Abstract: The iris recognition is an emerging technology widely used due to various characteristics such as uniqueness,universal, stable, independent of genetics, acceptable etc. The recognition is carried out using discrete wavelet transform (DWT). It includes collection of iris database, carrying out preprocessing (includes separation ofpupil), normalization and feature extraction. Normalization includes polar to rectangular conversion. After this area of interest is selected from which features are extracted using DWT. It generates approximate, horizontal, vertical and diagonal coefficients. These are compared with the stored templates using hamming distance. If thetemplate is match with the stored one than the match ID is displayed. The unauthorized person is indicated by displaying ID equal to ‘00’

Abstract: 大凡经世千载的民间食品,其“型”融于“名”,且隐于“意”。作者从促进中华传统食品非物质文化遗产挖掘的角度出发,借助多学科交叉纵横谈,领悟以圆、方、角、条为基型的食品渊源,以及中华食品“型、名、意”之间交互贯通的历史背景和文化轶趣。指出中华食品非遗保护的真谛,乃基于传承食品物性之外的更深层次的人文属性。呼吁唾弃地方保护主义,弃小见大、清源正本、返璞归真,推动有中华食品内涵特色的可持续发展。
The names of Chinese foods usually comprise the shape characters. In order to explore the profound culture connotations of traditional Chinese foods as the non-material cultural heritage, the stereoscopic constitution, nomination, historical development and cultural significance are integrally pondered, which is based on the disciplinary crossing-over principle. In this article, the historical background and cultural anecdotes of Chinese foods, especially with the shapes in round, square, triangle and strip, are discussed. It points out that the significance of protecting the character of Chinese food as the non-material cultural heritage lies in the rational exploration of its humanistic connotation, and the promotion of its sustainable development as well

Abstract: The proposed paper focuses in outlining the implementation of online laboratories within the framework of the iLab Shared Architecture (ISA) in order to facilitate sharing those labs among several institutions and managing laboratory users. The laboratories are compliant with the ISA batched architecture, which is based on Web services to mediate the communication between Lab Servers and Lab Clients. The first laboratory presented is a Hybrid Lab that allows for the realization of real experiments as well as simulations with an analog programmable device.

Abstract:

The Seppic Company developed a new adjuvant Montanide ISA 201 VG, the upgraded version of Montanide ISA 206 VG, which keep the advantage and added some chemical components on the basis of ISA 206 to improve the cellular responses. The aim of the study is to compare the efficacy of swine FMD (foot-and-mouth) vaccine emulsified with oil adjuvant of ISA 201 or ISA 206 respectively. The pigs were vaccinated with FMD vaccine emulsified with inactive FMD type O antigen and adjuvant ISA 201 or ISA 206 respectively, according to 2.0 ml (1/1 dose), 0.67 ml (1/3 dose), 0.22 ml (1/9 dose) to calculate their PD50. The sera were collected from the vaccination of the day 0, 3, 7, 14, 21, 28 and the ELISA FMD type O antibody were detected. Furthermore, the PD50 were calculated after the pigs were challenged with virulent FMDV type O on 28 days post vaccination. The ELISA antibody titers of 201vaccine were significantly higher than that of 206 (except the third time). The fifty percent of protection dose (PD50) of 201 vaccine (PD50 = 15.59) was higher than that of 206 vaccine (PD50 = 10.05). The above data showed that the efficacy of the FMD vaccine emulsified with ISA 201 was better than which with ISA 206.

Abstract: This paper provides comparison between two image compression technique such as DCT and DWT. Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) and Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) are the most commonly used transformation. DCT has high energy compaction property and requires less computational resources. On the other hand, DWT is multi-resolution transformation. PSNR and Compression ratio are one of the parameter of image compression. DWT performs much better compression as well as visual perception at higher compression ratio. This scheme reduces “false contouring” and “blocking artifacts” significantly. The simulation results and different PSNR value shows that the DWT algorithm has better quality and efficiency but it takes longer time than DCT.

Abstract: In this paper, the digital data can be transformed using Discrete Wavelet Transform. The images need to be transformed without loosing of information. The Discrete Wavelet Transform was based on time-scale representation, which provides efficient multi-resolution. The lifting based scheme (5, 3) filters give lossless mode of information as per the JPEG 2000 Standard. The lifting based DWT are lower computational complexity and reduced memory requirements. Since Conventional convolution based DWT is area and power hungry which can be overcome by using the lifting based scheme. The DWT is being increasingly used for image coding. This is due to the fact that DWT supports features like progressive image transmission (by quality, by resolution), ease of transformed image manipulation, region of interest coding, etc. DWT has traditionally been implemented by convolution. Such an implementation demands both a large number of computations and a large storage features that are not desirable for either high-speed or low-power applications. Recently, a lifting-based scheme that often requires far fewer computations has been proposed for the DWT. In this paper, the design of Lossless 2-D DWT using Lifting Scheme Architecture will be modeled using the Verilog HDL and its functionality were verified using the Modelsim tool and can be synthesized using the Xilinx tool.
