Leptonic and Semileptonic Decays of Charm and Bottom Hadrons  [PDF]
Jeffrey D. Richman,Patricia R. Burchat
Physics , 1995, DOI: 10.1103/RevModPhys.67.893
Abstract: We review the experimental measurements and theoretical descriptions of leptonic and semileptonic decays of particles containing a single heavy quark, either charm or bottom. Measurements of bottom semileptonic decays are used to determine the magnitudes of two fundamental parameters of the standard model, the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix elements $V_{cb}$ and $V_{ub}$. These parameters are connected with the physics of quark flavor and mass, and they have important implications for the breakdown of CP symmetry. To extract precise values of $|V_{cb}|$ and $|V_{ub}|$ from measurements, however, requires a good understanding of the decay dynamics. Measurements of both charm and bottom decay distributions provide information on the interactions governing these processes. The underlying weak transition in each case is relatively simple, but the strong interactions that bind the quarks into hadrons introduce complications. We also discuss new theoretical approaches, especially heavy-quark effective theory and lattice QCD, which are providing insights and predictions now being tested by experiment. An international effort at many laboratories will rapidly advance knowledge of this physics during the next decade.
Semileptonic Decays of Bottom and Charm Baryons within Relativistic Quark Model  [PDF]
M. A. Ivanov,V. E. Lyubovitskij
Physics , 1995,
Abstract: The results for observables of semileptonic decays of bottom and charm baryons (Isgur-Wise functions, decay rates, distributions, asymmetry parameters) are given within relativistic quark model. A comparison with recent experimental data (CLEO Collaboration) is made.

Mikhail A. Ivanov
Physics , 2002,
Abstract: We present the results of a study of the semileptonic decays of the $B_c$-meson and the lowest lying doubly heavy baryons using the relativistic quark model. We do not employ a heavy quark mass expansion but keep the masses of the heavy quarks and hadronss finite. We calculate all relevant form factors and decay rates.
Charm and Bottom Baryon Decays in the Bethe-Salpeter Approach: Heavy to Heavy Semileptonic Transitions  [PDF]

Physics , 1998, DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevD.59.074016
Abstract: Charm and bottom baryons and mesons are studied within the framework of a relativistically covariant 3D reduction of the Bethe-Salpeter equation. We carry out an analysis of semileptonic decays of heavy hadrons within this framework using explicit oscillator-type wave functions where we calculate Isgur-Wise functions, decay rates and asymmetry parameters. Within this model we also study the effect of interactions between the light quarks inside the heavy baryon and how they affect the values of the computed heavy baryon observables. We also elaborate on the role of relativistic effects in the calculation of the heavy baryon Isgur-Wise function.
QCD corrections to decays of polarised charm and bottom quarks  [PDF]
A. Czarnecki,M. Je?abek,J. G. K?rner,J. H. Kühn
Physics , 1993, DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevLett.73.384
Abstract: Distributions of charged leptons in semileptonic $\Lambda_c$ and $\Lambda_b$ decays can be used as spin analysers for the corresponding charm and bottom quarks. QCD corrections to the energy spectra of charged leptons have been given in the literature as well as the corrections to the angular dependence for polarised up-type quarks. The analogous formulae are derived also for polarised down-type quarks. These results are applied to the decays of polarised charm and bottom quarks. The corrections to the asymmetries are found to be small for charm decays. For bottom decays they exhibit a non-trivial dependence on the energy of the charged lepton.

Physics , 2006, DOI: 10.1016/j.nuclphysbps.2006.12.049
Abstract: Several high energy experiments have been actively pursuing the analyses of semileptonic decays of charm mesons, resulting in numerous new results and publications. In this report, we summarize the recent efforts on the topics of pseudoscalar and vector charm semileptonic decays, especially in the area of branching fractions and form factor measurements.

Physics , 2004,
Abstract: In this paper, we review recent progress in the field of semileptonic decays of charm mesons, including topics on the relative branching ratio and the form factors. The comparison between the experimental form factor measurements and the Lattice QCD calculations is emphasized.
