Professional Competence and Basic Ability-oriented Game Theory Analysis of China's Higher Vocational College English Teaching  [cached]

Abstract: To strengthen the professional competence and basic ability is the objective requirements of the Chinese higher vocational college English teaching, while the positioning of the teaching objectives is partial to a "prisoner's dilemma" in game situations that any party will result in. To get rid of the "dilemma", we have to adopt strategies to coordinate them by cultivating students’ ability to transform their English knowledge to English applying, select or prepare a variety of professional-oriented materials, increase ESP elective courses and application assessment projects of English test.

Abstract: Large-class English teaching is an inexorable trend in many Chinese universities and colleges, which leads to a strange and serious phenomenon that most students’ English is ironically but vividly described as “the dumb English”. Therefore, cultivating students’ communicative skills and developing their language competence has become a clear focus and an urgent task for all the college English teachers in China. This paper explores some useful speaking activities that can be adapted in group work in some way to suit Chinese learners. It suggests that it is necessary to reform the current instruction model in College English classes, and the group work can help develop the students’ competence of English speaking.

The cultivation of university students' socialist core values is the need of fostering creative talents,the primary task of higher education,and also the basic guarantee of students' healthy growth and development.But the learning and teaching of core values is different from the general sense of learning and teaching.Cultivating university students' socialist core values must integrate the knowledge logic,education logic and life logic of socialist core values,link up the symbol world,value world and practice world of socialist core values,and build a "intensive + extensive learning" "inside + outside class" "inside + outside school" three-dimensional cultivation path.

Abstract:
随着中国国际地位的提升,对外经济文化交流活动也越来越频繁,国家的发展需要大批具有英语运用能力的人才。大学英语教学,承担了重要的培养英语人才的任务。为了实现这个目标,大学英语教学改革势在必行。大学英语教学要改变传统的方法,多使用现代化的教学手段,如网络,多媒体等等,让学生更多地参与课堂活动。让讲解式教学变为活动式,参与式,任务式教学,让学生成为课堂的主体,成为学生语言实践的场所。当然,相应的教材改革和测试改革也是必需的;而且,培养双师型的教师队伍也是很有必要的。
With the promotion of China’s International status, economic and cultural exchanges being in-creasingly frequent, we need a large number of English talents. College English teaching takes the important task of cultivating English talents. In order to achieve this goal, College English Teaching reform must be imperative. College English Teaching should change the traditional methods, and use modern teaching ways, such as network, multimedia, and so on, to make students participate in class activities. To change the teaching activities into participatory and task-based teaching, we should let students become the main body and have more language practice. Of course, corres-ponding textbook reform and test reform are necessary; moreover, cultivation of double-type of teachers is required.

Abstract: In recent years, western pragmatism has been prevalent on the campuses of Chinese universities. Its direct result is the emergence of such a trend in fine arts teaching which attaches high importance to the pragmatic side of the art learning and disregards fostering the humanistic qualities of the students. One of the most serious phenomena of this trend is that cultivating college students’ humanistic qualities has been duly neglected. This paper attempts to discuss the possible causes of this phenomenon from both subjective and objective perspectives, illustrating the great importance of western fine arts appreciation course on cultivating students’character. It attempts to unite cultivating college students’ humanistic qualities and art education together theoretically and practically in order to change the present situation of art teaching, some solutions and suggestions concerning course arrangement and teaching are also offered.

Abstract:

The teaching strategy plays an important part in the effectiveness of the college English teaching. After comparing the current college English teaching strategies in China, this paper attempts to analyze the process teaching strategies and the cognitive teaching strategies of the novice, the proficient and the expert college English teachers at different teaching stages of teaching and proposes the optimizing path of the teaching strategies. This helps make up for the lack of research of enhancing the college English teaching strategies inChina.

Abstract: This article discusses the impact of the advent of primary English on the development of College English in China. The advent of English in primary schools as a teaching subject has brought about a downward shift of focus of the English education system in China. Basic English education will be accomplished in primary and secondary schools. The part of basic English education conventionally assumed by college English will be gone and in its place there will be various content-based English courses, bilingual courses and courses taught entirely in English on different disciplines relevant to the majors of college students.

Abstract: English classroom teaching and learning is an important aspect of English teaching and learning. The analysis of classroom discourse is a very important form which classroom process research has taken. The present study focuses on college English classroom discourse. Through a detailed description and analysis of the collected data by referring to Sinclair and Coulthard’s classroom discourse analysis model, the problem of patterns of the classroom discourse is made clear and on the basis of which a few strategies for college English teachers are put forward by the author in order to improve college English teaching and learning.
