Abstract:
In the Democratic Republic of Congo, a large part of the population now lives in a context of extreme poverty and suffers from serious health problems. Deprived of social protection, these people see themselves therefore in the financial inability to access quality health care. This study aims to analyze the different characteristics of members of the mutual health insurance and compare with non-members. The following observations were made: Of those surveyed, 97.7% and 91.4% of members were not members resorted average 4 times to health services during the last 6 months prior to the survey, a statistically significant difference was observed (p = 0.027). The survey data showed that a significant proportion of members and non-members (62.5% vs 66.4%; p = 0.36) had resorted to self-medication. For non-members, the rate of self-medication and traditional therapy were higher. Lack of money is mentioned by members and non-members as a problem limiting access to health care (38.3% vs 69.5%; p < 0.0001).

Abstract:
Introduction: The postponement of the preventive activities of the Provincial Division of Health of East Kasai 2016 revealed que le level of attendance of the preschool consultation is decreasing less and less in the Health Area Tshitenge. Thus, this study set the goal of determining the knowledge and use of maternal pre-school counseling in the Health Area Tshitenge. Methods: The survey method was used by means of a questionnary administered to mothers in this region, but more specifically, we collected data from 422 mothers responsible for randomly selected children aged 0 to 5 in the four health. Results: After analysis and analysis of the data with the computer tool, we obtained the following results: the rate of use of the preschool consultation service is 60.7%; the level of education, occupation and the number of children under 5 years of age have a strong influence on the use of preschool counseling; lack of knowledge about the most important activity of preschool counseling has a negative influence on its use. There is a link between the use of the preschool consultation and the most important activity of the preschool consultation for the respondent; there is also a link between this and an appointment on the map; and finally, the cost judgment of SPC strongly influences its use. Conclusion: In order to raise this activity, the revitalization of preschool consultation activities in the Tshitenge health area, the reinforcement of the parents’ awareness on the use of preschool counseling from 0 to 59 months, and the revival of visits to homes for children whose mothers drop out of preschool counseling sufficient are a basis.
Minimum and Maximum Temperature Trends in Congo-Brazzaville: 1932-2010  [PDF]
Gaston Samba, Dominique Nganga
Atmospheric and Climate Sciences (ACS) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/acs.2014.43040
Abstract:

Maximum and minimum temperatures time series of Congo-Brazzaville are analyzed for trend and discontinuities over the period 1932 to 2010. Temperatures series show an irregular increase. A total of 8 synoptic stations show positive trends in their annual mean maximum temperature series, and 7 of them are significant, with higher trends for urban stations. Annual mean minimum temperature showed 6 stations having positive trends. This increase is in relation with observations at regional scale. However, the differences are observed between large towns (Brazzaville and Pointe-Noire), and small or rural towns (Dolisie, Sibiti, Impfondo, Djambala). Trends in diurnal temperature range (DTR) are large positive trends in maximum temperature that are mainly observed in cities. The curve of DTR shows a decreasing trend which indicates the increasing of minimum temperatures. The effects of urbanization on temperature trends are investigated. Most stations regarded as urban stations are still useful for trend analysis; being situated on the suburban of the studied cities, they are therefore, not substantially influenced by the urban heat island.

Kinetical Inflation and Quintessence by F-Harmonic Map  [PDF]
Antonin Kanfon, Dominique Lambert Lambert
Journal of Modern Physics (JMP) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/jmp.2012.311213
Abstract: We were interested, along this work, in the phenomena of the quintessence and the inflation due to the F-harmonic maps, in other words, in the functions of the scalar field such as the exponential and trigo-harmonic maps. We showed that some F-harmonic map such as the trigonometric functions instead of the scalar field in the lagrangian, allow, in the absence of term of potential, reproduce the inflation. However, there are other F-harmonic maps such as exponential maps which can’t produce the inflation; the pressure and the density of this exponential harmonic field being both of the same sign. On the other hand, these exponential harmonic fields redraw well the phenomenon of the quintessence when the variation of these fields remains weak. The problem of coincidence, however remains.
Cancer induction pathways and HF-EMF irradiation  [PDF]
Gérard Ledoigt, Dominique Belpomme
Advances in Biological Chemistry (ABC) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/abc.2013.32023
Abstract:

The response of cells to different types of electromagnetic fields can be induced by low-level (athermal) high frequency (HF) electromagnetic field (EMF) exposure associated with mobile phone technologies. There are many examples of biological effects involving the epigenome. EMF could trigger protein activation mediated by ligands, such as Ca2+, that alter the conformation of binding proteins, especially the NADPH plasmic membrane oxidase, so inducing increased formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) that may alter proteomic functions. Classical antiapoptotic and procarcinogenic signaling mechanisms that are commonly found activated in human malignancies and in inflammation mainly involve the transcription factor NF-κB. The microenvironment that exists during chronic inflammation can contribute to cancer progression. The data support the proposition that long term HF-EMF exposure caused by improper use of cell phones may potentially cause cancer.

Museus de ciências e psicologia: interatividade, experimenta??o e contexto
Colinvaux, Dominique;
História, Ciências, Saúde-Manguinhos , 2005, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-59702005000400005
Abstract: the article reflects on the notion of the museum experience from the perspective of a visitor to a science and technology museum. unlike studies that postulate a generic, abstract 'model visitor', the goal was to discuss the perspective of the visitor as a psychological being, and to this end the research relied on the notion of interactivity. using two classic psychology studies analyzing the behavior of children and adolescents, the current study first focused on the notion of experimentation, characterized as an interaction between subject and object. it then explored interactions between subjects and contexts, approaching from the notion of mediated action. my conclusion is that a museum experience should, on the one hand, take into account the visitor's ability to act, ask, and experiment and, on the other, the specific museum contexts that invite and propose but may also limit these very chances to act, question, and experiment.
Le musée d?histoire en France entre traditions nationales et soucis identitaires
Poulot, Dominique;
Anais do Museu Paulista: História e Cultura Material , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-47142007000200021
Abstract: the museums of history have known some spectacular changes in contemporary france for two decades. new buildings have been constructed, and a lot of old ones have been renovated. the study of some specific cases, for example the museums devoted to the history of world war ii, or to the history of migrations, demonstrates how museology is nowadays far from the pure illustration of erudite knowledge. the ideal museum of french history is today a museum very concerned by the present state of affairs, the political agenda or the social agency. its aims are linked to the consciousness of ? heritage ? in the contemporary society. one difficulty is not to becoming a commercial product, a kind of entertainment, or of ? edutainment ? for kids. the challenge is to play the role of a place of memory, or even to figure a tool for collective thinking about the new stakes of national identity.

A linguagem do respeito: a experiência brasileira e o sentido da cidadania nas democracias modernas
Vidal, Dominique;
Dados , 2003, DOI: 10.1590/S0011-52582003000200003
Abstract: based on field research in recife and rio de janeiro, this article attempts to demonstrate why the analysis of the demand for respect, a central point in the social and political discourse of poor brazilian city-dwellers, allows one to highlight a fundamental dimension in the meaning of democratic citizenship in modern societies. first, this demand indicates the importance of the attachment to respect and the denouncement of humiliation among low-income urban brazilians. second, it unveils the tension between hierarchy and equality. the article then goes on to evoke certain social and political representations among the populations studied, leading to questions about the relationship between moral life and the right to legal protection. finally, the article discusses how the importance ascribed to morality is relevant to contemporary discussion on the sociology of recognition.
Cultura, História, valores patrimoniais e museus
Poulot, Dominique;
Varia Historia , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-87752011000200004
Abstract: from the end of the eighteenth century until the beginning of the age of nationalities, the history of museums is linked to the history of the patriotic constructions. the appeal to the popular nationalism emphasized the formation of collections able to return to the collective origins of the imagined community. the history museum is willing to serve as a workshop to the historians and as a mirror to a disappeared world that needs to be claimed and that needs to be embodied convincingly. the contradictions between these objectives and approaches became evident during the twentieth century, nurturing from the opposites interpretations of the role of the museum as a place of manipulation of patrimony.
