Psicologia: Reflex?o e Crítica , 2004,
Abstract: Nowadays work learning is becoming more and more relevant, a fact that leads to training investiments. This research aimed to evaluate this system and to do so 300 companies from Sao Paulo state with more than 100 employees were investigated. The questionnaires have been sent by mail and returned in 60 days, the maximum. The results show little control in training expenses, since 44,67% of the companies do not know the amount spent in training; 70,33% of the companies confirm that they systematically analyze the training needs, while 73,67% control the efficiency of training. The most used way of controlling training is informal feedback (50,33%). Future needs of training are located in the business administration and strategy areas, (12,22%), personnel management and supervision (11,78%). Although many companies have recognized the need of learning new abilities, the resources invested in training are not enough systematized enough, then requesting more attention.

Ajustando o foco atencional de alunos adultos a itens gramaticais opacos: conectivos concessivos
Marques, Ana Lúcia Pitanguy;
Revista Brasileira de Linguística Aplicada , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S1984-63982010000400003
Abstract: this paper shows the core - the methodology - as well as the quantitative analyses and promising findings of an investigation on the effects of redirecting adult learners' attentional foci to specific areas of a foreign language - english. the work carried out to trigger learners' awareness and 'noticing' of the concessive connectives in subordinate clauses took place during classroom practice and was implemented through a series of thematically-integrated tasks. those aimed at exposing learners to a treatment focus that was more recurrent and salient. the findings suggest that activities which triggered the 'noticing' of the treatment foci were the main responsible for the significant changes in the use of the target structures in the written texts, and possibly for the rise of the participants' level of linguistic competence in their written production.

Cadernos de Saúde Pública , 2006, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-311X2006000500015
Abstract: this paper describes the clinical and epidemiological profile of patients with chagas disease treated in outpatient and inpatient departments at the maringá university hospital (uhm) in paraná state, brazil, from may 1998 to may 2003. mean age was higher among hospitalized patients (p < 0.000). hospitalized patients were predominantly males, as opposed to inpatients who were mostly females (p = 0.0033). of the 95 patients, 60% were born in the states of minas gerais and s?o paulo and 25.3% in paraná. family history for chagas was positive in 68.9%, while 53.3% reported the presence of triatomine vectors in the household. in decreasing order, the most common clinical forms were cardiac, digestive, indeterminate, and cardiodigestive. the indeterminate form predominated among outpatients, as opposed to the cardiac and digestive forms among inpatients. chronic cardiac and digestive complications were the principal complaints at hospital admission. this study showed particularly high percentages of cardiac (38.9%) and digestive disease (26.3%) as compared to other geographic areas. the maringá university hospital provides symptomatic care for these complications and does not prioritize etiological treatment, even for patients in the indeterminate phase.

Brazilian Journal of Microbiology , 2003, DOI: 10.1590/S1517-83822003000500012
Abstract: in this study, for detection of methicillin-resistant s. aureus (mrsa), a meca multiplex pcr-based amplification was compared with the 1 μg oxacillin disk diffusion test, detection of minimal inhibitory concentration (mic), and screening in agar with 4% nacl and 6 μg/ml oxacillin. among 24 isolates obtained from blood, meca gene was detected in only 16 (66.7%) isolates by multiplex pcr. the mic test showed a range of resistance to oxacillin from 0.19 to 512 μg/ml, among these isolates. data obtained by screening and dilution tests showed that sensitivity to methicillin was 80.0% and 72.8%, respectively, when compared with the presence of meca gene (multiplex). all isolates, including the negatives, when revaluated for meca gene by pcr were positive. b-lactamase production was positive for 20/25 isolates (80.0%). about ? of patients died dispite most of them (83.3%) were adequately treated. the simultaneous identification of the bacteria and determination of this susceptibility to antibiotics are necessary for the choice of empiric antibiotic therapy in suspected staphylococcal sepse, but is important to considering the sensibility, specificity and validation of the available kits.

Ciência Rural , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-84782011001200004
Abstract: the quality of seed is crucial to the success of pasture formation. thus the aim of this research was to evaluate the performance of brachiaria decumbens seeds pelleted and treated with fungicides and insecticides during storage. the seeds were treated with thiabendazole at a dosage of 200ml 100kg-1 of seeds, with fipronil at a dosage of 500ml 100kg-1 of seeds and a mixture of both (in the same dosages) and some was not subjected to such treatment (control). subsequently the seeds were coated using a mixture of sand, microcellulose and glue cascorex - pva (20%). after coating the seeds were stored under ambient conditions (21.9°c and 68% of relative humidity) for 12 months. seeds were evaluated initially and every four months, through the following determinations: moisture, germination index, germination speed, emergence test, and emergence speed index. the coating of the brachiaria decumbens seeds with sand and microcellulose decrease the rate and speed of germination and seedling emergence during storage. the seed of the brachiaria decumbens cv. 'basilisk' treated with fipronil, thiabendazole, or both, should not be stored for more than eight months.
