De la critique, une critique. Sur le geste radical de Luc Boltanski.
Joan Stavo-Debauge
EspacesTemps.net , 2011,
The economic sociology of late capitalism: The Contributions from Boltanski, Thévenot and Chiapello  [cached]
Jacob Dahl Rendtorff
Nordicum-Mediterraneum , 2012,
Abstract: Together with his colleagues Laurent Thévenot and Eve Chiapello, Luc Boltanski has written two books on the economic sociology of late capitalist society: De la justification. Les economies de la grandeur (1991; Paris: Gallimard; On Justification. The economics of worth) with the economist Thévenot from the Paris convention school and Le Nouvel Esprit du capitalism (The New Spirit of Capitalism) with Chiapello (1996; Paris: Gallimard). Together these books propose an economic sociology and analysis of the ethics of capitalism that we will briefly discuss and in this paper.
Emancipation. From Introvert to Extrovert Critique  [PDF]
Rasmus Willig
Advances in Applied Sociology (AASoci) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/aasoci.2014.47023
Abstract: The article argues that the so-called life-coaches can be seen as exponents of the ongoing institutionali- zation of the introverted criticism that apparently leads to more self-criticism and to a feeling of failure rather than to an actual extroverted criticism of the structural conditions of society. Thus, the hypothesis is that the inner work with the resources of the self is so exhausting that it leads to a mental breakdown. The self becomes so exhausted that if it should make up its mind to criticize the structural conditions of society; the critique will be dismantled beforehand. But what then can be understood by the strong concept of “emancipation” today? In line with Critical Theory’s model for emancipation, the article suggests that the historical alternative for our time consists in the liberation of the extroverted criticism. An actual and radical liberation of the possibilities for practicing criticism—that is, a democratization and establishment of a critical culture—is the moral potential for development, which must be promoted to pave the way for any future emancipatory movements.

O n?o reconhecimento sistemático e a prática da crítica: Bourdieu, Boltanski e o papel da teoria crítica
Celikates, Robin;
Novos Estudos - CEBRAP , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-33002012000200004
Abstract: the "pragmatic turn'" proposed by boltanski and others should not lead us to abandon the project of critical theory, as if all necessary criticism were already articulated within everyday practices of critique. the reflective capacities of "ordinary" actors and their practices of justification and critique, which are convincingly reconstructed by the sociology of critique, constitute the social and methodological basis of critical theory. however, this should not lead us to attribute an epistemic authority to the perspective of the participants that is immune to being put into question from a theoretically informed point of view.
De la critique en mode pragmatique.

EspacesTemps.net , 2011,
Bruno Latour, actor-networks, and the critique of critical sociology  [PDF]
Spasi? Ivana
Filozofija i Dru?tvo , 2007, DOI: 10.2298/fid0702043s
Abstract: The paper analyzes the theoretical opus of Bruno Latour and his treatment of the concept of critique. In the first section "actor-network theory" is presented through its key notions (actant, network, translation, associations) together with Latour’s theory of modernity. In the second section various aspects of the relation between Latour and critique are discussed - first his own criticism of others (standard sociology and especially "critical", i.e. Bourdieu’s sociology), then the criticisms aimed at his work, to conclude with the political ambivalences of Latour’s attempt to develop an "acritical" social theory. .
