Investigación y Postgrado , 2009,
Abstract: this research reveals a curricular study of a general highschool program per skills (hps) developed in the universidad de guadalajara. the analysis was made with theoretical postulates and methodological tools that the network theory offers. the basic idea was to compress the original curricular map of hps from three years to two, in non-conventional modalities. the results of the analysis allowed to condense 44 units of learning in 20 units, divided in 7 areas (comprehension of the human being and citizenship a and b, communication a and b, mathematical thinking, comprehension of nature, formation for welfare), once reestablished in the curricular reform of the hps. the integration was raised through the use of rates familiarized with network analysis, which allowed determining the affinity between the learning units to integrate them. this study provided some parameters for a better understanding of the interdiscipleness.
Representations of Muslim Bodies in The Kingdom: Deconstructing Discourses in Hollywood
Michelle Aguayo
Global Media Journal : Canadian Edition , 2009,
Abstract: In this post September 11 (9/11) climate of the “War on Terror”, Hollywood political-thriller films carry a new cultural currency. Drawing from literature in postcolonial studies and its engagement with representations in popular culture, this paper analyzes the film The Kingdom (2007)—a fictional political-thriller with a storyline inspired by real terrorist bombings in Saudi Arabia. This paper critiques and notes the film’s narrative practices, with particular attention paid to the racial and gendered discourses produced in it. In examining the representational codes and politics in the film’s construction of Muslim bodies post-9/11, it is argued here that a critical engagement with Hollywood cinema is necessary in order to reveal the complex ways in which Muslim bodies are scripted as dangerous, pre-modern and uncivilized in American popular culture. This analysis will expose how representations of Muslims in Hollywood not only are essentialized, but act simultaneously to discipline these bodies, which is grounded in the trope of the “War on Terror”, intimately linking it to the project of empire. A commitment to deconstructing Muslim bodies in Hollywood will illustrate the embeddedness of racialized and gendered imaginings of “Others” as they unfold not only “on-screen”, but also their relationship to violent colonial projects “off-screen”.

Abstract: reflections on peirce's theory of abduction have not been free of controversy, given the difficulty to determine clearly the nature and epistemic function of this inference. the article examines three ways of understanding the concept of abduction, developed by peirce himself throughout his work. the main objective is to reconstruct the logical, methodological, and instinctive conception of this type of reasoning in order to establish the possibility of a theory of abduction.

Abstract: the article deals with the notion of accident from a wide point of view integrating philological, philosophical and historical data. the meaning of accident is analyzed according to the image of the world in the post-industrialized societies, from a set of theorical reflexions developed by octavio paz during the 60’s; finally, there is a brief discussion about the possible connections between the notion of accident and the hispanic literacy production in the 20th century, specifically in the field of narrative.

Abstract: swordfish age and growth of were determined in the fishing área of the southeastem pacific off the chilean coast by counting and measuring the rings in cross sections of the second spine of the anal fin. the examination of the edge of the sections and the analysis of the marginal increment allowed us to establish the formation of one growth ring per year. the swordfish growth parameters were estimated using back calculated length data proportional to the age, which was obtained from nonlinear regressions for lower jaw-fork length (ljfl) measurements and spine radius at the present and previous ages. two models were used for these rela-tionships: (i) linear correlation (model i) and (ii) potential correlation (model ii). the latter was selected be-cause of its better fit and because the to valúes in the von bertalanffy growth equation are closer to the origin. hotelling's multivariate test (t2) showed significant differences in growth between males and females; this was corroborated by chen's test. the growth parameters in terms of length for males were: asymptotic length (l∞) = 275.1 cm, growth coefficient (k) = 0.1774 year-1 , and age at zero length (to ) = -2.1076 year. for fe-males, the parameters were: l∞ = 304.7 cm, k = 0.1533 year-1, and to = -2.0571 year. for the growth parameters in terms of weight, only the asymptotic weight (w∞) was estimated using the ljfl vs. total weight rela-tionship. this was 278.7 kg for males and 406.7 kg for females.
Las prácticas escolares de los educadores físicos
Aguayo Rousell, Hilda Berenice;
Perfiles educativos , 2010,
Abstract: this article is part of a wider research which analyzes the school practices of physical education teachers in daily life, and more particularly during schoolyard teaching. it proposes an in-depth study of the sense given by the teacher to the multiple actions carried out during the teaching-learning processes of motor abilities. the author investigates how the social actions start and gives rise to a whole of practices and behaviors that professors use to reproduce during the performance, which are deciding to achieve motor learning. its main feature is that this kind of practices are pervaded by multiples ways of thinking such as beliefs, prejudices and ideals that make up being a teacher and establish the sense of their daily actions. the author describes the methodology, outlining the different stages of the process, the methods, the application of the tools for analysis and data interpretation; in the presentation of the results she prioritizes description and narration of the facts and events as the main features of the qualitative studies.

Abstract: in this paper we define the absolutely continuous relation between nonarchimedean scalar measures and then we give and prove a version of the radon-nykodym theorem in this setting. we also define the onarchimedean vector measure and prove some results in order to prepare a version of this theorem in a vector case
Maternizando lo político: mujeres y género en el Movimiento Sindical de la Industria Salmonera Chilena
Cid Aguayo, Beatriz Eugenia;
Revista Estudos Feministas , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-026X2012000100011
Abstract: the chilean salmon industry processing plants demand important amounts of female labour-force on the ground of naturalized attributed female gender characteristics, such as nimble fingers and particularly, lower union participation. however, in a context of high labour conflict and in response to precarious labour condition, important female leaderships have emerged. this work analyzes, on the one hand, the salmon unions, and their capacity to include gender issues, and, on the other hand, aspects of the subjectivity and speeches of the emergent women leaders. i will argue that female leaders do no fragment their personal experience, but organized their subjectivity in an integrated but also stressed way, on the one hand mothering their trade union activity, and on the other, politicizing their private life.
Leucistic South American sea lion in Chile, with a review of anomalously color in otariids
