González-Torres, Marina Liliana;López-Espinoza, Antonio;Valerio Dos Santos, Cristiano;
Revista mexicana de análisis de la conducta , 2010,
Abstract: the objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of two types of stress, chronic or acute, in either controlled or uncontrolled situations, on body weight, food, and water consumption in rats. acute stress consisted of two sessions of 60 electric shocks and chronic in 12 sessions of 10 shocks. subjects exposed to the controllable situation could finished the shock with a specific response, and the group uncontrollable was yoked to the uncontrollable group. control group was kept in its box-room. the results were: reduction of the body weight during exposure to acute stress and a slowdown in the rate of body weight increase during chronic stress, as well as a reduction in the consumption of both food and water during exposure to both acute and chronic stress. the effects observed with chronic stress were more evident robust in males than in females. there were no differences between groups exposed to controllable and uncontrollable stress. these results are discussed in relation to the hypothesis of regulatory change and behavioral ecology.
Un análisis del proceso de aprendizaje social en animales no humanos: situaciones apetitivas versus aversivas [An Analysis of Social Learning Process in No Human Animals: Appetitive Versus Aversive Settings]
Rosalva Cabrera Casta?on,Cristiano Valerio Dos Santos
Universitas Psychologica , 2012,

Cidadania e educa??o ambiental
Reigota, Marcos Antonio dos Santos;
Psicologia & Sociedade , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-71822008000400009
Abstract: this article examines the political, ecological and educational facts of president lula's first term (2002-2006) and argues that there was a political and ethical crisis that weakened the representation of citizenship built by social movements during the struggle against dictatorship (1964-1984). considering this, it questions the role of environmental education as political education, of which the principal fundamentals are citizenship and ethics, indicating some of the challenges for forming a new generation of environmental educators.
Santos, Carlos Antonio Costa dos;
Revista Brasileira de Meteorologia , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-77862011000100008
Abstract: the objective of this study was to determine the daily actual evapotranspiration (etr) of the tamarisk vegetation using micrometeorological data and sebal model. data originating from the bowen ratio method were used, besides the sebal model applied to tm landsat 5 image for obtaining the daily etr of the tamarisk vegetation of lower colorado river, ca/usa. for obtaining the reference evapotranspiration (et0) the fao/penman-monteith method was used. the results show characteristics of strong air advection and that the solar radiation has the largest influence in obtaining et0, as well as, that the tamarisk vegetation has high water demand and its fast expansion can bring negative impacts for the rivers of the area. the estimates of etr through the sebal model are similar to the measured values on the micrometeorological tower by the bowen ratio method, demonstrating the applicability of the sebal model to obtain the spatial distribution of the daily actual evapotranspiration.

Abstract: the main objective of this study was to obtain analysis of the trends in eleven annual extreme indices of temperature for utah, united state of america (usa). the analyses have been obtained for 28 meteorological stations, in general, for the period of 1930 to 2006, characterizing a long-term period and with high quality data. the software used to process the data was the rclimdex 1.0. the analysis has identified that the temperature increased in utah during the last century, evidencing the importance of the ongoing research on climate change in many parts of the world.

Abstract: the present research sought to examine the condition of black women professors in higher education in private universities in the city of sorocaba - sp, from 2000 to 2007, through their respective trajectories and narratives, focused on three aspects: gender, race, schooling. our goal was to verify the political and professional integration of black women as higher education professors. the narrative analysis of their trajectories and the quantitative data allow us to affirm that the condition of black women as university professors is that of exclusion. a closer look at the trajectories and narratives of three black women, university professors in sorocaba, reveals a history of neo-racism in brazil. we believe that when black women become more present, as professors at universities and in social positions and professions that weren't allowed before, this will promote the construction of several identities, with new manners of existence and representations that will contribute to the consolidation of a pluralistic society.
