The series representing physical parameters (\"\" ) reveal qualitative features which are comparable to pure numerical results. The analysis enables in extending region of validity. A complete description of the solutions is presented.

Journal of Minerals and Materials Characterization and Engineering (JMMCE) , 2010, DOI: 10.4236/jmmce.2010.95033
Abstract: The urea adduct with the guests of m-nitrobenzoic acid, m-nitroaniline and p-xylene mixtures by adductive crystallization was successfully grown by slow evaporation method. The single crystals obtained were non-hygroscopic and good in size. The crystal structure of the grown crystal has been determined, and it belongs to the monoclinic system with centrosymmertic space group P21/c. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopic studies were performed for the identification of guest components in the compound. The optical absorption spectrum has been recorded in the range 200-1100 nm. The mechanical behavior of the specimen was studied.
