Abstract: — Modern software systems are increasingly requiredto be open and distributed. Such systems are open not only interms of network connections and interoperability support forheterogeneous hardware and software platforms, but, above all, interms of evolving and changing requirements. Althoughobject-oriented technology offers some relief, to a large extent thelanguages, methods and tools fail to address the needs of opensystems because they do not escape from traditional models ofsoftware development that assume system requirements to beclosed and stable. In this paper we have discussed that opensystems requirements can only be adequately addressed byadopting a component oriented as opposed to a purelyobject-oriented software development approach, by shiftingemphasis away from programming and towards generalizedsoftware composition.
A Component-Based Software Configuration Management Model and Its Supporting System

Abstract: Software configuration management (SCM) is an important key technology in software development. Component-based software development (CBSD) is an emerging paradigm in software development. However, to apply CBSD effectively in real world practice, supporting SCM in CBSD needs to be further investigated. In this paper, the objects that need to be managed in CBSD is analyzed and a component-based SCM model is presented. In this model, components, as the integral logical constituents in a system, are managed as the basic configuration items in SCM, and the relationships between/among components are defined and maintained. Based on this model, a configuration management system is implemented. This paper is supported by the National ‘863’ High-Tech Programme and the National Natural Science Foundation of China under Grant Nos.863-306-ZT02-02-2 and 60043002. It also gets support from the National Excellent Young Scientists Foundation. MEI Hong is a professor in computer science at Peking University. He received his Ph.D. degree from Shanghai Jiaotong University in 1992. His research interests include software engineering and CASE tool, software reuse, software component technology, and distributed object technology. YANG Fuqing is a professor in computer science at Peking University and a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. She graduated from the Graduate School of Peking University in 1958. Her research interests include operating systems, software engineering, CASE environment, software reuse and objectoriented technology.

Abstract: Combining component & connector architecture descriptionlanguageswithcomponentbehaviormodelinglanguages enables modeling great parts of software architectures platformindependently. Nontrivial systems typically contain components with programming language behavior descriptions to interface with APIs. These components tie the complete software architecture to a specific platform and thus hamper reuse. Previous work on software architecture reuse with multiple platforms either requires platform-specific handcrafting or the effort of explicit platform models. We present an automated approach to transform platform-independent, logical software architectures into architectures with platform-specific components. This approach introduces abstract components to the platform-independent architecture and refines the se with components specific to the target platform prior to code generation. Consequently, a single logical software architecture model can be reused with multiple target platforms, which increases architecture maturity and reduces the maintenance effort of multiple similar software architectures.

Abstract: Along with the information construction deeply developed in astronautic field, more and more spacecraft test and experiment systems are constructed. On the one hand, they show their function very well, on the other hand, they bring “information island”, which brings more difficulties for the information application integration in aerospace field. On the basis of analyzing this situation, with the component technology, this paper brings out the Spacecraft Integration Test Platform Based on Component (SITPOC), whose aim is to satisfy the new requirements of spacecraft integration test by encapsulating legacy resource and developing new application system in component technology, and describes the function of every layer. Finally, through constructing the integration test database system, the expansibility and the reliability for the integration of the information system in space field are pointed out.

Abstract: In order to solve the question of custom design of ICT control software,it is presented a way of developing control software based on component technology.And the hardware architecture of ICT control system is analyzed.The component clustering for ICT control software is designed.According to Foundation Fieldbus' defining,it is presented architecture of function component and analyzed component configuration.Using COM component technology,the de- signing of component and development of ICT control software are accomplished.The practice application shows com- ponent technology can solve the question of custom design of ICT control software effectively.

Abstract: To promote embedded software development, a component-based model of embedded software platform, which is called CBMESP, is presented in this paper. CBMESP can apply to a variety of embedded domains by replacing components in its component database; and software developers are able to customize their software platform by selecting components and setting parameters of components. In addition, the component model of CBMESP consists of three parts that can be implemented and executed independently, so it can save memory resource of embedded system and be suitable to the cross development process of the embedded software At the end of this paper, an example demonstrates these features of CBMESP.

Abstract: Software Configuration Management is useful to the management of whole development team.This paper introduces definition of software configuration management and tools of software configuration management.This paper also introduces version control process and change control process of the development of PI3000 platform.A tool of codes check out and check in based on XML is designed and implemented.Configuration management is becoming fast and exact using this tool.This tool is used with defect management system.The results of application show that this tool is useful to the work of configuration management in the development of PI3000 platform.

Abstract: In order to implement a virtual and universal Component Assembly Runtime (CAR) platform on multi operating systems, the characteristics of the Elastos operating system and CAR technology were analysed, and the hierarchical model of ElAura component runtime platform was presented. Then the implementation of key techniques was described in detail. Based on ElAura, a binary component could be distributed independently and run properly on any operation system or software platform.

Abstract: Ocean information management is of great importance as it has been employed in many areas of ocean science and technology. However, the developments of Ocean Information Systems(OISs) often suffer from low efficiency because of repetitive work and continuous modifications caused by dynamic requirements. In this paper, the basic requirements of OISs are analyzed first, and then a novel platform DPOI is proposed to improve development efficiency and enhance software quality of OISs by providing off-the-shelf resources. In the platform, the OIS is decomposed hierarchically into a set of modules, which can be reused in different system developments. These modules include the acquisition middleware and data loader that collect data from instruments and files respectively, the database that stores data consistently, the components that support fast application generation, the web services that make the data from distributed sources syntactical by use of predefined schemas and the configuration toolkit that enables software customization. With the assistance of the development platform, the software development needs no programming and the development procedure is thus accelerated greatly. We have applied the development platform in practical developments and evaluated its efficiency in several development practices and different development approaches. The results show that DPOI significantly improves development efficiency and software quality
