Abstract: electrophoresis has been used to aid the evaluation of physiological seed quality of forest species, as isozymes provide fast responses. seeds of copaiba (copaifera langsdorffii) were artificially aged for 0, 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours, in a germination chamber (42o c and 100% ur). the objective of this research was to evaluate possible changes in the electrophoretic patterns of proteins and isozymes during the artificial aging. the artificial aging reduced the germination and vigor of c. langsdorffii seeds, but vigor was affected faster than germination. the electrophoretic patterns showed no difference in the content of soluble and storage proteins, but for esterase and peroxidase isozymes there was reduction in the activity with aging.
GENETIC STRUCTURE OF Copaifera langsdorffii Desf. NATURAL POPULATIONS

Abstract: Three natural populations of Copaifera langsdorffii Desf. were studied by isoenzyme electrophoresis to determine the genetic structure, levels of genetic variability, gene flow and effective size of the populations. The populations are located in the county of Lavras, in Southern Minas Gerais state and are represented by three types of vegetation (Savanna, Riparian forest and Semi-deciduous forest). Samples of leaf tissue were taken from 20 adult plants from each population and from 400 progenies for isoenzyme electrophoresis analysis. Five enzymatic systems were evaluated in adults (24 alleles average) and progenies (29 alleles total). The proportion of polymorphic loci (0,95) among populations was 72.73% to 87.50%. The average number of alleles per locus was 2.2 to 2.5 and the expected heterozygosity ( ) was 0.368 to 0.435. The estimated parameters revealed inbreeding in the adult populations ( = 0.130) and excess of heterozygotes in the progenies ( =-0.033). The genetic diversity index of the populations was 0.142 for the Savanna-Riparian forest, 0.162 for the Riparian Semi-deciduous forest, and 0.073 for the Savanna-Semi-deciduous forest. The gene flow, estimated by the number of migrants ( ), was 0.79 for Savanna-Semi-deciduous forest, 0.38 for Savanna-Riparian forest, 0.32 for Riparian-Semi-deciduous forest and 0.41 for all analyzed populations. The population from the Riparian forest has a relatively high genetic variability and is valuable for genetic conservation of C. langsdorffii.

Abstract: the present research was accomplished in the forest mixed ombrófila of s?o francisco de paula - flona, being this representative of great diversity in the state of rio grande do sul. the objective was to esteem the accumulated burlap collected with four different collecting frames and the amostral intensity in each seasonal station. 15 random samples were collected for each frame by hectare in each seasonal station being separated in the stratus leaves, peels, branches and miscellany. it was used a completely random design in each station, for subsequent accomplishment for the united analysis of the experiments. the means, the variance, and the variation coefficient was calculated for all the strata, being accomplished the test of homogeneity of the variances. through the simple aleatory sampling, being admitted a maximum sampling mistake of 10, 15, 20 and 25% of the esteem means, with 5% of error probability, the sampling intensity was calculated by hectare, for infinite population. the interaction between frame and station, in the joint analysis, was not significant for the total and the stratus, soon the behavior of the frames was the same in the different stations. the variances, verified among inside the frames of the stations, were homogeneous in relation with the accumulation of burlap. the effect of the frames for the total and for the stratus, branches, peels and miscellany they didn't differ to each other, only presenting significant difference in the leaves. there were not significant differences among the frames for the total, the most appropriate was like this the very small frame (0,25m2), and in the winter with 27 samples, in the spring, 25, in the autumn, 33 and in the summer, 15 units, are necessary to obtain 15% of difference between the means.

Abstract: the objective of this study was to identify the most important variables in the evaluation of stored seed quality of exotic forest species of rio grande do sul. information on seed analyses was obtained from the database of the forest research and soil conservation center - fepagro, santa maria/rs. path coefficients were estimated using the variables: lot purity, thousand seed weight, moisture content, percentage of normal and abnormal seedlings, percentage of hard and dead seeds. the percentage of dead seeds and seed moisture are the variables that most influenced the percentage of normal seedlings of exotic forest species of rio grande do sul.
A MULTIVARIATE APPROACH TO ANALYSE NATIVE FOREST TREE SPECIE SEEDS

Abstract: This work grouped, by species, the most similar seed tree, using the variables observed in exotic forest species of theBrazilian flora of seeds collected in the Forest Research and Soil Conservation Center of Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul, analyzedfrom January, 1997, to march, 2003. For the cluster analysis, all the species that possessed four or more analyses per lot wereanalyzed by the hierarchical Clustering method, of the standardized Euclidian medium distance, being also a principal componentanalysis technique for reducing the number of variables. The species Callistemon speciosus, Cassia fistula, Eucalyptus grandis,Eucalyptus robusta, Eucalyptus saligna, Eucalyptus tereticornis, Delonix regia, Jacaranda mimosaefolia e Pinus elliottii presentedmore than four analyses per lot, in which the third and fourth main components explained 80% of the total variation. The clusteranalysis was efficient in the separation of the groups of all tested species, as well as the method of the main components.

Abstract: A eletroforese vem sendo utilizada com a finalidade de auxiliar a avalia o da qualidade fisiológica de sementes de espécies florestais, uma vez que respostas mais rápidas podem ser obtidas usando-se marcadores isoenzimáticos. Sementes de copaíba (Copaifera langsdorffii) foram submetidas a diferentes tempos de envelhecimento artificial (0, 24, 48, 72 e 96 horas), em germinador (42 oC e 100% de UR), tendo como objetivo avaliar as possíveis mudan as nos padr es eletroforéticos de proteínas e isoenzimas, decorrentes do envelhecimento artificial. O envelhecimento artificial ocasionou redu o na germina o e vigor de sementes de C. langsdorffii, sendo o vigor afetado mais rapidamente. Em rela o aos padr es eletroforéticos, n o houve diferen a significativa no conteúdo de proteínas solúveis e de armazenamento, mas, nas enzimas esterase e peroxidase, verificou-se redu o na atividade destas, à medida que as sementes foram envelhecidas.

What happens to the PAR is the mere coordination of actionsby the Union of states and municipalities and non-cooperation regime.

Abstract: demonstration and mental practice are variables capable to enhance the learning of motor skills. the purpose of this study was to show the empirical knowledge produced on demonstration and mental practice studies, as well as, a possible relation between these variables effects in the acquisition of motor skills. the results of studies suggest that these variables act similarly in the process of mental representation of the skill, that will be learned. thus, perhaps the association of demonstration and mental practice can provide an interesting strategy in the acquisition of motor skills.

Abstract: this research had the objectives of clustering, the most similar seeds matrixes by species, using the observed variables in analysis of seed samples of native forest species in the center of forest researches and conservation of the soil, santa maria, rio grande do sul, since 1997 up to march 2001. for the cluster analysis, all the species with four or more seed analysis by analyzed in collected lot, by the hierarchical complete method of the standardized euclidian medium distance as measured of similarity. the dendogram was constructed using the method of complete linkage. the technique of principal components for the reduction of the number of variables was also used. the gender schinus sp. and the native species cassia leptophylla vogel., peltophorum dubium (spreng.) taub., cedrela fissilis vell., allophylus edulis (a. st.-hil., cambess. & a. juss.) radlk., lafoensia pacari a. st. hil., enterolobium contortisiliquum (vell.) morong. e apuleia leiocarpa (vogel) j. f. macbr., were the species in which the third and fourth principal components explained 80% the existent variation of the data with the humidity and percentage of abnormal germination seedlings eliminated in the majority species and the percentage of normal germination seedlings and dead seeds found in all the groups . the cluster analysis was efficient in the separation of the groups of all the tested species and origin influenced a little in the formation.

Abstract: this research was aimed at determining which variables of seed analysis affects most stored seed quality of native species of rio grande do sul state and verify its relationship with germination percentage of normal seeds. data related to seed analysis of eight forest species were obtained from the state foundation for agricultural research and a path coefficient analysis was conducted to obtain the relationship among purity of the lots, weight of a thousand seeds, humidity, percentage of normal and anormalous seedlings, firm and dead seeds obtained from batches stored in the laboratory. the percentage of normal seedling presented higher significant relationships with the variables weight of a thousand seeds, humidity and percentage of dead seeds.
