Alfaro, Luis;García-Leal, óscar;Cabrera, Rosalva;
Revista mexicana de análisis de la conducta , 2010,
Abstract: this study evaluated searching and intake strategies in groups of rats; group size and arrangement of sources with food were varied. group of rats were exposed to a wood table with food containers. group matrix n=4 integrated by four rats was exposed to 4 containers which were arranged in a matrix figure and were near; group matrix n=8 was exposed to same arrangement of containers y was integrated by eight rats; zig-zag n=4 was exposed to 4 containers which were away and arranged in irregular figure, four rats were in the group; zig-zag n=8 was exposed to same arrangement and was composed with eight rats. data show that arrangement of sources with food had effects in the number of containers exploted by all rats in the group and in the tendency of producing-scrounging strategies; the number of rats by group produced changes on the proportion in that producing and scrounging responses were performed in each group and on pattern of arrive to sources of food. these results were analyzed according to maximization rate model.
On the Consistency of the First-Order-Approach to Principal-Agent Problems  [PDF]
óscar Gutiérrez
Theoretical Economics Letters (TEL) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/tel.2012.22028
Abstract: This paper revisits the principal-agent model with moral hazard when its solution is obtained invoking the first-order-approach. We show that the solution can be economically inconsistent even when “sufficient conditions” ensuring its validity ([1,2]) hold. To be more precise, we provide examples where is impossible to find Lagrange multipliers validating the approach. The correct solution to the problem provides a rationale for option-like contracts and minimum payments.
R&D Direction and North-South Diffusion, Human Capital, Growth, and Wages
óscar Afonso
Economics Research International , 2011, DOI: 10.1155/2011/401928
Abstract: This paper highlights some recent components related to the endogenous growth literature; in particular, (i) research and development progress, direction, and diffusion; (ii) human-capital accumulation; (iii) wage inequality; (iv) nonscale economic growth, showing how each one has been treated by the existing seminal literature and the expected impact of bringing them together. The connection of the different components is mainly done by involving the leading literature on North-South technological-knowledge diffusion by imitation under trade, and the prevailing literature on intra- and intercountry wage inequality.
Cornago,óscar;
Aisthesis , 2011, DOI: 10.4067/S0718-71812011000200006
Abstract: any form of representation implies an attitude, and therefore an ethic, to the exercise of representation. from this perspective, this article explores the relationship between the construction of cultural modernity and baroque imagination. considering the thoughts of a few names of the ?materialist philosophy?, such as nietzsche, benjamin, adorno, lyotard or sloterdijk, literature (juan goyti-solo, miguel romero esteo, mallarmé, elias canetti) and film (jean-luc godard, greenaway), this paper will discuss different ways of understanding and responding to the fact of representation in modernity.
Loureda,óscar;
Revista signos , 2009, DOI: 10.4067/S0718-09342009000300002
Abstract: in this article i will draw a short overview over the metalinguistic facts that form a complement to jakobson's early works. it will deal with the manifestations of the reflexive dimension of language, which a) either 'speak about' language (discourse about language); b) or present distinctions on the 'real' level of language (lexicon, phraseology etc.); c) are pieces of language represented in texts that are spoken about (metalinguistic use); d) or are linguistic signs that in order to be understood completely and explicitly need the 'objectivation of other signs (eco utterances). apart from presenting a typology of the facts, i will propose a functional classification within a 'realistic' language theory.

This paper introduces a conceptual frame for the analysis of the relationship between the policies governing the choice of school and school segregation. It defends the consideration of the factors of school segregation as the key element for understanding the different effects of these policies according to the implementation context. The article documents structural characteristics and segregation means in secondary education of fifteen European
