A Low-complexity Power and Bit Allocation Algorithm for Multiuser MIMO-OFDM Systems

Abstract: In this paper, we present a low-complexity bit and power allocation algorithm for multiuser MIMO-OFDM downlink transmission. In order to minimize the total transmit power under the condition that users QoS requirements are satisfied, a novel resource allocation scheme is proposed to exploit the multiuser diversity gain. The proposed algorithm involves adaptive subcarrier allocation, adaptive modulation and eigen beamforming and achieves significant improvement in overall system performance. Simulation results shows that the proposed algorithm offers a similar performance and a lower complexity than previous algorithms.

Abstract: MIMO/OFDM is an effective architecture for future wireless communication systems. An adaptive cross-layer spatial subchannel allocation algorithm based on multiuser MIMO/OFDM systems is proposed in this paper. With the goal of maximizing overall data throughput in the physical layer we derive the criteria of subcarrier allocation and develop the adaptive allocation approach by using the T-ARQ technology in the link layer. The simulation results show that our proposed algorithm can achieve good performance and high total transmission rate efficiently.

Abstract: Two effective allocation schemes are proposed for Multiuser MIMO-OFDM systems with zero-forcing beamforming. Through adaptive power,subacarrier and bit allocation, our objective is to minimize the total transmit power while satisfying the target data rates of all users. The numerical results show that the two proposed sub-optimal methods can achieve good performance while satisfying the rate demand of users.

Abstract: In this paper, we propose a real-time adaptive subcarrier band allocation algorithm combined with antenna selection in multiuser MIMO-OFDM downlink transmission based on channel characteristic of users. This algorithm can significantly reduce the computing complexity of transmitter without apparent performance attenuation, which is more suitable for real-time environment. Simulation results showed that our proposed algorithm can obtain the approxi- mate optimal performance with significant computing complexity reduction.

Abstract: Conventional adaptive resource allocation algorithms in multiuser MIMO-OFDM systems have many problems, including high computational complexity, time consuming, and they did not consider the proportional fairness among users.This paper presented a rapid adaptive sub-carrier, bit and power allocation algorithm.This algorithm ensured the proportional fairness among users to minimize the transmit power while satisfying the rate requirement and BER constraint of each user for sub-carrier allocation.Furthermore,this algorithm could translate nonlinear optimization problems into linear optimization problems,and reduce the computational complexity effectively while ensuring the system performance.The simulation results show that this algorithm has good performance and can effectively reduce the computational complexity, and with proportional constraints the capacity is distributed more fairly and rationally among users.

Abstract: In this paper,we propose an adaptive resource allocation scheme for spatial multiplexing based multi-user MIMO/OFDM downlink system under imperfect channel information to maximize the system sum-rate and satisfy user's QoS parameters.Specially,sub-carriers are first allocated according to user's channel estimation error model and QoS pa- rameters.Then power and bit allocation is carried out on each sub-carrier accordingly.Simulation results show that the proposed adaptive scheme could achieve more system sum-rate than the fixed scheme.And it is more robust to channel error and more practical in realistic wireless communication systems with channel uncertainties.
Study of LDPC Coding and Adaptive Bit Power Allocation in MIMO-OFDM System

Abstract: In this paper, an algorithm of LDPC codes and adaptive bit power allocation in MIMO-OFDM system is proposed. The algorithms of LDPC codes with two different code rate and adaptive OFDM/MIMO-OFDM are simulated, at the same time, the adaptive algorithms of OFDM/MIMO-OFDM without coding are simulated. The simulation results show that, with the same transmission bandwidth and the same transmission entropy, the performance of adaptive OFDM system with lower rate LDPC codes is better than that without coding. Furthermore, the performance of adaptive OFDM system with high rate LDPC codes is better than that of adaptive OFDM, but worse than that of adaptive MIMO-OFDM.

Abstract: A QoS guaranteed dynamic resource allocation algorithm for downlink MIMO-OFDM systems is proposed based on the research on the issue of resource allocation in multiuser MIMO-OFDM systems. The proposed algorithm utilizes efficiently the spatio-frequency and power resources by taking full advantage of the multiuser diversity under the condition that the QoS requirements are guaranteed. So the system throughput is enhanced significantly. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme has good performance and can effectively enhance the system throughput.
An Optimal Adaptive Subcarrier Allocation for Multiuser MIMO-OFDM Transmission in Partial-channel Response Environment

Abstract: In this paper, an optimal adaptive multiuser subcarrier allocation with partial-channel response is proposed. This algorithm reduces computational complexity without apparent performance attenuation based on multiusers’ feedback information and dynamic subcarrier allocation method by considering partial-channel response caused by delayed feedback information or estimate error. Simulation results show that the proposed method decreases the impact of partial-channel response and computational complexity obviously with gaining an approximative performance compared with traditional subcarrier allocation method at the same time.
