As pe?as e os mecanismos do crime organizado em sua atividade tráfico de drogas
Oliveira, Adriano;
Dados , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0011-52582007000400003
Abstract: this article uses the mechanism-based explanation as the method to analyze organized crime and the drug traffic. the authors begin by identifying the underlying components of such organized crime mechanisms and then proceed to describe a criminal organization dealing in drugs. the analysis draws on interviews, reports by brazilian public prosecutors' offices, and police information. the empirical data confirm the components of organized crime and demonstrate the bankruptcy of public institutions, to the extent that criminal groups have succeeded in infiltrating these organizations from within and turning them into allies.

Abstract: What is lulism? This paper shows that the lulism is a social phenomenon visible in the Brazilian electorate and their manifestation is found to from variables, among these,assessment administration, and trust worthiness. Initially, this article presents the concept of lulism. It then shows, through various surveys, the lulism manifestation of the electorate. Through the use of classical determinants of the vote, and consider thecircumstances and economic policies that interfere with the construction and deconstruction of social phenomena, this article concludes that the lulism: 1) exists independently of ideological position and economics stratas of voters; 2) contributes to the strengthening of personalism in Brazilian politics; and 3) is a variable that influences the choice of voter.
Mixing, ergodicity and slow relaxation phenomena
Ismael V. L. Costa,Mendeli H. Vainstein,Luciano C. Lapas,Adriano A. Batista,Fernando A. Oliveira
Mathematics , 2006, DOI: 10.1016/j.physa.2006.04.096
Abstract: Investigations on diffusion in systems with memory [I.V.L. Costa, R. Morgado, M.V.B.T. Lima, F.A. Oliveira, Europhys. Lett. 63 (2003) 173] have established a hierarchical connection between mixing, ergodicity, and the fluctuation-dissipation theorem (FDT). This hierarchy means that ergodicity is a necessary condition for the validity of the FDT, and mixing is a necessary condition for ergodicity. In this work, we compare those results with recent investigations using the Lee recurrence relations method [M.H. Lee, Phys. Rev. B 26 (1982) 2547; M.H. Lee, Phys. Rev. Lett. 87 (2001) 250601; M.H. Lee, J. Phys. A: Math. Gen. 39 (2006) 4651]. Lee shows that ergodicity is violated in the dynamics of the electron gas [M.H. Lee, J. Phys. A: Math. Gen. 39 (2006) 4651]. This reinforces both works and implies that the results of [I.V.L. Costa, R. Morgado, M.V.B.T. Lima, F.A. Oliveira, Europhys. Lett. 63 (2003) 173] are more general than the framework in which they were obtained. Some applications to slow relaxation phenomena are discussed.

Abstract: the purpose of this study was to analyze and verify the existence of neurophysiological changes in individuals with down syndrome, such as hyporeflexia, static and dynamic, which, if present, may cause impairment in sensory-motor control of muscles, and consequently hypotonia, contributing to changes in motor development. the electromyographic signal (emg), start and termination electromyographic signal, was collected from 24 volunteers with a diagnosis of down syndrome and 25 volunteers as controls for 2 different situations: the dynamic latency period and monosynaptic reflex (static) patellar and achilles. for neurophysiological aspects, it was observed that for all variables analyzed, statistical difference (p<0.05) between groups. the existence of neurophysiological changes (delay of the latency period) demonstrated in this study originated from an impairment in sensory-motor control, which may account for the decreased muscle tone, presents as one of several possible factors for the changes in motor development of children, which shows important due to neuromuscular disorders that can interfere in functional activities.

Abstract: the quasi-two-dimensional electron cyclotron mass in gan-alxga1- xn heterostructures is theoretically calculated. the shifting in landau levels due to the electron longitudinal optical phonon interaction is calculated through the second order improved wigner brillouin perturbation theory (iwbpt). experimental results recently obtained for gan heterojunction are well described by the theory. we have also investigated the e ects of the electronic density on the cyclotron resonance frequency.

Abstract: brazil faces problems related to the large population which lives in the rural areas and discharges the wastewater directly into water bodies. this occurrence contributes not only to environmental damage but also to public health problems. in this case, the use of simple treatments would be beneficial, since the local wastewater could be treated with low cost and be built and operated by local labor even though it is not specialized. a system investigated in unicamp and which has these characteristics is, undoubtedly, the association of anaerobic filters with sand filters. the results from the research showed that the effluent had an organic matter concentration lower than the maximum permitted by brazilian law (brasil, 2005). regarding the nitrogen compounds, the sand filters showed a great capacity of nitrification and, in reference to phosphorus, in the deepest depths (0.75 and 1.00 m), the removal was more than 98%
Plantability and moisture content of naked and pelleted seeds of supersweet (Sh2) corn during cold storage conditions
Lag?a, André de Oliveira;Ferreira, Adriano César;Vieira, Roberval Daiton;
Revista Brasileira de Sementes , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-31222012000100005
Abstract: the supersweet (sh2) corn seeds have a thin tegument and an irregular shape, which hinder the sowing procedure. as a function of those factors, the significance of using the pelleting process to improve sowing and standardize the stand of plants in the field without the need of thinning within the row is emphasized. although this technique has already been known for many years, little has been studied on the effect of such procedure on the plantability and on the moisture content of the supersweet corn seeds. therefore, this research work aimed at evaluating the effects of pelleting on the moisture content of the seeds along the storing process, on the occurrence of gaps on seed deposition and on the dropping of double seeds, with the aid of a testing seeder. other physical attributes of seeds and pellets were also evaluated through tests of fragmentation, screen retention, mass of a thousand seeds and apparent volume. results have shown an increase on the mass and on the volume of the pelleted seeds that presented highly resistance to cracks and breaking. the pelleting was efficient on the reduction of gaps and on the deposition of double seeds at sowing, thus providing highly satisfactory results for these attributes. an increase on the seed moisture content was also observed as a function of storage with a significant reduction on this factor after the pelleting procedure. results allow concluding that the pelleting process reduces seed moisture content and improves plantability, positively affecting the efficiency of the sowing process.
Predation on the black capuchin monkey Cebus nigritus (Primates: Cebidae) by domestic dogs Canis lupus familiaris (Carnivora: Canidae), in the Parque Estadual Serra do Brigadeiro, Minas Gerais, Brazil
Oliveira, Valeska B. de;Linares, Ant?nio M.;Corrêa, Guilherme L. C.;Chiarello, Adriano G.;
Revista Brasileira de Zoologia , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-81752008000200026
Abstract: predation on an adult male black capuchin monkey, cebus nigritus (goldfuss, 1809) by two domestic dogs was observed in the parque estadual serra do brigadeiro, in the atlantic forest of southeastern minas gerais. predation occurred in an area of well preserved native forest 800 m from the nearest forest edge. this is the first confirmed record of predation by domestic dogs in this reserve, yet data from a study in the same area indicates that the domestic dog is the most frequently recorded mammal species, which suggests that it is common in the area. the few published reports indicate that this problem occurs in other conservation units in brazil and should, therefore, be treated with more rigor by the environmental agencies.
