Abstract: Objective: To study the sexual experience of women after gynecological hysterectomy in the obstetrics and gynecology department of Yalgado Ouedraogo University Teaching Hospital in Burkina Faso. Patient and Method: We conducted a cross-sectional study from October 1, 2016 to March 30, 2017. It included any patient who had a gynecological indication for a hysterectomy in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Yalgado Ouedraogo University Teaching Hospital (CHU-YO) during the study period. A total of 85 patients were included. We collected information from the consultation records, clinical records, and operating room registries and by surveying the patients themselves. Result: The frequency of hysterectomy in the gynecological period was 3.9%. The mean age of the patients was 51.71 (extremes: 35 and 66 years) and the mean parity was 4.8. Married women were the majority. Fibromyoma and genital prolapse accounted for 56.47% and 23.53% respectively of operative indications. Regarding postintervention sexuality, 29.41% of women declared no longer having sexual desire. Also, they complained of vaginal dryness (31.8%), decreased frequency of orgasm (42.3%), dyspareunia (37.65). Sexual dysfunction was present in 82.35% of women. There was a statistically significant difference between global sexual functioning and geographic origin, educational attainment, socio-economic level, surgical approach, preintervention sexual counseling, women’s psychological profile and their emotional relationship with their spouses. Conclusion: The psychosexual soundness of hysterectomy

Abstract: A quantitative descriptive study aimed to evaluate the physical structure accessibility of gynecological nursing clinics and their bathrooms in basic health units for users with motor disabilities. A checklist tool/instrument was applied for analyzing 16 items in the bathroom and four in the nursing clinic. 157 basic health units were evaluated. In the nursing clinic, counters and tables (79.6%) were accessible, but stretchers (93%), seats (93.6%) and doors (87.3%) were inaccessible; moreover, 17.8% of the units examined proved totally inaccessible. In the bathroom, the items with the best evaluation were the height of the toilet flusher (47%) with operation by slight pressure (44.6%) and the wall-mounted sink (42.7%). Bathroom doors and turning area/space for wheelchairs were inaccessible. No bathroom reached full accessibility, and 31.2% were entirely inaccessible. Non-compliance was evident of the standard 9050:2004 of the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards. Raising the awareness of health and engineering professionals is recommended to learn technical accessibility standards and implement them.

Abstract: Data sparseness is a primary challenge in sentence segmentation and punctuating for ancient Chinese literatures using natural language processing technology. In order to overcome this difficulty, designed a 6-tag set and proposed a method based on cascaded conditional random fields. The main idea was as follows: basing on the 6-tag set,a low level model determined the boundaries of sentences according to observation sequence and a high level model punctuated sentences taking consideration of both observation s...

Abstract: The practice of obstetrics and gynecology has changed dramatically in the last decade. Evidence exists for a marked increasein professional dissatisfaction, poor personal relationship and burnout. These conditions are now being seen in younger physiciansand in training programmes. Physicians have thus stopped practicing obstetrics and gynecology at a much younger age and areincreasingly quitting training programmes. These findings, along with the recent societal liability of the profession and medico-legalcrisis, leave many communities with a shortage of physicians who practice gynecology in particular. A potential solution foralleviating some of these conditions is the introduction of a new paradigm of training in obstetrics and gynecology that producesa physician whose sole focus of practice is managing the gynecological patient as its end product. This purposive training willremove from the physician the need to be always available to the laboring patient that potentially may decrease stress, improvephysician well being , increase length of professional practice and decrease burnout. The “gynecological” trainee will also devotemore time to apprenticeship, coaching in communication and technical skills and in turn improve patent care and satisfactionbecause he or she will have no other distractions during training.

A study on health systems and services was conducted to evaluate the quality of nursing care for patients admitted to the Gynecology Surgery Service of "Tamara Bunke Bider" Teaching Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Santiago de Cuba during the second trimester of 2010, in order to evaluate the professional performance by the Nursing Care Process. A group of specialists was formed who processed the criteria, indicators and standards applied in this regard. The results of indicators were compared with established standards and the ratio of quality was calculated, which revealed that these indicators mostly reached 100% values and quality ratio >1. It is concluded that the quality of care provided in that service was appropriate.

Gynecological Surgery and the Robot  [PDF]

Engineering (ENG) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/eng.2014.62009

As the only robotic device with FDA approval for gynecological surgery, the da Vinci? Surgical System dominates robot-assisted surgery in the field. Benefits to the Surgeon include decreased risk of neck and back injury secondary to improved ergonomics. However, patients benefit greatly due to decreased length of stay, decreased blood loss and analgesic requirements. Unfortunately the initial economic impact of purchasing and maintaining a robot is great but must be balanced with the potential savings from reduced length of stay and earlier return to normal activity. This article looks at the indications for robot-assisted surgery in gynecology. Assessing the efficacy of this modality compared to both straight stick (Laparoscopy) and open procedures. We discuss the impact and implications for surgical training imposed by robotic surgery. Furthermore, we assess the safety of robotic surgery from both the surgeons prospective and as a surgical modality.

Although this technique is unlikely to replace the two-dimensional ultrasound, its role as a diagnostic tool is being explored. In fact, in the field of gynecology there has been a steady increase in the number of papers published in the last few years. These applications include: imaging the uterus, uterine cavity, adnexa, and pelvic floor as well as reproductive medicine, such as the prediction of IVF success or ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome. The aim of this paper is to review the current status of three-dimensional ultrasound in clinical practice in gynecology.
