This is a descriptive, qualitative study. A collection was done through semi-structured interview and analysis of the speeches, conducted by content technique proposed by Bardin, emerging from the screening process. Ten mothers aged between 21 and 42 years old participated in the study. Three categories were identified: prescriptive and focused attention on the disease; for collaborative and focused attention on the person; uniprofessional attention to the multidisciplinary attention; establishment of relationship between the family health strategy and the specialized outpatient care. The women experienced chronic conditions according to the Model in addition to blindness. Study results show that for blind women, attention in the health service has weaknesses in service, both in the prenatal period and childbirth, and in childcare. It deems necessary transformation in assisting the blind woman.

Abstract: One of the activities of the programme of control of cervical uterine cancer (CUC) is the education in health . Thus, any action to control the CCU without the participation of the educational component that reaches the population of women will be successful. The explanation on the examination of a more intensive facilitates a better understanding of the process nullifying the construction of negative reviews about it. The increase in the provision of services, in the prevention and treatment of cases of CUC will have its limited scope, if women do not return to get the results of the examination. This study aims to: assess the effects of an educational intervention on the Pap test, in relation to the rate of return of women to receive the results; check the knowledge, attitude and practice of women with respect to the examination of Papanicolaou and describe the process education for women who awaiting the completion of the examination of Papanicolaou based on the model of adult education proposed by Paulo Freire. This study will be experimental, the type randomized clinical trial, conducted in a Centre for Family Health (CFH) from Fortaleza-CE. The study population will be composed by women belonging to the area of that CESAF. Women participating in the study will be randomly selected for the control group and the intervention group. Abstract: Objective: The objectives were to characterize the scientific production on Health-Related Quality of Life of pregnant women, identify the areas that are most affected during pregnancy and puerperal period and identify the instruments used to assess quality of life related to health in pregnant women. Methods: For the integrative review, 11 articles published from 2006 to 2013 in the PUBMED, MEDLINE, CINAHL, SCOPUS and SCIELO were selected. Result: Data showed scarce publication from nursing professionals, prevalence of non-experimental studies conducted mainly in Brazil. The most commonly instruments used were the WHOQOL-BREF and SF-12. The presence of pain, nausea and vomiting, depression, low education, younger age and absence of partner negatively affect the quality of life of pregnant women. Practicing physical activity and being socially supported during pregnancy favour a better quality of life. In the domain of social relations, sexuality was the only affected facet. Conclusion: Gaps in the level of evidence considered weak were identified. We suggest bigger role of nurses in research on the subject so that there will be the development of effective interventions to support nursing practice and ensure quality care and consequently improve the quality of life of women in pregnancy and childbirth.

Journal of Biomedical Science and Engineering (JBiSE) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/jbise.2015.84027
Abstract: Objective: To evaluate the odds ratio of risk factors of sociodemographic and functional capacity of adults with spinal cord injury. Methods: Analytical, cross-sectional, quantitative study accomplished with a group of 47 people with spinal cord injury in hospitals and 27 in the household. The data were collected through a structured instrument composed of independent variables related to epidemiological and clinical data on spinal cord injury and dependent variables corresponding to the scale of the Barthel Index (BI). The data were analysed with the two-tailed chi-square or Fisher’s exact tests using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences version 20.0 (SPSS Inc., USA). Odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) were used as an estimate of the risk. The level of significance was set at a p value ≤0.05. Results: It was found that males (OR = 4.804, p = 0.041), the education less than ten years (OR = 3.000, p = 0.036), the hospital care (OR = 5.250, p = 0.002) and injury time less than six months (OR = 5.250, p = 0.002) are sociodemographic factors that are associated with the functional capacity of individuals with spinal cord injury. Moreover, the total dependence (p < 0.001) and severe dependence (p = 0.019) are associated with quadricplegia. It was found that males (p = 0.041), the education less than ten years (p = 0.036), attention to hospital health (p = 0.002) and minor injury time less than six months (p = 0.002) are sociode-mographic factors associated with functional capacity of subjects. Conclusion: As a result, it was found that knowing the epidemiological and clinical factors of people with spinal cord injury is relevant to plan the nursing care. In other words, knowing the epidemiological and clinical factors of people with spinal cord injury is relevant to achieve the functional independence of these people, and it was demonstrated that the social determinants of health are interrelated and interdependent of chronic health conditions, as evidenced by the Care Model for Chronic Conditions.

Abstract: The study aimed to analyze the scientific production related to the use of technology in the practices of nursing. This is a bibliographic study of quantitative approach, which used to search in the databases Scielo, LILACS, Medline and BDEnf, in which the descriptors used were technology and educational technology. Twenty-eight articles were selected. Most of the articles, 27 (96.4%), had been published in journals inside the nursing area. It was observed that the articles with the chosen thematic had been published from 2000 onwards. Among the studies, sixteen (57.1%) are related to the development, implementation experience or reports of the use of technologies. Of these, 10 (62.5%) were targeted to own professionals and five (31.2%) towards the patients. As for the type of technology, 11 (68.7%) used harsh technologies. It is perceived the greater interest of nurses in developing and using technology in their practice in the past five years. This consists as a facilitator methodology for the nursing profession and as a benefit for the nursing’s actions improvement.
