A Study on the Evaluation Index and Weight for Organizational Innovation  [PDF]

Abstract: The objective of this research is to construct Taiwan`s high-tech industries organizational innovation evaluation index and weight, in order to evaluate Taiwan`s current level of ability in this area and to be a guideline for business. In addition, an organizational innovation model was also constructed to act as a foundation for innovation theory. The research methods being employed included literature review, in-depth interview and small group technique, which were used as a first step in constructing an organizational innovation measurement model. Before constructing the organizational innovation measurement model for the present study, a weighted measurement index was created through integrating the subjective and objective weight restriction to create. After finishing the construct of organizational innovation model, the empirical studies conclude that the most important dimension to measure organizational innovation including: product innovation, process innovation and organizational structure and climate innovation.

Abstract: In order to provide theoretical support and observed basis for the implementation of industrial sustainable development, industrial technology upgrade, industrial structure optimization and other strategy initiatives, beginning with the research of enterprise technology innovation ability, access to lots of documents and the government work reports, summing up the current domestic and foreign study situation of industrial technology innovation capability evaluation index system, summarizing qualitative and quantitative evaluation index system at different levels, it is more intuitive, efficient and scientific for this system framework to assess industrial technology innovation capability.
Classification and Evaluation on Capacity of Technological Innovation for a Country

Abstract: In this paper, evaluation indexes on capacity of technological innovation for a country is built. The situation and capacity of technological innovation for 28 countries (region) are classified and evaluated respectively by fuzzy clustering and averaging with weights which are determined based on correlation analysis. Some valuable conclusions are deduced.

Abstract: The research shows that projection pursuit cluster (PPC) model is able to form a suitable index for overcom-ing the difficulties in comprehensive evaluation, which can be used to analyze complex multivariate prob-lems. The PPC model is widely used in multifactor cluster and evaluation analysis, but there are a few prob-lems needed to be solved in practice, such as cutoff radius parameter calibration. In this study, a new model-projection pursuit dynamic cluster (PPDC) model-based on projection pursuit principle is developed and used in water resources carrying capacity evaluation in China for the first time. In the PPDC model, there are two improvements compared with the PPC model, 1) a new projection index is constructed based on dynamic cluster principle, which avoids the problem of parameter calibration in the PPC model success-fully; 2) the cluster results can be outputted directly according to the PPDC model, but the cluster results can be got based on the scatter points of projected characteristic values or the re-analysis for projected character-istic values in the PPC model. The results show that the PPDC model is a very effective and powerful tool in multifactor data exploratory analysis. It is a new method for water resources carrying capacity evaluation. The PPDC model and its application to water resources carrying capacity evaluation are introduced in detail in this paper.

Abstract: The aim of this paper is to study relationship between knowledge management capacity and innovation performance. Knowledge management capacity includes knowledge sharing, knowledge application, and knowledge acquisition. For innovation performance, author considers the most important indicators including administrative innovation, product innovation, and process innovation. According to research model, 9 hypotheses are developed and the results show that there is not any positive relationship between knowledge acquisition and administrative innovation.

Abstract: This paper mainly evaluates and analyzes the collaborative innovation ability of school-enterprise cooperation through the construction of key evaluation index system and model of the application. First, we construct the general evaluation index system. After screening with characteristics of group decision making method, we get the key evaluation index system. And then, we construct the two-level fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model to evaluate the influence degree of the key indicators. Finally, the practicability with the instance data has been tested. And based on the results of comprehensive evaluation, we carry on the specific two-level analysis of the data on knowledge collaborative innovation ability, technology collaborative innovation ability and information collaborative innovation ability. Through the development degree of every collaborative innovation abilities, the causes and effects of the factors have been analyzed and got.
Knowledge Management and Innovation Capacity

Abstract: We are living in an era where our capacity to intelligently use knowledge basically determines the future. Knowledge management is designed to present strategy, process, and technology to increase organizational learning and performance. In addition, it can help to develop the organizational innovation capacity. While there are a lack of research on the relation between knowledge management and innovation capacity in Iranian organizations, this study aims to identify any effect of knowledge management processes on innovation capacity. This study applies the structural equation modeling (SEM) to examine the research framework which was based on a survey of 240 knowledge workers from 30 manufacture factories in Iran. The results show that four of seven processes of knowledge management include knowledge creation, knowledge organization, knowledge dissemination, and knowledge application were strongly associated with factories innovation capability. Other three knowledge management factors include knowledge identification, knowledge storage, and knowledge collection that were recognized as factors not associated with those factories innovation capability. The results of this research paper can be used by managers to implement their knowledge management process more effectively in order to increase their innovation capacity.
A Comparative Analysis of the Application of H-index, G-index, and A-index in Institutional-Level Research Evaluation  [PDF]

Abstract: This study compared the application of h-index, g-index, and A-index in institutional level research evaluation. 99 universities in Taiwan were ranked by the three indices. Most of the universities had relatively low publication and citation numbers at the time of this study. The analysis focused on the range of equal values resulted from the three different indices, the range of disparity, the order or rank, and the degree of correlation among the indices. The results showed that g-index and h-index were similar in that the use of the two indices produced similar values and rankings. Both had the problem of equal value in which multiple universities got the same index value, making it difficult to differentiate the universities’ performance. In contrast, A-index was able to rank the universities by emphasizing on the highly cited articles and at the same time avoided the problem of equal value. It was thus considered a better index for the institutional level research evaluation in Taiwan.
