Modelagem na Sala de Aula: resistências e obstáculos

Abstract: this article describes and analyzes obstacles and resistance reported by teachers and future teachers who are university graduates in developing modeling-related tasks in their teaching practices. these teachers were the subject of research reported in theses and dissertations about modeling produced in brazil. fourteen out of 65 theses and dissertations about modeling analyzed by silveira (2007), produced between 1976 and 2005, were analyzed. the results showed that the teachers of the courses presented some resistance to using modeling in the classroom practice, and that this resistance was evident in the relations of the teacher with the work, the school, the curriculum, the students, and the students′ families.
Educa??o matemática na escola indígena sob uma abordagem crítica

Abstract: this article encourages a reflection on the challenges facing mathematical education in an indigenous school in a kaingang community located in the xapeco indigenous land area in ipuacu (sc), and the possibilities of insertion, into the environment of the classroom, of discussions related to the roles played by mathematics in indigenous society. for this purpose, we present contributions from critical mathematical education regarding three fundamental issues: the sociopolitical context of mathematical education (globalization and ghetto-ization), competencies that should be associated with mathematical education (mathemacy) and foreground of indigenous students. the understanding that the practices and the production of mathematical knowledge occur in all cultures is one of the mainstays of this study, which is based on the theoretical foundations of ethnomathematics.

Abstract: Este trabalho tem por objetivo apresentar algumas categorias da epistemologia de Gaston Bachelard e da teoria da rela o com o saber de Bernard Charlot, a fim de promover uma reflex o sobre possíveis rela es entre elas. Apropriamo-nos de abordagens epistemológicas da obra de Bachelard, como a forma o do espírito científico, os obstáculos epistemológicos e pedagógicos e a perspectiva descontinuísta, para apontar possíveis vínculos com a formula o da quest o e do conceito da rela o com o saber de Charlot e a dinamica entre descontinuidade/continuidade da rela o com o saber na escola. This work aims presenting some categories of Gaston Bachelard’s epistemology and the Bernard Charlot’s theory of Relation to Knowledge, promoting a reflection regarding some connections between them. Taking the epistemological and pedagogical obstacles, discontinuity perspective and formation of the scientific mind will be argued the bonds of these Bachelard’s categories with the construction of the question and the concept of the relation to knowledge by Charlot and the dynamics between discontinuity/continuity of the relation to knowledge in the school.
Educa o Escolar Indígena, matemática e cultura: a abordagem etnomatemática

Abstract: Esse artigo, de cunho teórico, busca promover uma reflex o sobre os desafios da Educa o Escolar Indígena brasileira na constru o de um processo educativo na Educa o Matemática que contemple amatemática tradicional dos povos e a matemática acadêmica. O trabalho tem como elemento fundamental que as práticas e a produ o de conhecimentos matemáticos ocorrem em todas as culturas humanas, e temfecundidade na Etnomatemática enquanto campo de pesquisa e de ensino. Aponta a Abordagem Etnomatemática como perspectiva para conceber esse processo, oportunizando a comunidade indígena a posse destes dois conhecimentos, de forma que consiga fortalecer-se politicamente, tornando-se consciente das diferentes possibilidades de utiliza o do conhecimento matemático, analisando as rela es de poder envolvidas no uso destes dois conhecimentos na busca de alternativas para solucionar conflitos ou crises com os quais se deparam, privilegiando uma dimens o sociopolítica para a Educa o Matemática.
Influência dos exercícios físicos de baixa e alta intensidade sobre o limiar de hipernocicep??o e outros parametros em ratos

Abstract: physical exercise practice is an important habit to maintain the physical and emotional well-being of those who regularly adopt it, and can bring great benefits to health. however, depending on the type, intensity, frequency and duration of the exercises, they can also do a certain degree of harm to the organism. as a benefit, the role of physical exercise is described in the specific and non-specific immune function and, in the latter, the inflammatory process stands out. therefore, the purpose of this study was to show the effects of low and high intensity physical exercises on hypernociception, and to evaluate the body mass and the relative weight of some organs in rats. for the study, male adult wistar rats were used and submitted (trained group) or not submitted (non-trained group) to physical exercises on an ergometric treadmill. the acute inflammation was induced by an injection of carrageenin-0.5% into the plantar tissue of the left hind paw of each rat and the nociception was measured by the plantar test before and after 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 and 24 hours. at the end of the evaluations, the rats were submitted to deep anesthesia until their euthanasia, to collect and weigh the adrenal glands, heart, spleen and kidneys, and to subsequent histopathological study of those tissues. the statistical analysis of the results showed a significant increase (p < 0.05) of the hypernoniception threshold in h2, h3, h4 and h6 moments in animals trained at high intensity. there was also a significant reduction (p < 0.05) in body mass besides hypertrophy of the adrenal glands and heart and an increase in the kidneys relative weight of the rats trained at high intensity, in addition to adrenal hypertrophy of the animals trained at low intensity. there were no statistically significant changes in the other parameters evaluated in this study. we concluded that physical exercises on a treadmill were capable of changing the nociception, body mass and the relative weight of some organ
Efeitos dos exercícios físicos sobre o edema inflamatório agudo em ratos Wistar

Abstract: physical exercises have been associated with important and varied benefits to health, as those related to the specific and non-specific immune function, stressing the inflammatory process in the latter. however, depending on their type, intensity, frequency and duration, exercises can also cause certain harm to the organism. actually, previous research has demonstrated that the hypernociception of inflammatory origin in rats was influenced by the physical exercises protocol performed on treadmill. thus, the aim of this research was to study the effects of high and low intensity physical exercises on acute inflammatory response. therefore, male adult wistar rats were submitted (trained group) or not (untrained group) to physical exercises on a treadmill. acute inflammation was induced by a 0.5% carrageenin injection into the plantar tissue of the left hind paw of each rat and the acute inflammatory edema volume was measured by plethysmography before and after 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 and 24 hours of the inflammatory process induction. the statistical analysis of the results showed a significant increase in the edema volume in times h1, h2 and h3 (p<0.01) and in times h4 and h6 (p<0.05) in animals submitted to low intensity exercises. however, no statistically significant changes occurred in the acute inflammatory edema volume in any of the evaluated times (p>0.05) in animals of the high intensity group compared with the non-trained group. therefore, it was concluded that low-intensity physical exercises on treadmill increased the acute inflammatory edema volume in rats, probably due to the increase in the synthesis and secretion of prostaglandins and/or increase in the plasmatic levels of cytokines il-1, il-6 and tnf-alfa among other factors. this fact has not been observed in animals submitted to high intensity exercises, which demonstrates the influence of intensity, frequency and duration of the exercises on this inflammatory parameter.

Abstract: A set, S, of constitutive elements characterizing mechanical theories is defined. In S, the role played by concepts such as mass, particle, fields and symmetry is discussed. This structure is first used to consider the Nother’s theorem from an algebraic point of view. As examples, we explore non-relativistic quantum mechanics and special relativistic particles. The set S is then applied to analyze non-abelian gauge theories, considering the Higgs mechanism for generation of mass.
Trends in biological dosimetry: an overview

Abstract: biological dosimetry (biodosimetry) is based on investigations of induced biological effects (biomarkers) in order to correlate them with radiation dose. among the indicators employed in biodosimetry, scoring of chromosome aberrations is the most reliable method to quantify individual exposure to ionizing radiation. the technique, applied to circulating lymphocytes, has been developed into a routine procedure to evaluate the dose in the case of real or suspected accidental exposure. considering the radiosensitivity of lymphocytes in vitro and in vivo as being the same, the dose effect relationship obtained after in vitro irradiation of blood has been widely used, with medico-legal value, for evaluating individual radiation exposure. this report presents an overview of strengths, limitations and perspectives on biodosimetry.

Abstract: the increase in ionizing radiation (ir) applications, especially nuclear, has been followed by the growth of public concern for the potential associated risks. the public?s perception of such risks is often based on the philosophy that ir is harmful at any exposure level. on the other hand, although radiation workers have knowledge about the nature of ir and its potential health effects, the relationship between absorbed dose and risk is not well understood, principally for low doses. this report presents an overview of physical and biological dosimetry as complementary methodologies, as well as their possible contribution for improving risk perception in radioprotection.
