Research on Diesel Engine Energy Saving and Emission Reduction Based on Air System and NOx Virtual Sensor Model

As of the beginning of 2017, the number of motor vehicles in our country exceeded 300 million. Motor vehicle emissions are one of the most important sources of atmospheric haze. Therefore, vehicle emissions and energy consumption have always been important research directions for emission reduction and energy saving. In this paper, IOC (intake oxygen concentration) observer and feedforward controller of EGR and VGT are designed based on diesel engine air model. NOx virtual sensor model is designed to detect NOx emission as the feedback variable of IOC observer, and achieve the purpose of accurately measuring the amount of NOx, controlling the EGR valve and the VGT blade in real time, reducing the NOx emission of various diesel engines, improving the fuel economy of the engine and reducing the source of the haze, and there is an important reality in this research and the later promotion and social significance.
Evaluation of energy saving and emission reduction performance based on multi-object decision model

Abstract: The indices system for energy saving and emission reduction assessment was built based on the resources and energy consumption, pollutant emissions, utilization, environment protection and harmless disposal.Energy saving and emission reduction of Fujian Province in 2001-2010 was evaluated by applying the entire-array-polygon synthesis illustration method.The results showed that the energy saving and emission reduction performance declined in the sequence of 2010, 2009, 2003, 2002, 2008, 2007, 2004, 2001, 2006 and 2005.Certain progress has been made in the area of waste utilization, environment protection and harmless disposal during 2005-2006.However, energy consumption and pollutant emissions deteriorated significantly as compared with 2001-2004.Since 2007, the energy saving and emission reduction in priority industry and enterprises were strengthened gradually.The results reflected the present status and deficiencies of energy saving and emission reduction in Fujian Province and provided guidance in future energy saving and emissions reduction performance evaluation.
The Effects of Preferential Tax on Energy Saving and Emission Reduction According to Panel Data Modeling of Different Provinces

Abstract: Resource issues in China, especially energy consumption and pollution, are becoming more and more serious because of industrialization and urbanization. Tax as a method for government control of macroeconomics will play an important role in energy conservation and emission reduction. This paper used tax relief data from the State Administration of Taxation, and estimated the efficiency of energy saving and emission reduction using factor analysis methods. Our panel model included the level of economic development, industrial structure, the input intensity of research and development, export dependence, and the rate of tax reliefs, and focused on the effect of the rate of tax reliefs for energy saving and emission reduction. We use the model to explore the relationship between the rate of tax reliefs and efficiency of energy saving, tax reliefs and the efficiency of emission reduction, the rate of tax reliefs and the efficiency of energy saving and emission reduction. According to the VIF test, the model did not have serious multicollinearity. As a whole, the effects between the explanatory variables and the explained variables were consistent with other related articles, and matched the principles of resource and environmental economics. Results demonstrated that, for the overall analysis and regional analysis, there was a positive correlation between the rate of tax reliefs and the efficiency of energy saving and emission reduction. But the degree of confidence of the positive correlation was only 90%, and some were not significant under 90%. In addition, the effect of tax relief on energy saving and emission reduction was not significant under a 95% or 99% degree of confidence. We conclude that preferential tax plays a positive role in the energy saving and emission reduction, but this is limited. This is probably because the preferential tax had some incentive effects but does not result in restriction effects. To give full scope to the preferential tax in energy saving and emission reduction, the government should combine incentive tax policy and binding tax policy.

Abstract: This article analyzes the current energy status and development trends from the perspectives of resources, production and consumption and in the context of implications for the environment and economic and social development, and explores opportunities and challenges for China. The existing issues of energy consumption in China are described in terms of energy efficiency, per capita energy consumption, and corresponding environmental pressure. Along with the air quality impacts of energy consumption on the local, regional and global scale, this paper focuses on SO2 and acid rain caused by energy consumption in the region, greenhouse gases and global warming, and points out that the main causes of regional air environmental issues were low energy intensity and an irrational structure of energy use. The relationship between energy consumption and regional air environment is discussed in terms of energy structure, air pollutant emission and air quality to support the ideas of energy structure adjustment and energy saving under the constraints of socio-economic goals (regional planning indexes) and environmental targets (urban environmental quality standards and total emission controls for air pollutants). Combined with the current policy requirements for energy-saving and emission reduction in China, and based on the experience of developed countries, the corresponding measures and suggestions are proposed to solve the main issues of energy-saving and emission reduction in China. First, regard energy saving and consumption reduction as a long-term strategy to resolve the problems caused by energy consumption. Second, improve legislation and enforcement, and promote management of energy-saving and emission reduction. Third, optimize energy utilization patterns, develop technologies for reducing energy use, and improve energy utilization efficiency. Fourth, set up integrated policies and establish favorable incentive and restraint mechanisms.

Abstract: Energy-saving is an important aspect of sustainable development in China. It affects the realization of China’s sustainable economic development strategy. Cities are important units of the country’s economic development and the effect of cities’ energy saving work will affect national strategic planning. Urban energy saving policy evaluation system is an important tool to measure a city’s energy saving work. It can be divided into pre-implementation evaluation, ongoing evaluation and post-implementation evaluation according to the implementation phase of the evaluation. This paper builds a pre-evaluation index system of urban energy conservation policy using energy saving policy classification and multi-angle evaluation of the integrated program of National 11th and 12th Five-Year Plan for Energy Saving.

Scenario Analysis of Urban Energy Saving and Carbon Emission Reduction Policies: A Case Study of Beijing

Abstract: As the center of human social and economic activities, cities account for approximately 75% of the world's energy consumption and contribute more than 80% of global greenhouse gases (GHGs). Therefore, taking cities as the main place of energy-saving and emission-reduction is of great significance. With Beijing as a case and scenario analysis as the method, this study was conducted to investigate the possible impacts of different development ways on the future energy consumption and carbon emissions. The Long-range Energy Alternatives Planning (LEAP) model is used to simulate a range of pathways and to analyze how they would change the future trends of energy demand, energy structure and carbon emissions from the base year 2007 to 2030. Three scenarios have been designed to describe future energy strategies related to the development of Beijing city, namely the business-as-usual (BAU) scenario, the basic-policy (BP) scenario and the low-carbon (LC) scenario. The results show that under the LC scenario the total energy demand in Beijing is expected to reach 88.61 million metric tons coal equivalent (hereafter Mtce) by 2030, 55.82% and 32.72% lower than the values under the BAU and the BP scenario respectively and the total carbon emissions will also be 62.22% and 40.27% lower than the values under the above two scenarios respectively. In addition, the share of the clean and efficient energy in the final energy consumption mix under LC in 2030 will reach 57.75%, 16.93% and 11.25% higher than that under the BAU and the BP scenario respectively. In terms of energy conservation and emission reduction, the industrial sector will continue to act as the largest contributor under the BP and the LC scenario compared with the BAU scenario, while the building and transport sectors are identified as promising fields for achieving low carbon in Beijing over the next decades. The calculation results show that an integrated package of measures is most effective to save energy and reduce carbon emissions, although it faces the largest challenge to achieve the related targets.
Study on Energy Saving and Emissions Reduction of Thermal Plants in China

Abstract: China is in the process of industrialization and electricity is indispensable for rapid growth. At the same time, the “coal-based” energy structure in China will not change perennially, which means, the development of power industry will be subject to the constraints of resources and environment for a long period of time. Therefore, according to the development of electric power industry, energy saving and emission reduction will be an eternal theme. The first part of this essay is the presentation of current situation and achievements. The second part, we summarize five most significant problems existed in current situation. According to the deficiency, we provide improvement measures and suggestions from seven aspects including structure adjustment, internal management, market means and legal system, etc, in order to promote the energy saving and reduce emission smoothly and successfully in the thermal plants in China.

Abstract: Este trabajo expone los resultados del estudio realizado a las numerosas vías que existen para el cálculo del factor de emisión de CO2 a nivel mundial. A partir de una amplia búsqueda de información, se obtuvo la metodología propuesta para el cálculo del factor de emisión de CO2 para proyectos de ahorro de energía eléctrica, teniendo en cuenta las particularidades de la matriz energética del país en cuestión. La metodología propuesta es el resultado de las modificaciones realizadas a la metodología ACM 0002, que es la aprobada por la Junta Ejecutiva del Mecanismo de Desarrollo Limpio (MDL). A partir de los datos reales del consumo de combustible para la electricidad en Cuba en los a os 2007 y 2008, se calcula el factor de emisión de CO2, obteniéndose un valor igual a 0,795 y 0,794 t CO2/MWh, respectivamente. Estos resultados evidencian el paulatino desarrollo hacia fuentes de energía mas limpias que se ha realizado en ese periodo en el país, caracterizado por la entrada en funcionamiento de varios emplazamientos de Fuel-oil.This work exposes result of accomplished study to the many manners that exist for the calculation of CO2 emission factor in the world. Latter a ample quest of information, the proposed methodology was obtained for calculation of CO2 emission factor for electric power saving project, taking the particularities of electrical systems into account country. The proposed methodology is results of modifications realized to the methodology ACM 0002, this are the approved in Executive Board of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM). Whit the real data of fuel consumption for the electricity in Cuba in the years 2007 and 2008, CO2 emission factor is calculated, obtained an equal value to 0.795 and 0.794 tCO2/MWh, respectively. These aftermath evidence the gradual development to cleaning sources of energy that success in period at the country, characterized for the entrance in functioning of several Fuel's-oil emplacements.
