Abstract: A comparative research has been developed for acidity and stability constants of M(TTA)1 and M(Asp)2 complexes which have been determined by potentiometric pH titration. Depending on metal ion–binding properties, vital differences in building complex were observed. The present study shows that in M(TTA) complexes, metal ions are coordinated to the carboxyl groups, but in M(Asp) some metal ions are able to build macrochelate over amine group. Hence, the following intermolecular and as a result independent concentration equilibrium between an open–isomer M(Asp)op and a closed–isomer M(Asp)cl, has to be considered cl op. The amounts are reported. The results mentioned above demonstrate that for some M(Asp) complexes the stability constants is also largely determined by the affinity of metal ions for amine group. This leads to a kind of selectivity of metal ions and transfer them via building complexes with the aspartate. The result of this effect is a higher dosage-absorption of minerals in body. Based on the sort of metal ions, the drug-therapy can be different. For heavy metal ions this building complex helps the absorption and filtration of the blood plasma, and consequently the excursion of heavy metal ions takes place. This is an important method in microdialysis. Other metal ions such as the complexes can be considered as mineral carriers. These complexes in certain conditions (PH–range) can release the minerals in body.

Abstract: The acidity and stability constants of M-L (M: M2+; L: Met, L-methionine) complexes, determined by potentiometric pH titrations, were used to make a comparative investigation. The stability constants of the 1:1 complexes formed between M2+ and L–, were determined by potentiometric pH titration in aqueous solution (I = 0.1 M, NaNO3, 25°C). The order of the stability constants was reported. It is shown that regarding to M ion – binding properties, vital differences on complex bilding were considered. It is demonstrated that in M-L complexes, M ion is coordinated to the carboxyl group, is also able to bild macrochelate over amine group. The aforementioned results demonstrate that for M (Met) complex, the stability constants are also largely determined by the affinity of Cu ion for amino group. It is indicated that this additional interaction with amino groups can influence the character of some amino acid complexes in biological systems.

Abstract: Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteremia rarely occurs in non-immunocompromised adults and can be difficult to be treated. We report a case of 35-year-old woman who presented with respiratory distress, fever and skin lesions. There was pleural effusion in chest radiograph, and CT scan of thorax showed necrotizing pneumonia and loculated empyema. Among the cultures of blood, empyema, sputum and the skin nodules aspirates, all were positive for Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The patient was treated with ciprofloxacin, amikacin and then pleural decortications. Laboratory tests failed to reveal any immunological deficits. After a period of 21 days of antibiotic therapy, the patient was discharged from hospital with a good condition.

Abstract: The purpose of writing this article is to clearly differentiate between the concept of management which performs the just maintenance job and of the leadership which is an innovative term perceived as more effective and needed. Current scholarly literature on the topic has thoroughly been investigated which strongly supported the hypothesis that a leader is better than a manager. Mintzberg (1973; 1975), Kotter (1990) and Covey (2003) emphasized the requirement to develop the leaders than the managers in the organizations. Even the managers already working and performing efficiently can also develop and converted into leaders by organizing appropriate training and mentoring for them. The lucky organizations and leaders are those who have intrinsically embraced this paradigm shift from managed to leadership and religiously following the required course of action towards bright future.

Abstract: What defines leadership? Executives ask this question every time they choose a new leader or train their current leaders. Organizations must understand the fundamentals of leadership before making decisions about their leadership. Leaders are not created overnight. Becoming an effective leader involves considerable time and effort to hone the necessary skills and abilities. Training is considered as a key to develop leaders, however understanding the concept of leadership is vital for leader’s development. The aim of this paper is to study the in-depth context of leadership and its significance in organization effectiveness. Concept of paradigm shift has emphasized that volunteers administrator must serve as a focal point for leadership. A comprehensive review of current literature is used to develop the ground for this paper. This paper significantly contributes towardsthe literature of leadership by conceptualized role and effectiveness of leadership in organizations.

Abstract: The purpose of writing this paper was to establish the significance of Paradigm shift from traditional and old management concept towards the very innovative concept of leadership. Researches of very eminent scholars and contemporary leader were analyzed to understand the very need of this unavoidable shift. Now some organization or individual if is found slag to understand and implement this Paradigm shift of a ‘Manager to a Leader’, shall certainly bear the consequences of backwardness thus being lacking in core business. Because latest literature has termed a manager just a maintainer performing a routine job but a leader is a charismatic person who has the solution of each of the organizational, administrative or technical issue. Every manager now has to learn some requisite competencies to transform him into a leader. A manager after going through this article will not only well understand the significance to adopt this Paradigm shift but shall also learn the basic concept and ingredients of becoming a contemporary leader. This is not need of every individual but the organization as well as of the country.

Abstract: We used SDSPAGE to evaluate and characterize the protein patterns of seed storage proteins in four pistachios cultivars (Akbari, Ahmad Aghaei, Fandoghi, and Kaleghouchi). Total protein content of pistachio seeds in all cultivars did not show any significant difference. Results of SDS PAGE pattern of a few protein bands were up regulated whereas some other bands showed down regulation. The identified protein patterns may be used protein marker for pistachio cultivars.

Abstract: To evaluation of pathogenicity and race classification of Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae agent bacterial leaf blight of rice, 153 isolates of X. oryzae pv. oryzae were collected from different rice-growing cities of Guilan province – Iran. All of isolates were inoculated to assess the differential characteristics of 26 near isogenic rice lines containing a single resistance gene or two to five genes. Inoculation was done 21 days after sowing in the greenhouse. Scoring of inoculated plants was done 18 days after inoculation. The level of infection was not so clear among pyramiding lines, expect IRBB53 and IRBB61. Therefore, the pyramiding lines can not be used as differentials for pathogenicity evaluation of X. oryzae pv. oryzae The 12 rice lines with a single resistance gene were used further to establish a system of races classification of X. oryzae pv. oryzae IRBB14, IRBB21and IRBB7 were resistance to the most isolates. Whereas, IRBB1, IRBB2, IRBB4 and IRBB10 were susceptible to all isolates. Based on the interactions between the isolates X. oryzae pv. oryzae and the 12 near-isogenic rice lines, seven singlegene rice lines were chosen as differentials, and the 153 tested isolates were classified into four races. Except for cultivar types, different terrain, climate, period of rice planting and other factors may be associated with the population diversity and virulent variation of X. oryzae pv. oryzae.
Investigating Efficacy of “Working Memory Training Software” on Students Working Memory  [PDF]

Abstract: The aim of the present study is developing “Working Memory Training Software”, and investigating its content validity and the efficacy of this computerized cognitive training on students working memory. This study is in R & D research category, and it is performed in a semi-experimental design. Its data were collected from students of the third grade (30), fourth grade (30), and fifth grade (12) of primary school. After specifying the software content validity by asking expertise opinions, and investigating these opinions through Spearman Test (rs = 1), these children attended in intervention program for 10 sessions. The subtests of working memory in “Tehran-Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scale” and “Wechsler intelligence scale for children” were conducted in all three groups on the pre-test and post-test. After elimination of the pre-test effect, Paired-Samples T-Test on total scores of subtests of working memory in “Tehran-Stanford Binet Intelligence Scale” (t = 10.869, df = 71, r = 0.967 & P < 0.05) and in “Wechsler intelligence scale for children” (t = 16.809, df = 71, r = 0.983 & P < 0.05) reveals a significant difference in post-test scores. Based on this study the Working Memory Training Software has proper psychometric properties and causes significant improvement in students working memory performance.

Abstract: Deep level transient spectroscopy (temperature scans) of AlGaInP based red light emitting diodes was carried out from 77 K to room temperature. At least ten defects were observed. Of these, five defects assigned to energy states 0.21, 0.22, 0.24, 0.26, and 0.24 eV were characterized. Respective capture cross-sections, measured at infinite temperature (T = ), QUOTE were found to be 8.84 × 10-16, 6.98 × 10-16, 7.86 × 10-16, 9.9 × 10-16 and 2.1 × 10-16 cm2. Corresponding concentrations of defects were 3.7 × 1013, 3.5 × 1013, 3.2 × 1013, 3.3 × 1013 and 3.1 × 1013 cm-3.
