Intelligent Parking Management System Based on Image Processing  [PDF]

Abstract: This paper aims to present an intelligent system for parking space detection based on image processing technique. The proposed system captures and processes the rounded image drawn at parking lot and produces the information of the empty car parking spaces. In this work, a camera is used as a sensor to take photos to show the occupancy of car parks. The reason why a camera is used is because with an image it can detect the presence of many cars at once. Also, the camera can be easily moved to detect different car parking lots. By having this image, the particular car parks vacant can be known and then the processed information was used to guide a driver to an available car park rather than wasting time to find one. The proposed system has been developed in both software and hardware platform. An automatic parking system is used to make the whole process of parking cars more efficient and less complex for both drivers and administrators.

Abstract: Car parking has become an immense issue, especially in big cities. There are two main reasons: Firstly, the growth in population, secondly, the security. Moreover, the car theft has become an evil art haunting drivers. In this paper, we provide an interface and a software/ hardware module for Intelligent Car Park Management System (ICPMS). The ICPMS will provide an extensive management for vehicles including parking facilities and security. The ICPMS is validated using a test case scenario and extensive experimentation proves the feasibility of the approach.

Abstract: The impact of intelligent three-dimensional parking spaces falling protection board dropping on falling protection obstacle is a nonlinear structure problem. The reliability of falling protection system has been confirmed through a physical test. Drop impact of falling protection system was simulated by nonlinear finite element method. Mechanical properties and dynamic characteristics of the falling protection system in the drop impact process were analyzed by ANSYS/LS-DYNA. The stress, deformation, velocity, and acceleration were obtained. Security and reliability of the devices were confirmed. It is referred to design the three-dimensional parking spaces falling protection system.

Abstract: 随着中国经济的持续发展,国内私家车数量猛速增长。停车难已成为制约城市发展的瓶颈,为化解城市停车位资源稀缺、信息不匹配等矛盾,一批智能错时停车系统运营平台开始运营。本文以贵阳市为例,对智能错时停车系统使用现状进行调查与分析,针对当前行业存在的问题给出建议与对策,并对其未来发展趋势进行预测。
With the sustainable development of China’s economy, the number of private cars is increasing rapidly, causing parking problems to become a bottleneck that restricts urban development. In order to resolve such problems as parking space shortage and mismatched information, a batch of platforms that run intelligent parking-hour alternating system have begun their operations. Taking Guiyang as an example, this thesis investigates and analyzes the status quo of the systems’ ap-plication, puts forward some suggestions and measures for the problems currently existing in the industry, and forecasts its future development trend.

Abstract: Car parking lots are an important object class in many traffic and civilian applications. With the problems of increasing urban trafficcongestion and the ever increasing shortage of space, these car parking lots are needed to be well equipped with automatic parkingInformation and Guidance systems. Goals of intelligent parking lot management include counting the number of parked cars, and identifyingthe available location. This work proposes a new system for providing parking information and guidance using image processing. The proposed system includes counting the number of parked vehicles, and dentifying the stalls available. The system detects cars through images instead of using electronic sensors embedded on the floor. A camera is installed at the entry point of the parking lot. It capturesimage sequences. The image sequences are then analyzed using digital image processing for vehicle detection and according to the status ofvehicle occupancy inside, real time guidance and information is provided to the incoming driver.

Abstract: Indoor positioning technologies have been widely studied with a number of solutions being proposed, yet substantial applications and services are still fairly primitive. Taking advantage of the emerging concept of the connected car, the popularity of smartphones and mobile Internet, and precise indoor locations, this study presents the development of a novel intelligent parking service called iParking. With the iParking service, multiple parties such as users, parking facilities and service providers are connected through Internet in a distributed architecture. The client software is a light-weight application running on a smartphone, and it works essentially based on a precise indoor positioning solution, which fuses Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) signals and the measurements of the built-in sensors of the smartphones. The positioning accuracy, availability and reliability of the proposed positioning solution are adequate for facilitating the novel parking service. An iParking prototype has been developed and demonstrated in a real parking environment at a shopping mall. The demonstration showed how the iParking service could improve the parking experience and increase the efficiency of parking facilities. The iParking is a novel service in terms of cost- and energy-efficient solution.

Abstract: Smart Parking Systems obtain information about available parking spaces, process it and then place the car at a certain position. A prototype of the parking assistance system based on the proposed architecture was constructed here. The adopted hardware, software, and implementation solutions in this prototype construction are described in this paper. The effective circular design is introduced here having rack-pinion special mechanism which is used to lift and place the car in the certain position. The design of rack pinion mechanism is also simulated using AUTODESK INVENTOR and COMSOL software.

Abstract: Parking is a big issue in thickly populated areas and in larger cities due to heavy traffic. This intended application of rotational multistory parking system effectively minimizes this issue. It results in less space and more secure parking. ATMEL microcontroller is used as main processor while LCD and motors are as complimentary components for display and rotation The model is based on circular mechanism giving low cost, less space and optimum performance. Password locking system is used to verify the object and detects number of free spaces available in the parking lot. The world has become a global market and numbers of vehicles are also increased to an uncontrollable situation. Keeping this problem the intended model is designed. Password locking system embedded in the work has made the parking of vehicles very much secure.

Abstract: As, the number of vehicles are increased day by day in rapid manner. It causes the problem of traffic congestion, pollution (noise and air). To overcome this problem A FPGA based parking system has been proposed. In this paper, parking system is implemented using Finite State Machine modelling. The system has two main modules i.e. identification module and slot checking module. Identification module identifies the visitor. Slot checking module checks the slot status. These modules are modeled in HDL and implemented on FPGA. A prototype of parking system is designed with various interfaces like sensor interfacing, stepper motor and LCD.

Abstract: The evolution of mobile communications has been rapidly popular in recent years. In Taiwan, mobile phones predominantly possess multiple functions. In other words, mobile phones are not only conventional phones but also smart computer systems embedding with intelligent agent mechanisms to integrate heterogeneous applications. In addition, the billing system (Customer DB, Tariff and Sharing Schemes, Rating and Bill Data) is the crucial part of the communication system. It is an independent system to calculate the fee of communication. There are a lot of applications embedded into the mobile device in the market; however, how to integrate the billing system with the applications is insufficient. This study uses the RFID characteristics and intelligent agent attributes to establish a communication channel in order to automatically transmit data packets from the source site to the destination site. It exploits the intelligent agents to combine the intelligent parking system and the billing system. In addition, it proposes four kinds of intelligent behavior models including the intelligent agent cooperation behavior model, communication behavior model, coordination behavior model and competition behavior model to improve the process more smoothly and automatically. Using the intelligent agent characteristics and integrating the RFID features with the billing system are the most significant key factors. The proposed method improves the process, reduces the management cost and provides more flexible, stable and available systems.
