Abstract: this article describes a period of time when the concept of specialized collecting did not yet exist (15th-17th century), when text and image, form and content were to be found together in one ensemble. in the wunderkammer (chambers of wonders) and wunderkabinett (cabinets of wonders) of the late modern age, exotic objects, stuffed animals, paintings, prints, printed matter and manuscripts were gathered in the same space, reflecting an attempt to grasp the knowledge of the world. men like manoel severim de faria in portugal and jer?nimo de mascarenhas in spain, both contemporaries of the iberian union, are among those who owned private libraries. such men represented a kind of renaissance scholar that disappeared with the advent of classification and scientific methods used in "collecting" and disseminated as of the second half of the 17th century.

O sentido da política em Hannah Arendt
Torres, Ana Paula Repolês;
Trans/Form/A??o , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-31732007000200015
Abstract: based upon hannah arendt?s thought, we aim to demonstrate that political action is not the means to an end, but a synonim of "freedom". from this starting point, the author remarks the traditional identity between politics and violence, through a critical approach of the identity - found in the very beginning of phylosophical thought of the question - between freedom and will, that is, the desire to do what we want. in this way, arendt is able to work two dimentions of political action, the agonistic dimention and the consensual dimention, defining the latter as mutually guaranteed freedom.

This paper studies the influence of the anodic coating thickness on the fatigue properties. Fatigue tests are carried out in four points bending on samples of rectangular section. The material used is aluminum alloy high-strength AA7075-T6 subjected to a sulfuric anodizing surface treatment. The coating thicknesses were 2, 5 and 10 μm. For each type of material were evaluated fracture curves SNP of 1%, 50% and 99% probability of fatigue fracture. The results show that with increasing thickness is reduced the dispersion of results in the range of finite life. Referring to the coating material 2 μm, the coatings 5 and 10 μm on the aluminum alloy improve the fatigue behavior in the range of finite life. Furthermore, fatigue limit increases by 11% in the alloy with 10 μm coating compared to the raw material.
A “corrupcao” do Sistema Penal: o caso brasileiro

Abstract: We seek, in this article, from a sociological analysis of criminal law, to reflect on how social exclusion influences the very configuration of the crime and the criminal. Our hypothesis, based on the Systems Theory of Niklas Luhmann, is that there is, especially in the so-called “periphery” of modernity, a ‘corruption’ of the criminal system, in that it operates with distinctions that are alien to it, including only people who are excluded from other social sub-systems. We base the research on official data on the Brazilian criminal and penitentiary system, these data corroborating the impressions derived from field research.

The use of laser therapy is one of the most effective tools in the prevention and treatment of skin ulcers. It is an effective treatment choice because it potentiates the trophic regenerative, anti inflammatory, and painkiller effects. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of low level laser therapy in treating induced cutaneous ulcers in rats. An experimental study using 12 female Wistar rats (Rattus novergicus), weighing between 150 and 250 g, from the room of animal husbandry at the Center of Health Sciences of UNIFOR. Rats underwent surgery to induce cutaneous ulcer. Subsequently, the animals were divided into two randomized groups: 1) Control group; and 2) Experimental group. They received nine applications of AlGaInP laser treatment (power of 30 mW) with an intensity of 4 J/cm2, using the scan method, for 15 seconds over the entire ulcer. The cicatrization process was evaluated from the 1st to 19th postoperative (PO) day, but on alternate days. The results showed that animals treated with laser had less area of cutaneous wound than the control group from the 7th until the 17th postoperative day, highlighting the 7th and the 9th PO with a significant reduction in wound area of 28.8% (p = 0.00) and 23,5% (p = 0.01), respectively. Treatment with the AlGaInP laser was effective in the repair of cutaneous wound when compared to the control group—particularly on the 7th postoperative day.

Abstract: a brief description of the underground coal gasification (ucg) process, combined with the possibility of co2 sequestration, is presented. although nowadays there are very few active industrial ucg plants, a number of new projects are under way in different parts of the world aimed to produce regular gas fuel derived from ?in situ? coal combustion, despite the environmental advantages resulting from this process. a brief review of those projects is included. the possibility of underground co2 storage, either with or without simultaneous ucg, is analyzed by taking into consideration the main challenges of its application and the risks associated with integrated solutions, thus requiring innovative solutions.
Compacidade do suporte ceramico cru versus propriedades do revestimento ceramico cozido

Abstract: compactness is the ratio between the dry and real density of the ceramic artifact. this is an important property in the ceramic process, since the greater the compactness, the less need for pore closure in the sinter stage. the main factors that influence compactness are: particle size distribution, granule size and shape, mold filling method, humidity, and compacting pressure. the compacting pressure was modified in order to vary the compactness of the samples, which consisted primarily of red clay from the rio claro (sp-brazil) region in the sedimentary deposit of the corumbataí formation. to understand the initial compacting influence, the physical properties of water absorption, linear shrinkage, open porosity, closed porosity, total porosity, bulk density and bending strength of the fired bodies were determined. the results indicated that, for artifacts composed of illitic clays with a relatively high content of hematite (± 4.5%), there was greater compactness at a lower firing temperature to obtain tiles with the same patterns of water absorption. however, a compactness between 0.66 and 0.69 decreased the risk of over firing occurrence, while the higher compactness tested (0.71-0.72) was excessive, increasing over firing susceptibility.
