Abstract: ?针对光网络单元(onu)的节能问题,提出了一种新的基于轮询周期的时隙管理方案。本方案以轮询周期为带宽分配单元,在每个轮询周期的开始为各onu分配收/发时隙,并将时隙分配信息通过修改过的gate帧广播至所有onu中,各onu接收gate帧并提取各自的收/发时隙分配信息,并在本轮询周期分配的时隙内接收/发送数据,在无收发任务的时间内进入低耗能的睡眠状态。理论分析和数值仿真计算表明,采用本方案的onu,其能耗仅为普通onu能耗的11%,而引入的下行分组延时不超过2ms,下行平均队列长度在2mbit以内。
The BSS population in NGC 6229  [PDF]

Abstract: We have used a combination of high-resolution Hubble Space Telescope WFPC2 and wide-field ground-based observations in ultraviolet and optical bands to study the blue straggler star (BSS) population of the outer-halo globular cluster NGC 6229, over its entire radial extent. A total of 64 bright BSS (with m255 6 21.30, corresponding to m555 6 20.75) has been identified. The BSS projected radial distribution is found to be bimodal, with a high central peak, a well defined minimum at intermediate radii (r \sim 40"), and an upturn in the outskirts. From detailed star counts even in the very inner region, we compute the centre of gravity of the cluster and the most accurate and extended radial density profile ever published for this system. The profile is reasonably well reproduced by a standard King model with an extended core (rc \simeq 9.5") and a modest value of the concentration parameter (c \simeq 1.49). However, a deviation from the model is noted in the most external region of the cluster (at r > 250" from the centre). This feature needs to be further investigated in order to assess the possible presence of a tidal tail in this cluster.

Abstract: Purpose: To compare the effect of Balanced Salt Solution Plus (BSS Plus, Alcon Laboratories, Fort Worth, Texas, USA) and fortified regular BSS on the cornea and lens, when used for continuous irrigation in pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) surgery. Methods: Prospective, investigator masked, randomised study. Forty patients were randomly assigned to undergo PPV using BSS Plus (n=20) or fortified BSS (n=20) [regular BSS, fortified with 10.5 cc. of dextrose in water (D5W) and 13.1cc. of 8.4% sodium bicarbonate]. Intraoperative features of the corneal epithelium, postoperative changes in the corneal endothelial cell denstiy (ECD) at 3 months, and clarity of the lens during surgery and postoperatively were evaluated. Results: Intraoperative epithelial changes were similar in both groups with 7 (35%) of the cases having the epithelium removed in the BSS Plus group and 8 (40%) in the BSS fortified group (P=0.23). The mean differences in ECD (3 months versus preoperative) in the operated eyes when adjusted for changes in the control eye showed no difference with the type of BSS (P=0.98). Intraoperative lens changes were more significant (P=0.018) in the BSS fortified group. Postoperative lens status at 3 months was similar for both groups. Though there was a trend towards worse postoperative nuclear sclerosis change in the BSS fortified group, it was not significant (P=0.160). Conclusion: Standard BSS fortified with dextrose and bicarbonate is an efficacious infusion fluid during pars plana vitrectomy. Both solutions showed comparable effects on postoperative corneal endothelial cell density and corneal epithelial changes intraoperatively. BSS fortified has more lenticular changes intraoperatively than BSS Plus although no lens had to be removed in either group. The study implications are important since BSS fortified is significantly less expensive than BSS Plus.

Abstract: We have used a combination of high-resolution Hubble Space Telescope WFPC2 and wide-field ground-based observations in ultraviolet and optical bands to study the BSS population of the globular clusters NGC 6229 and M75. The combination of different filters allows us to optimally select specific stellar populations. In particular, the UV bands are ideal to study the hot objects such as HB and BSS stars. In both these clusters, BSS are more segregated than the normal stars. In NGC 6229 the BSS projected radial distribution is found to be bimodal, with a high central peak, a well defined minimum at intermediate radii, and an upturn in the outskirts, while no significant upturn in the BSS frequency has been observed in the outskirts of M75, suggesting that these clusters are in different dynamical evolutionary phases.

Abstract: For the additive real BSS machines using only constants 0 and 1 and order tests we consider the corresponding Turing reducibility and characterize some semi-decidable decision problems over the reals. In order to refine, step-by-step, a linear hierarchy of Turing degrees with respect to this model, we define several halting problems for classes of additive machines with different abilities and construct further suitable decision problems. In the construction we use methods of the classical recursion theory as well as techniques for proving bounds resulting from algebraic properties. In this way we extend a known hierarchy of problems below the halting problem for the additive machines using only equality tests and we present a further subhierarchy of semi-decidable problems between the halting problems for the additive machines using only equality tests and using order tests, respectively.

Abstract: Non-negative blind source separation (BSS) has raised interest in various fields of research, as testified by the wide literature on the topic of non-negative matrix factorization (NMF). In this context, it is fundamental that the sources to be estimated present some diversity in order to be efficiently retrieved. Sparsity is known to enhance such contrast between the sources while producing very robust approaches, especially to noise. In this paper we introduce a new algorithm in order to tackle the blind separation of non-negative sparse sources from noisy measurements. We first show that sparsity and non-negativity constraints have to be carefully applied on the sought-after solution. In fact, improperly constrained solutions are unlikely to be stable and are therefore sub-optimal. The proposed algorithm, named nGMCA (non-negative Generalized Morphological Component Analysis), makes use of proximal calculus techniques to provide properly constrained solutions. The performance of nGMCA compared to other state-of-the-art algorithms is demonstrated by numerical experiments encompassing a wide variety of settings, with negligible parameter tuning. In particular, nGMCA is shown to provide robustness to noise and performs well on synthetic mixtures of real NMR spectra.

Abstract: ?为有效解决绿色无源光网络中的节能效果与时延性能的矛盾,提出一种支持onu模块独立不连续收发数据的节能方法。通过光网络单元的模块化,各能耗模块独立地切换睡眠或唤醒模式,从而在规定时隙内实现不连续地收发数据;通过子周期划分,将实时业务集中到第一个子周期内收发,提升了网络的总体服务质量;提出完全独立的上下行带宽分配算法,使所提方法在流量上下行不对称的应用场景更具优势。仿真表明,所提方法在保证业务时延性能的前提下,网络的能耗得到进一步降低。

Abstract: Commonly in encryption or decryption process some of the characters are inter changed by using some encryption and decryption algorithms (like DES, IDEA) with key. But in Bit Shifting and Stuffing (BSS) system to represent a printable character it needs only seven bits as per its ASCII value. In computer system to represent a printable character it requires one byte, i.e. 8 bits. So a printable character occupies 7 bits and the last bit value is 0 which is not useful for the character. In BSS method we are stuffing a new bit in the place of unused bit which is shifting from another printable character. Soin this BSS methodology after encryption, for every eight bytes of plain text it will generate seven bytes cipher text and in decryption, for every seven bytes of cipher text it will reproduce eight bytes of plain text.
