Abstract: O experimento foi conduzido na Epagri, Esta o Experimental de Ituporanga, SC, com o objetivo de determinar a época e a densidade de semeadura de Avena strigosa Schreb. (aveia preta) e Lolium multiflorum Lam. (azevém). Os tratamentos foram avaliados por três anos, dispostos num delineamento de blocos casualizados, em parcelas subdivididas com três repeti es. As épocas de semeadura para as duas espécies foram: época 1 - meados de mar o; época 2 - meados de abril; época 3 - meados de maio; época 4 - meados de junho. As densidades de sementes puras viáveis foram: aveia preta, 60, 80 e 100 kg/ha; azevém, 15, 25 e 35 kg/ha. A aveia preta foi menos produtiva e mais precoce que o azevém. Para as duas espécies, n o houve diferen a significativa entre as densidades de semeaduras. A melhor época de implanta o das espécies foi em meados de abril.

Abstract: the experiment was conducted for three years at the epagri, ituporanga experimental station, located on southern brazil (27o 38's, 43o 60'w), to evaluate the best seeding date and density for avena strigosa schreb. and lolium multiflorum lam. at the alto vale do itajaí region. the experimental design was based on randomized blocks, with subdivided plots and three replicates. time treatments were: t1 = middle of march; t2 = middle of april; t3 = middle of may; t4 = middle of june. densities for a. strigosa were 60, 80 and 100 kg/ha and for lolium multiflorum, 15, 25 and 35 kg/ha. results showed a. strigosa less productive but more precocious that lolium multiflorum, but no significant differences were observed on seeding density. the best time for seeding both species was april.

Abstract: the ingestive behavior of beef heifers when submitted to different energy supplementation levels was evaluated. heifers grazing italian ryegrass (lolium multiflorum lam.) and black oat (avena strigosa schreb) pasture, were supplemented with wheat bran, supplied daily at 2 p.m. at levels of 0; 0.5; 1.0; 1.5% of live weight. the activities of grazing, rumination, idle and trough permanence, were recorded by visual observation, at a ten minute intervals, in four periods of 24 hours. for each supplementation level were allocated six animals of genetic groups charolais, 3/4charolais/nellore and 5/8nellore/charolais, with eight months of age and 158 kg of initial weight. supplemented animals reduced grazing time, compared with no supplemented animals, without changing estimated pasture consumption. animals supplemented at 1.5% of live weight, spent longer time at trough and showed a higher visiting frequency. the supplementation levels did not interfere in rumination and idle times.

Abstract: O objetivo do estudo foi avaliar os efeitos da aduba o nitrogenada e da irriga o por aspers o no crescimento e na produ o de massa seca (MS) da aveia preta (Avena strigosa Schreb). Foram avaliadas quatro doses de nitrogênio (0, 50, 100 e 150 kg de N ha-1) e, também, a presen a ou ausência de irriga o. Foram determinadas as seguintesvariáveis: altura de planta, produ o de massa seca, taxa de crescimento e o teor de MS. Quando irrigada, a altura da planta foi maior, refletindo maior produ o de massa seca. Na área de sequeiro, o teor de MS foi superior (24,7%) ao da área irrigada (18,7%). Quanto à aduba o nitrogenada, houve resposta somente para altura de planta, com comportamento linear, quando da utiliza o de irriga o. Os efeitos da irriga o foram mais determinantes para a produ o da aveia preta que a aduba o nitrogenada. The objective of the study was assessing the effect of the nitrogen and the aspersion irrigation on the growth and dry matter yield of black oats (Avena strigosa Schreb). The experiment was conducted in the Campus of USP in Pirassununga, S o Paulo State. In the study were evaluated four nitrogen levels (0, 50, 100 and 150 kg of N ha-1) and also the presence or absence of the irrigation. The plant variablesevaluated were: mean height, dry matter percentage, yield and growth rate. The results had disclosed to greater height of plant in the irrigated condition, reflecting in the higher production of dry matter. In dry land area, percentage of DM was 24.7% and in irrigatedarea 18.7%. The nitrogen was significantly only for plant mean height that showed linear fit when carried through the irrigation. The effect of the irrigation was better for the production of black oats than nitrogen.
Agronomic performance of black oat (Avena strigosa Schreb.), cultivated in constructed wetlands  [cached]

Abstract: This work aimed to evaluate the agronomic performance of black oat (Avena strigosa Schreb.), when cultived in constructed wetlands (CWs) in the treatment of domestic wastewater. The experiment was conducted in four CWs for secondary/tertiary treatment of domestic wastewater. The black oats were sown in the CWs at a density of 80 kg ha-1 of seeds. The organic loading rates (OLRs) applied in the CWs were 100, 200, 400 and 600 kg ha-1 d-1 of biochemical oxygen demand (BOD). The OLRs were obtained from results of analysis of BOD influent the CWs. The variables evaluated in influent and effluent of CWs were biochemical oxygen demand, chemical oxygen demand, total nitrogen, total phosphorus, potassium, sodium and electrical conductivity. In plant tissue the productivity of dry matter and the content of crude protein were evaluated. The productivity of dry matter for black oats were independent of OLRs applied. The highest yield of dry matter was obtained by applying 400 kg.ha-1 d-1 BOD. There was an average productivity of crude protein of 15.38 dag kg-1 in the black oat. The domestic wastewater can be a suitable nutritional solution for production of black oats in the CWs.
Avalia o do desempenho animal e do pasto na mistura aveia IAPAR 61 (Avena strigosa Schreb) e ervilha forrageira (Pisum arvense L.) manejada em diferentes alturas

Abstract: O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar o efeito de diferentes alturas (8,9; 10,0; 11,3; 11,9; 13,4; 13,6; 14,7; e 18,3 cm) na mistura de aveia cv IAPAR 61 (Avena strigosa Schreb) + ervilha forrageira (Pisum arvense L.) sobre o ganho médio diário (GMD), o ganho de peso vivo (GPV/ha), número de animais.dia, composi o botanica, resíduo de MS e porcentagem de solo descoberto. Utilizaram-se novilhos nelore, em pastejo, com lota es variáveis. As alturas do pasto foram mantidas usando-se o disco medidor, com ajustes de carga animal, semanalmente. O GMD variou de 0,497 a 1,017 kg/animal/dia, nas alturas de 8,9 e 18,3 cm, respectivamente, apresentando efeito linear em fun o do aumento da altura do pasto. N o houve efeito das alturas do pasto no GPV/ha e número de animais.dia/ha. O GPV/ha oscilou entre 127 e 356 kg/ha a 8,92 e 18,3 cm do pasto, a lota o variou de 184 à 424 animais.dia/ha nas alturas de 14,7 e 10,0 cm, respectivamente. O nível de resíduo de matéria seca/ha aumentou linearmente com o incremento da altura do pasto, na pastagem avaliada pelo método de DISCO. A aveia permaneceu dominante na composi o botanica do pasto representando 99,69%, enquanto que a ervilha contribuiu com 0,31% da mesma. A percentagem de solo descoberto foi decrescente à medida que se aumentou a altura do pasto. Esses resultados evidenciam que resíduos de MS superior a 18 cm s o importantes para o desempenho animal e para a produ o da pastagem.

Abstract: O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar o efeito das alturas (8,9; 10,0; 11,2; 11,8; 13,3; 13,6; 14,6; 18,2 cm) de pastos consorciados de aveia IAPAR 61 (Avena strigosa Schreb cv IAPAR 61) com ervilha forrageira (Pisum arvense L.) sob pastejo sobre a rela o folha/colmo (F/C), os teores de proteína bruta (PB), fibra em detergente neutro (FDN) e fibra em detergente ácido (FDA) e a digestibilidade in vitro da matéria seca (DIVMS) e da matéria organica (DIVMO). O delineamento experimental usado foi o inteiramente casualizado, com duas repeti es. A rela o F/C n o foi influenciada pela altura do pasto, porém apresentou comportamento quadrático com o avan o na maturidade do pasto. Os teores de PB apresentaram comportamento quadrático ao longo do período experimental, devido à intera o entre altura do pasto e o tempo. Os teores de FDN e FDA mostraram um comportamento quadrático ao longo do período experimental, ocorrendo uma diminui o dos mesmos quando as plantas se apresentavam mais baixas e, uma eleva o, quando as plantas estavam mais altas, isto ocorreu em fun o da intera o das variáveis tempo e altura. A DIVMS e a DIVMO tiveram incrementos lineares em fun o do aumento da altura do pasto, porém com comportamento quadrático no tempo (dias) em todas as alturas, sendo mais elevadas nas alturas intermediárias do pasto.

Abstract: this experiment was carried out in the arenito soil of the cidade gaúcha county, northwest paraná in brazil, in which 0, 150, 300, 450 and 600 m3 ha-1 of wastewater were applied onto soil and the crop yield and soil chemistry were investigated for lopsided oat (avena strigosa schreb.) plants. the crop yield from the control was 2818 kg ha-1 contrasting 3629 kg ha-1 when 300 m3 ha-1 of cassava wastewater were applied, and potassium, after haversting, was the only nutrient found in a higher concentration in the soil profile.

Abstract: this work aimed to evaluate the health quality of black oat seeds (avena strigosa schreb.) produced in the rio grande do sul state, brazil. 81 seed lots from 16 different countries were evaluated. blotter test was used based with 400 seeds by lot. the fungi detected in the seeds were: alternaria sp., chaetomium sp.,cladosporium sp., colletotrichum sp., curvularia sp., epicoccum sp., nigrospora sp., colletotrichum sp., fusarium sp. and the storage fungi aspergillus sp.and penicillium sp. were detected. the highest mean incidence was observed to phoma sp. and bipolaris spp. with 18.4 and 22.4%, respectively. it was concluded that it must be taken a best management of this forage to reduce seed contamination.

Abstract: the experiment was carried out in the brazilian association of biodynamic agriculture, botucatu - s?o paulo, brazil. the aim of the work was to evaluate the productivity of corn (zea mays l.), variety al 30, in sequence with black oat (avena strigosa schreb.) under leucaena diversifolia alley cropping agroforestry system and traditional management (without trees) following a randomized block design. treatments were: t - control; f - fertilizer; b - biomass of l. diversifolia alley cropping; b+f - biomass of l. diversifolia alley cropping + fertilizer. the parameters evaluated were: black oat dry matter production, grain productivity and plant height. the results were similar to those reported by other authors and concluded that both systems showed viability from the productive point of view and that the biomass use can substitute the chemical fertilizer partially or totally.
