Abstract:

The presence of illicit drugs and their metabolites in surface waters has to be considered a new type of hazard, still unknown, for both the human health and the aquatic ecosystem, due to the potent pharmacological activities of all the illicit drugs. Our research was aimed at evaluating the presence of illicit drugs in the Sarno River (Campania region, Italy), crossing a densely populated area, the basin of the Sarno River, one of the largest and most important economic areas in Campania region, famous for the presence of zones with high landscape-environmental value. The drugs selected for this study were the most used in Campania region. The presence of illicit drugs in surface water was analyzed by a selective multi-residue assay based on liquid chromatographytandem mass spectrometry. The analysis showed the presence of all the illicit drugs investigated: cocaine and its main metabolites (benzoylecgonine, nor-benzoylecgonine), morphine, THC-COOH and codeine; cocaine was the most abundant illicit drug. The presence of illicit drugs and their metabolites in the Sarno River suggests new potential risk for the basin’s inhabitants, using water in the food chain, via field irrigation and animal feed, and for the health of the aquatic fauna.

Abstract: one of the current practices used by businesses, regarding increased productivity, quality and the reduction of product development lead time, is the involvement of suppliers. there are strong indications that this participation increases productivity and reduces both the development lead time and the possibility of delays in the project, and facilitates the incorporation of new technologies. one of the most conflicting points is how great the effect is in terms of quality of the product design. to evaluate this two case studies in automotive suppliers were conducted. in each one, the variables of integration and scope in development projects were compared between the company which produces specific auto parts and four of its clients which assemble vehicles, evaluating their influence on the quality of product design. the main results are: the formal mechanisms of client-supplier collaboration in product development were homogeneous, comparing several clients of one supplier; the increase of the scope positively affected the quality of the product design.

Abstract: the collaborative product development is essential for companies to increase the innovation degree of their products. companies must follow the critical success factors (csf) in order to achieve the expected results. there is a set of papers that identified critical success factors (csf) for collaborative projects; however, there is no paper verifying those factors in brazil, especially in the agricultural machinery industry. this article aims to verify whether the csfs identified in the literature could be used in this context. a bibliographical review was carried out to identify a csf list. after that, a single case study was developed, using the project as unit of analysis. two successful and collaborative projects were evaluated. the results described new csfs and reinforced others, as factors related to relationship equality and universality.

String Dilaton Fluid Cosmology
S. Capozziello,G. Lambiase,R. Capaldo
Physics , 1998, DOI: 10.1142/S0218271899000183
Abstract: We investigate $(n+1)$-dimensional string-dilaton cosmology with effective dilaton potential in presence of perfect-fluid matter.We get exact solutions parametrized by the constant $\gam$ of the state equation $p=(\gam-1)\rho$, the spatial dimension number $n$, the bulk of matter, and the spatial curvature constant $k$. Several interesting cosmological behaviours are selected. Finally we discuss the recovering of ordinary Einstein gravity starting from string dominated regime and a sort of asymptotic freedom due to string effective coupling.

Caetano,Mauro; Bezerra de Araújo,Juliano; Capaldo Amaral,Daniel;
Journal of technology management & innovation , 2012, DOI: 10.4067/S0718-27242012000200003
Abstract: the use of technology development process (tdp) models by the enterprises can contribute to the usage control of natural resources of technologies before or after its integration on products, services or processes. although the choice of a technology can consider the use of some performance metrics to identify their eco-efficiency, the literature about technology development models neglects this element. based on a qualitative analysis of existing models, this paper proposes a conceptual model for the adoption of eco-efficiency indicators in the tdp by the innovation managers, distributed in three different stages: the initial stage, during the planning of a technology, the intermediate stage, at the technology development, and the final stage, at the technology transfer. future research, such as prioritizing the indicators and the extent of the present analysis to other sustainability dimensions are suggested for structuring a sustainable model of tdp.
