 Frontiers in Neurology , 2010, DOI: 10.3389/fneur.2010.00009 Abstract: Neurohospitalists represent an emerging neurological subspecialty focusing on inpatient neurological disease. Little data exists regarding neurohospitalist practice information and clinical activity. A survey among neurohospitalists was performed to help define the subspecialty, yield demographic information, practice characteristics, and understand clinical and non-clinical activities. During the formation the Neurohospitalist Section of the American Academy of Neurology September 2008, an online survey (29 questions mixed categorical, numerical, and free text) of 93 neurohospitalists was performed. The survey closed on October 13, 2008. The survey achieved a 54% response rate. Eighty-two percent of respondents were male, mean age 42 (range, 34–68), median practice duration 6 years, with broad distribution of practices across the US. Seventy-five percent of respondents reported having general neurology residency plus additional fellowship training (54% vascular neurology fellowship, 13% neurocritical care, and 33% other no response). Fifty-one percent of neurohospitalists were hired by non-academic (private) institutions, whereas academic institutions hired 49%. There was a wide array of responses for call frequency, duration, number of practice partners, and annual income. A uniform definition of the neurohospitalist subspecialty emerged as one who cares for inpatients, focusing primarily on in-hospital responsibilities. Neurohospitalists defined themselves as inpatient neurological subspecialists. Neurohospitalists have a broad US geographic distribution (and possibly international), in both academic and private practice (or hybrid) forms, and typically provide inpatient and Emergency Department (ED) call coverage for hospitals or outpatient neurologic practices. Most neurohospitalists were involved in administrative aspects of stroke or inpatient quality initiatives.
 Genome Biology , 2002, DOI: 10.1186/gb-2002-3-8-reports4027 Abstract: Over the past two decades, advances in genomic technology have allowed laboratories to generate vast amounts of biological data. These data include, but are not limited to, gene sequences, protein structures, information on gene expression (transcripts, metabolites and proteins) and metabolic pathways. Automated instrumentation has enabled large volumes of data to be generated and automatically stored in computer databases, and this data has as many different formats as there are instruments. In addition to the new information gathered from genomic technologies, pharmaceutical and biotech companies have large amounts of 'legacy data' - data inherited from their own and other sources on chemical structures and properties of compounds, and clinical, phenotypic and toxicological information. Most of this is stored in older types of databases designed for the particular type of data, and a major computational challenge is to integrate the new genomic information with current database systems in order to facilitate decision-making.John Weinstein (National Cancer Institute (NCI), Bethesda, USA) gave an overview of genomic and other 'omic' technologies and appropriately coined the new name 'integromics' for the data-integration issues associated with genomic research. He described a pharmaco-genomics database (Leadminer) developed at NCI to support high-throughput chemical screening using 60 cell lines and 70,000 chemical compounds. He presented a variety of data-analysis techniques, including the cluster-correlation image mapping (CIM) technique pioneered by his group in collaboration with that of Mike Eisen (University of California at Berkeley, USA). Cluster correlation provides a way of investigating gene-expression patterns associated with drug activity, characterizing both the cell lines and the putative modes of action of the chemical compounds using hierarchical clustering methods.  ？obot Ankica Zbornik Matice Srpske za Drustvene Nauke , 2010, DOI: 10.2298/zmsdn1031023s Abstract: In this paper, population challenges are recognized from the perspective of various demographic structures of the male and female population. The larger scope of female population in Vojvodina is mainly the result of a more emphasized gender imbalance among the population of 65 or over. There are more unmarried females but more males among the never-married persons. Among the middle-aged population, there are more women with higher education, but they are also economically independent to a greater extent than the male population. Gender equality is a challenge as a factor of demographic processes and as an aspect of policies directed towards the population, but adequate responses for demographic development and social care of the population are implied by both male and female positions. By comparative approach, the characteristics of gender positions and differences in Vojvodina are noted, as well as the space for promoting positions of sexes and mitigation of the gender gap. The necessity for a deeper socio-demographic analysis and empirical research of gender differences as a relevant population challenge are also noted. .

With this motto in mind, this paper aims to show how the becoming ASEAN and its powerful neighbors could avoid costly errors in forming a working union of nations by not looking at the completed total rather than a first, tangible step. By looking at the European Union and how it became what it is today, Asia will be able to avoid exaggerated expectations towards the speed at which a solid agreement can be reached. Especially in regards to the psychological mindset of decision makers grown up in nation centered rather than globally oriented societies will Europe be able to provide a lesson. The paper concludes that a working economic union should be the first step on the way to a united Asia. The underlying condition that most of Asia’s economies are controlled by Chinese emigrants provides for a notion which shall be explored as a possible stepping stone on the way to a working economic integration.
 International Journal of Web & Semantic Technology , 2012, Abstract: Increase in number of ontologies on Semantic Web and endorsement of OWL as language of discourse for the Semantic Web has lead to a scenario where research efforts in the field of ontology engineering may be applied for making the process of ontology development through reuse a viable option for ontology developers. The advantages are twofold as when existing ontological artefacts from the Semantic Web are reused, semantic heterogeneity is reduced and help in interoperability which is the essence of Semantic Web. From the perspective of ontology development advantages of reuse are in terms of cutting down on cost as well as development life as ontology engineering requires expert domain skills and is time taking process. We have devised a framework to address challenges associated with reusing ontologies from theSemantic Web. In this paper we present methods adopted for extraction and integration of concepts across multiple ontologies. We have based extraction method on features of OWL language constructs and context to extract concepts and for integration a relative semantic similarity measure is devised. We also present here guidelines for evaluation of ontology constructed. The proposed methods have been applied on concepts from food ontology and evaluation has been done on concepts from domain of academics using Golden Ontology Evaluation Method with satisfactory outcomes.

The potential conflict between Maastricht criteria and the possibility to obtain a faster real convergence with the European Union countries is explained with Ballassa-Samuelson effect. In addition, according this effect, we study the monetary policy regimes for Romanian authorities in perspective of the future admittance in Exchange Rate Mechanism II (ERM II)
 Physics , 1996, Abstract: The core of this article is a general theorem with a large number of specializations. Given a manifold $N$ and a finite number of one-parameter groups of point transformations on $N$ with generators $Y, X_{(1)}, \cdots, X_{(d)}$, we obtain, via functional integration over spaces of pointed paths on $N$ (paths with one fixed point), a one-parameter group of functional operators acting on tensor or spinor fields on $N$. The generator of this group is a quadratic form in the Lie derivatives $\La_{X_{(\a)}}$ in the $X_{(\a)}$-direction plus a term linear in $\La_Y$. The basic functional integral is over $L^{2,1}$ paths $x: {\bf T} \ra N$ (continuous paths with square integrable first derivative). Although the integrator is invariant under time translation, the integral is powerful enough to be used for systems which are not time translation invariant. We give seven non trivial applications of the basic formula, and we compute its semiclassical expansion. The methods of proof are rigorous and combine Albeverio H\oegh-Krohn oscillatory integrals with Elworthy's parametrization of paths in a curved space. Unlike other approaches we solve Schr\"odinger type equations directly, rather than solving first diffusion equations and then using analytic continuation.
 International Journal of Advanced Research in Electrical, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering , 2013, Abstract: The aim of the paper is bring out integration challenges faced during “The design of a Pulse Tube for detonation of gaseous fuel using Acetylene and Oxygen. The detonation parameters are being analysed. The data generated will help in designing of pulse detonation propulsion system”. Due to these challenges, the performance of the system was significantly degraded and remedies became absolutely necessary. Paper also deals at length to deal the challenges faced including remedial actions in subsequent paras. Subsequently, the system results brought out are significantly encouraging.
