Perspectives of Education for Sustainable Development - Understanding and Introducing the Notion in Polish Educational Documents
Ma gorzata Czapla , Agnieszka Berlińska
Discourse and Communication for Sustainable Education , 2011, DOI: 10.2478/v10230-011-0004-4
Abstract: The aim of this article is to present an analysis of formal educational documents in the context of the sustainable development notion. This goal was realised by an analysis of the National Curriculum Framework documents from 2002 in comparison with the newest document from 2008. In addition, seven teaching programmes were analysed. On the grounds of the sustainable development definition and in the context of UNECE Strategy of Education for Sustainable Development, a list of direct and indirect linguistic indicators was created. To count the key words, the text editor Adobe Reader 9.0 was used. In the oldest version of the National Curriculum Framework, the key words defining sustainable development or their components occurred 119 times, in the newest - 165 times. The new version covers the scope of sustainable development in a wider range.
Framework for Extensible Application Testing  [PDF]
Agnieszka Zielińska
Journal of Software Engineering and Applications (JSEA) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/jsea.2012.55041
Abstract: In recent years large corporations as well as smaller commercial enterprises have begun to devote increased attention to software testing and software quality. This paper introduces a novel tool—the Framework for Extensible Application Testing (FEAT), implemented by the author and applicable for automatic generation and execution of test cases. The paper discusses system requirements, design, architecture and modes of operation. It also contains a detailed comparison of the FEAT framework with existing test environments, focusing in particular on the STAF/STAX framework. The final section is devoted to experimental research into the applicability and efficiency of the presented tools in various projects and configurations, as reflected by quality metrics.
(2-Decanamidoethyl)dimethylamine N-oxide
Agnieszka Lewińska
Acta Crystallographica Section E , 2010, DOI: 10.1107/s1600536810022270
Abstract: In the title compound, C14H30N2O2, the almost planar nonyl chains are fully extended: the N—C—C—N torsion angle of 161.95 (8)° indicates an anti conformation. The crystal structure features N—H...O hydrogen bonds and C—H...O interactions.
Znaczenie endoskopii w diagnostyce i post powaniu terapeutycznym u chorych z nieswoistymi zapaleniami jelit
Agnieszka Budzyńska
Polish Gastroenterology , 2006,
Abstract: Badania endoskopowe pe ni wa n rol w diagnozowaniu i ró nicowaniu nieswoistych chorób zapalnych jelita.
Legal aspects of Polish Tax and Social Security in Agriculture
Agnieszka Parlińska
Aestimum , 2008,
Abstract: In the paper are describing legal aspects of treatment of farming sector in the tax and social security system in Poland. Tax System in Polish Agriculture is an integral part of Polish Tax System. Most taxes paid by farmers are property taxes, which supplied the budget of main local authority in Poland (municipality). In some cases farmers pay also personal income tax and value added tax like those, who run specific agricultural production as well individual farmers who operate through a limited liability company are subject to corporate income tax. The social security fund for farmers (known as KRUS) was speared in 1990 from the social security system (ZUS). Farmers receive similar benefits with regard to health care, education, and social welfare although the contributions into the farmers system are lower then under the ZUS system.
Fatty acids in treatment and prevention of depression
Wilczyńska, Agnieszka
Psychiatria Polska , 2013,
Abstract: The increase of incident rates for depression and other psychiatric disorders is a serious threat for all communities. The study presents data verifying the relationship between the level of omega-3 PUFAs in the blood and an increased risk of depression, including the parallel standard therapy with antidepressants or not. There is an increasing number of evidences that fatty acids like DHA, AA and EPA are linked to depression. In epidemiological studies and clinical trials a correlation between the decline of omega-3 PUFA intake and an increasing risk for developing depression is considered.
Finance of the Municipal Sector in Comparison with Public Finance of the European Union Countries
Agnieszka Alińska
Contemporary Economics , 2007,
Abstract: The general financial situation of municipal government in the European Union countries seems to be very good. The dynamics of tax income value growth achieved by local and regional authorities considerably exceed the figures characterizing the all public sector. Moreover, municipal authorities at the local and regional level are a leading public investor in many EU countries, they finance 69,3% of all public investments in average in all EU. Besides the value of their budget deficits, at the level of 0,2% GDP, and also their share in values of the national debt at the level of 5,8% GDP the European Union can be qualified as safe having no negative impact on getting positive economic effects in many countries of the European Union.
Arithmetic Brownian motion subordinated by tempered stable and inverse tempered stable processes
Agnieszka Wy?omańska
Physics , 2012, DOI: 10.1016/j.physa.2012.05.072
Abstract: In the last decade the subordinated processes have become popular and found many practical applications. Therefore in this paper we examine two processes related to time-changed (subordinated) classical Brownian motion with drift (called arithmetic Brownian motion). The first one, so called normal tempered stable, is related to the tempered stable subordinator, while the second one - to the inverse tempered stable process. We compare the main properties (such as probability density functions, Laplace transforms, ensemble averaged mean squared displacements) of such two subordinated processes and propose the parameters' estimation procedures. Moreover we calibrate the analyzed systems to real data related to indoor air quality.
Parallel implematation of flow and matching algorithms
Agnieszka ?upińska
Computer Science , 2011,
Abstract: In our work we present two parallel algorithms and their lock-free implementations using a popular GPU environment Nvidia CUDA. The first algorithm is the push-relabel method for the flow problem in grid graphs. The second is the cost scaling algorithm for the assignment problem in complete bipartite graphs.
The influence of old leather tannery district on chromium contamination of soils, water and plants  [PDF]
Agnieszka Wolińska, Zofia St?pniewska, Rafa? W?osek
Natural Science (NS) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/ns.2013.52A037

The paper demonstrates the actual level of chromium contamination at the site of the old tannery waste lagoon in Serniki community (SE Poland). Despite the fact that since 1994 this area is not exploited, the chromium presence is still detected in soil, water and plants. The current study is the 4th phase (after 1989, 2001 and 2004) of checking and controlling the chromium concentration in this territory. The chromium content was assessed after soil and plant mineralization using FAAS method. Total chromium concentrations in soil samples reached values of 2.25 - 18.25 mg·kg-1 dry mass. Levels of chromium in water samples ranged between 0.008 and 0.017 mg·dm-3 for Wieprz River and the trough, situated in the tannery centre, respectively. Absorption of chromium by plants depended from the plant species. The highest Cr content in the stalks of Oenothera biennis, whilst the lowest in Phragmites australis were detected. Finally, it was assumed that soil chromium content noted in 2009 was by 42% - 83% lower in relation to the data from 2004. Consequently, nowadays the tannery waste lagoon site is not so threat to the health of local residents and to the surrounding ecosystem.
