Raw or boiled Nigella sativa, garlic, or onion significantly inhibited histamine stimulated acid secretion, whereas on basal acid secretion, onion and garlic significantly stimulated secretion but Nigella sativa had no effect. Raw Nigella sativa and garlic showed a significant decrease in the ulcer index when compared with the control at all doses (0.25 g/kg, 0.5 g/kg, and 1 g/kg) tested, whereas onion-only, at doses of 0.5 g/kg and 1 g/kg, significantly reduced the ulcer index. Boiled Nigella sativa showed equal potency to raw Nigella sativa in decreasing ulcer index, but boiled garlic and onion showed reduced potency. The results of this study demonstrate the protective role of raw Nigella sativa, garlic, and onion against ethanol-induced gastric ulcers and gastric acid secretion. Boiling did not affect the protective effect of Nigella sativa on gastric ulcers.

Abstract: The main open question is how to calculate the effect of switching between frequencies in DVFS technique on the lifetime of the cluster components. As moving from one frequency to another in DVFS technique always gives a shock to the component and consequently decreases the component lifetime, therefore, it becomes interesting to answer the question of how fast a component can change its speed in order to decrease power without changing its lifetime.
Computing the $2$-blocks of directed graphs

Abstract: Let $G$ be a directed graph. A \textit{$2$-directed block} in $G$ is a maximal vertex set $C^{2d}\subseteq V$ with $|C^{2d}|\geq 2$ such that for each pair of distinct vertices $x,y \in C^{2d}$, there exist two vertex-disjoint paths from $x$ to $y$ and two vertex-disjoint paths from $y$ to $x$ in $G$. In contrast to the $2$-vertex-connected components of $G$, the subgraphs induced by the $2$-directed blocks may consist of few or no edges. In this paper we present two algorithms for computing the $2$-directed blocks of $G$ in $O(\min\lbrace m,(t_{sap}+t_{sb})n\rbrace n)$ time, where $t_{sap}$ is the number of the strong articulation points of $G$ and $t_{sb}$ is the number of the strong bridges of $G$. Furthermore, we study two related concepts: the $2$-strong blocks and the $2$-edge blocks of $G$. We give two algorithms for computing the $2$-strong blocks of $G$ in $O( \min \lbrace m,t_{sap} n\rbrace n)$ time and we show that the $2$-edge blocks of $G$ can be computed in $O(\min \lbrace m, t_{sb} n \rbrace n)$ time. In this paper we also study some optimization problems related to the strong articulation points and the $2$-blocks of a directed graph. Given a strongly connected graph $G=(V,E)$, find a minimum cardinality set $E^{*}\subseteq E$ such that $G^{*}=(V,E^{*})$ is strongly connected and the strong articulation points of $G$ coincide with the strong articulation points of $G^{*}$. This problem is called minimum strongly connected spanning subgraph with the same strong articulation points. We show that there is a linear time $17/3$ approximation algorithm for this NP-hard problem. We also consider the problem of finding a minimum strongly connected spanning subgraph with the same $2$-blocks in a strongly connected graph $G$. We present approximation algorithms for three versions of this problem, depending on the type of $2$-blocks.
On computing the $2$-vertex-connected components of directed graphs

Abstract: In this paper we consider the problem of computing the $2$-vertex-connected components ($2$-vccs) of directed graphs. We present two new algorithms for solving this problem. The first algorithm runs in $O(mn^{2})$ time, the second in $O(nm)$ time. Furthermore, we show that the old algorithm of Erusalimskii and Svetlov runs in $O(nm^{2})$ time. In this paper, we investigate the relationship between $2$-vccs and dominator trees. We also present an algorithm for computing the $3$-vertex-connected components ($3$-vccs) of a directed graph in $O(n^{3}m)$ time, and we show that the $k$-vertex-connected components ($k$-vccs) of a directed graph can be computed in $O(mn^{2k-3})$ time. Finally, we consider three applications of our new algorithms, which are approximation algorithms for problems that are generalization of the problem of approximating the smallest $2$-vertex-connected spanning subgraph of $2$-vertex-connected directed graph.
Isolasion, Identification and Antimicrobial Resistance Patterns of Salmonella from Meat Products in Tehran

Abstract: The present study was carried out from 400 samples in different slaughterhouses to report the isolation along with the serotypes and antibiogram pattern of Salmonella among products in Tehran. Salmonella was isolated from samples of chicken, beef; veal, mutton, roast beef and sausage fermentive meat collected at slaughterhouses. The isolates were characterized by serotyping and antimicrobial-susceptibility testing. Eighty isolates of Salmonella enterica belonging to 19 serotypes- S. adelaide, S. agona S. abortus ovis, S. abortus bovis, S. derby, S. dublin, S. enteritidis, S. havana, S. heidelberg, S. indiana, S. infantis, S. kentucky, S. montevideo, S. newport, S. saint paul, S. senftenberg, S. typhimurium, S. thompson, S. worthington were obtained with an overall prevalence of 20%. The most strains of Salmonella enterica were isolated from roast beef. S. enterica serotype Thompson and S. enterica serotype typhimurium were isolated most frequently. All of the isolates were resistant to at least one antibiotic and 94% were resistant to at least three antibiotics. Six% were resistant to ceftriaxone, the drug of choice for treating salmonellosis in children. One isolates of S. enterica serotype infantis had resistance to 15 antibiotics and the one isolate of serotype Thompson and one isolate of Serotype havana were resistant to 14 antibiotics. Norfloxacin, cefteriaxone and cefotaxime were most effective, whereas, erythromycin, tetracycline, nalidixic acid, furazolidone and nitrofurantoin were relatively less effective. Resistant strains of Salmonella are common in meat products. These finding provide support for adoption of guidelines for the prudent use of antibiotics in food animals and for a reduction in the number of pathogens present on farms and slaughterhouses. Thus, it is imperative that salmonellosis control measures adopted for humans should give adequate importance to its control in animals particularly their products.

After implementation of one of the algorithms in literature, we tried to find that if CPU usage modelling of a MapReduce application can be used to predict CPU usage of another MapReduce application.
On testing single connectedness in directed graphs and some related problems

Abstract: Let $G=(V,E)$ be a directed graph with $n$ vertices and $m$ edges. The graph $G$ is called singly-connected if for each pair of vertices $v,w \in V$ there is at most one simple path from $v$ to $w$ in $G$. Buchsbaum and Carlisle (1993) gave an algorithm for testing whether $G$ is singly-connected in $O(n^{2})$ time. In this paper we describe a refined version of this algorithm with running time $O(s\cdot t+m)$, where $s$ and $t$ are the number of sources and sinks, respectively, in the reduced graph $G^{r}$ obtained by first contracting each strongly connected component of $G$ into one vertex and then eliminating vertices of indegree or outdegree $1$ by a contraction operation. Moreover, we show that the problem of finding a minimum cardinality edge subset $C\subseteq E$ (respectively, vertex subset $F\subseteq V$) whose removal from $G$ leaves a singly-connected graph is NP-hard.

Abstract: Shielding design is necessary for brachytherapy treatment room in order to protect the general public and employees. The main objective of this study was to investigate whether the protective unit of our Brachytherapy Centre provided adequate protection to the health and safety assessment of radiobiological impact. In this study, we estimated the effect of radiobiological protection from a single Ir-192 brachytherapy source in Brachytherapy center by using MCNP5 Monte Carlo measurements. The room was based on the design specifications for the HDR 192 Ir treatment was modeled. The estimated dose rate range for HDR 192 Ir and public buildings is (0.45 - 0.64): (micro sivert) μSv/hour. Dose rates measured data for the current setup Brachytherapy HDR unit was approved and agreed quiet well with recommendation of International Atomic Energy Agency. The measured dose rate for public areas and controlled areas, compared with the reference value of 7.5 μSv/h and 0.5 μSv/h and concluded that we have enough shielding to the source but an over estimate with experimental measurements had been seen.
