Abstract: This paper wants to carry out an analytical description of the use of Greek mercenaries in the East, from King’s Peace of 386 BC. In a new international world-system based on multilateral relations, Athens employed a shadow force of mercenaries in order to support the enemies of its allied powers, no matter if they were Sparta or Persia. Taking this example into mind, the radical improvements in war strategy along the IV century, as well as the high complexity of the international relations in the East, made such soldiers become an essential tool for any Ancient state with hegemonic aspirations. Este artículo pretende llevar a cabo un análisis sobre el uso de mercenarios griegos en Oriente a partir de la Paz del Rey en 386 a.C. En un nuevo marco internacional refrendado por un pacto multilateral, Atenas utilizó a mercenarios con la finalidad de prestar apoyo, sin representar oficialmente a la ciudad, a enemigos de otras potencias en teoría aliadas como Esparta o Persia. El estudio concluye que la sofisticación de las relaciones internacionales junto al desarrollo de la técnica y estrategia bélica en el siglo IV a.C, potenció el uso de este tipo de soldado, convirtiéndolo así en una herramienta fundamental para cualquier estado con aspiraciones hegemónicas.

Abstract: En este articulo se exponen los resultados del estudio planteado con el objetivo de identificar las motivaciones que impulsan a las Termas de Porto y Norte a implantar y certificar un Sistema de Gestión de Calidad (SGC), conocer los beneficios que perciben que obtendrían de dicha implantación, así como analizar el grado de madurez en la gestión de la calidad de las mismas en la actualidad. Para ello se llevó a cabo un análisis descriptivo en las Termas ubicadas en la Región Turística de Porto-Norte, perteneciente a la Asociación Termas de Portugal (ATP), con una población objeto de estudio de 12 Termas activas. Los resultados obtenidos indican que las motivaciones más importantes que impulsarían a las Termas a implantar un SGC son motivaciones internas (crear una conciencia de calidad, mejorar el control y la eficiencia, mejorar los procedimientos internos y la calidad de los servicios), siendo los principales beneficios que esperan obtener una clara definición de procesos y responsabilidades, incremento de la conciencia de calidad de los empleados y la mejora de la satisfacción del cliente. En los factores críticos analizados las Termas presentan un grado de implantación superior al 70%, a excepción de mejora continua. Este trabajo tienen importantes implicaciones para los directivos de las Termas, ya que proporciona los puntos fuertes y áreas de mejora en el ámbito de la calidad, detectándose la necesidad de mejora en determinados aspectos relacionados con la gestión de los empleados y la mejora continuada. This paper presents the results of the study presented in order to identify the motivations that drive to the Thermal de Porto y Norte to implement and certify a Quality Management System (QMS), knowing that the perceived benefits would obtain from this implementation as well to analyze the degree of maturity in managing their quality today. This was carried out an descriptive analysis the Thermal located in the tourist area of Porto and North belonging to the Association Thermal de Portugal (ATP), with a population under study Thermal from 12 active. The results indicate that the most important motivations that drive to the Health Resorts to implement a Quality Management System are internal motivations (create an awareness of quality, improve control and efficiency, improve internal procedures and quality services), the main benefits they expect to get a clear definition of responsibilities and processes, increased quality awareness of employees and improved customer satisfaction. Abstract: The roman baths at Sant Boi de Llobregat were built sometime around the year 200 BC and came to light in 1953. They are some of the best baths of this type to be found preserved in Catalonia. Some of the walls are almost five meters high, which is rare. There were originally seven rooms, and interesting remains of six of them can still be seen today. The baths were virtually abandoned in 1975, but restoration began in 1988, including the construction of a building to protect them and to enable the public to visit them. The design of the presentation trusts entirely to the emotion felt on seeing these ruins at first hand, and other elements, such as audio-visual effects or virtual reality, have been rejected. Las termas romanas de Sant Boi de Llobregat, construidas hacia el a o 200 dC y descubiertas en 1953, son una de las instalaciones de este tipo mejor conservadas de Catalu a. Algunos de los muros alcanzan casi cinco metros, hecho poco habitual, y se mantienen seis de las siete salas de las que constaron, con restos muy interesantes. Casi abandonadas desde 1975, en 1988 se inició su recuperación definitiva y la construcción de un edificio que las protegiera y permitiera la visita pública. En su presentación se ha confiado toda la emoción del espectador a la contemplación directa de las ruinas y se ha renunciado a artificios, como audiovisuales efectistas o realidad virtual.

Abstract: The degenerate free Fermi gas coupled to a random potential is used to compute a.c. conductivity in various dimensions. We first formally diagonalise the hamiltonian using an appropriate basis that is a functional of the disorder potential. Then we compute the a.c. conductivity at zero temperature using the Kubo formula. This a.c. conductivity is a functional of the disordered potential. The wavefunction of extended states is written as exponential of the logarithm. We use the cumulant expansion to compute the disordered averaged a.c. conductivity for Gaussian disorder. The formula is valid if a certain linearization approximation is valid in the long-wavelength limit.

Abstract: Erasistratus de Ceos (310-250 a.C.) es considerado uno de los precursores del estudio e investigación en el área anatómica, realizando las primeras disecciones junto con Herophilus su maestro, fundador de las Escuelas de Medicina y Anatomía de Alejandría. Realizó importantes aportes en el estudio y ense anza de la neuroanatomía, entre otras disciplinas anatómicas. Erasistratus of Ceos (310-250 b.C) is considered one of the precursors of study and research in the anatomical área, doing the first dissections along with Herophilus, their teacher, founder of the Schools of Medicine and Anatomy of Alexandría. He made important contributions in the study and teaching of neuroanatomy, among other anatomical disciplines.

Abstract: Polyaniline was prepared in different acidic medium at room temperatuer. The out put of polymerization was characterization by FT-IR. The A.C electrical properties were studied. A.C conductivity σac(ω) is found to vary as ωs in the frequency range (100Hz-10MH), the value of (S) was found to be less than unity (S<1), the dielectric constant (ε1) and dielectric loss (ε2) have been determined for bulk polyaniline. Both (ε1) and (ε2) decrease with the increase of the frequency.

Abstract: The division between domi/rider reverses with a palm and armed militiae/rider in (Celt)iberian currency leads us to establish a link between certain mints and military camps. An example of this can be found in the Ikale (n) sken denarii, which must be related to the troops sent in the direction of Córdoba by Kese, in support of Sertorius (97-93 B.C.). The Sekobirikes denarii, on the other hand, were the coins used by the troops of Sekaisa while in the territory of the Arevaci with T. Didius and V. Flaccus (98-92 B.C.), and all of the bronze Catalan series corresponds with the start of the Bellum Sociale (90 B.C.). During the second century B.C., Rome waged war in Hispania on the invitation of cities such as Osca, Turiasu or Segeda-Sekaisa, which were threatened by powerful enemies. In the period of Marius the (Celt)iberian armies adopted a Roman approach to warfare. All of the (Celt)iberian currency was minted between the years 107 and 90 B.C., and as such it reflects not the Roman conquest of Hispania, but the formation of a Hispanic branch of the Roman army. La división entre reversos domi/jinete con palma y militiae/jinete armado en la moneda (celt)ibérica permite afi rmar que algunas cecas hispanas se corresponden con campamentos militares. Así, los denarios Ikale(n)sken deben ponerse en relación con las tropas enviadas por Kese hacia Córdoba en apoyo de Sertorio (97-93 a.C.). Los denarios Sekobirikes, por su parte, son las monedas de las tropas de Sekaisa en territorio arévaco con T. Didio y V. Flaco (98-92 a.C.). Abstract: O objetivo deste trabalho foi determinar as melhores condi es e períodos de armazenamento para conserva o da viabilidade e vigor das sementes de Amburana cearensis (Allem o) A.C. Smith. O experimento foi instalado no Laboratório de Análise de Sementes (CCA - UFPB), seguindo-se um delineamento inteiramente ao acaso, cujos tratamentos constituíram-se de sementes acondicionadas em três tipos de embalagens (saco de papel Kraft, saco de pano de algod o e embalagem de papel alumínio); armazenadas em dois ambientes: ambiente de laboratório ± 25°C e 74,5% UR e geladeira 6 ± 2°C e 38% ± 3 UR), durante 270 dias. As características avaliadas foram: teor de água, porcentagem e índice de velocidade de emergência, comprimento e massa seca de plantulas. Após 270 dias de armazenamento a emergência das plantulas de A. cearensis acondicionadas na embalagem de papel alumínio e armazenadas em laboratório foi de 68%. A emergência e o vigor das sementes de A. cearensis s o conservados, com eficiência, em todos os ambientes e embalagens por 90 dias e no ambiente de laboratório na embalagem de alumínio por 180 dias This work aimed to determine the best conditions and storage periods adapted to conservation of seed vigor for Amburana cearensis (Allem o) A.C. Smith. The experiment was conducted at the Laboratory of Analysis of Seeds (CCA/UFPB), using an entirely randomized design. The treatments consisted of A. cearensis seeds packaged in: paper Kraft bags, bags of cotton and foil aluminum, two storage conditions: room temperature and humidity conditions and refrigerator for 270 days. The evaluated characteristics were: moisture content, percentage of emergence and emergence speed index (ESI), seedling length, and seedling dry matter. After 270 days of storage the emergence of A. cearensis seedlings of conditioned in aluminum packing and stored at laboratory was of 68%. The emergency and the vigor of A. cearensis seeds are conserved, with efficiency, in all the storage conditions and packings for 90 days; and under environmental conditions in packing of aluminum for 180 days.

Abstract: Frequency and temperature dependence of a.c. electrical conductivity of layered mixed ionic alkali trititanates, Na1.89Li0.10K0.01Ti3O7, Na1.88Li0.10K0.02Ti3O7, Na1.86Li0.10K0.04Ti3O7, and Na1.85Li0.10K0.05Ti3O7, have been investigated over a wide temperature 350?K 725?K and frequency 10?kHz to 1?MHz range. For this, Arrhenius plots are used for a.c. electrical conductivity of these compounds. The obtained conductivity plots have been divided into four distinct regions and discussed the relevant theory. According to slop variation, the conduction mechanisms occurring are different in different temperature regions. At lower temperatures, the hopping electron disorders the surroundings by moving to its neighboring Ti atoms from their equilibrium positions, causing structural defect in the polycrystalline network named small polaron. At higher temperatures, associated/unassociated interlayer ionic conduction occurs along with the alkali ions hopping through the interlayer space and electron hopping (small polaron) conduction through Ti–Ti chains in these layered polar alkali titanates. 1. Introduction Sodium trititanate (Na2Ti3O7) is a member of alkali metal titanates (A = alkali metal and ) family [1–5] whose crystal structure was first reported by Anderson and Wadsley [4]. Yakubovich and Kireev [6] refined its crystal structure with monoclinic unit-cell dimensions = 9.1332(2)? , = 3.806(1)? , = 8.556(2)? , β = 101.57(3)°, and space group = . The basic framework of Na2Ti3O7 is built up by three TiO6 octahedra-sharing edges at one level, and these units are joined to similar blocks above and below by additional edge sharing that forms zigzag strings. These strings form a layered structure with the compositions of six (Ti3O7)2? like a two-dimensional sheet centered on the (100) plane. The interlayer spaces of layered inorganic solids are suitable for constructing well-organized molecular assemblies through intercalation [7, 8]. Layered titanates are gorgeous host materials for such purposes due to their semiconducting [9, 10] and ion exchange properties [11–16]. Investigations on photo-induced electron transfer between titanate sheets and rare earth ions [15] and methyl viologen [12] are also available. These layered structured titanates are a kind of typical complex oxides and studied extensively as ion exchangers [17–20].
