Abstract: L’ uvre de Claude Lévi-Strauss porte la trace de ses voyages en compagnie de Pierre Monbeig dans les franges pionnières de l’état de S o Paulo, par les termes utilisés mais aussi par des observations qui préfigurent ses travaux dans les sociétés indigènes de régions plus reculées. Parmi celles-ci, la recherche de structures sociales et spatiales sous-jacentes, traduite sous forme graphique, annonce un autre géographe, Roger Brunet Claude Lévi-Strauss travelled with Pierre Monbeig in the pioneer fringes of S o Paulo state: evidences of those trips can be found in his work, in the words he uses but also in observations announcing future researches in indigenous societies, located further inland. Amongst those, the quest for underlying social and spatial structures, expressed in graphical form, seems to be forerunners of the work of another geographer, Roger Brunet.

Abstract: The article discusses how the french geographer Pierre Monbeig elaborated the theme of bandeirante psychology as a fundamental feature in the zones of colonization of S o Paulo and Paraná during the 30 and the 40'. In that context, when Estado Novos intellectuals were also using the image of the bandeirante to create a link with the past and justify the government migratory and land policies, Monbeig redefined that traditional figure in anti-authoritarian and individualistic terms. Discute-se como o geógrafo francês Pierre Monbeig elaborou a temática da psicologia bandeirante, por ele considerada um componente fundamental da forma o das zonas de coloniza o paulistas e paranaenses, nos anos 30 e 40. Tratou-se de um momento singular no contexto das numerosas apropria es da figura dos bandeirantes feitas durante aquele período. Isto porque, longe de endossar a-criticamente a constru o daquele personagem pelos intelectuais estadonovistas, Monbeig retomou-o a partir de uma ótica anti-autoritária e individualista.

Abstract: Este artigo destaca as contribui es de Pierre Monbeig para a reflex o contemporanea acerca do valor do ensino de geografia na educa o escolar. Discute aproxima es entre estas contribui es e outras tendências que também abordam a importancia da escola e o valor do ensino de geografia para a forma o do pensamento crítico e o desenvolvimento das fun es intelectuais de futuras gera es. Destaca a rela o que o próprio autor estabelece entre suas concep es de geografia e de ensino, as quais permanecem centrais no debate contemporaneo sobre as perspectivas da ciência geográfica diante dos dilemas que envolvem a forma o do geógrafo e professor de geografia. Assinala a preocupa o com a qualidade tanto do ensino de geografia quanto da forma o do professor. Aponta ainda a necessidade de supera o do isolamento existente entre a forma o do geógrafo e a do professor de geografia, devido à tendência de expans o de cursos de licenciatura, com variadas cargas horárias e estruturas curriculares, que, em geral, n o tem assegurado o pleno domínio do pensamento científico e acadêmico do professor de geografia, n o sem efeitos negativos na forma o dos estudantes da escolariza o básica e também na difus o do valor e da importancia do trabalho do geógrafo na sociedade. Pierre Monbeig is still present and the right of learning Geography Abstract: This article highlights Pierre Monbeig’s contributions in order to think about the contemporary value of teaching Geography in school. It discusses the similarities between those contributions and other trends that also deals with the importance of studying and the value of teaching Geography not only to the formation of future generations’ critical thinking but also to the development of their intellectual functions. It stands out the relationship that author established between their conceptions of Geography and Education, which remain central to the contemporary debate on the expectations of Geographical science when facing dilemmas involving the formation of the geographer and the Geography teacher too. It presents concernment to the quality of teaching Geography and that one of training Geography teachers. It reinforces the need to overcome the isolation that still exists between both the geographer and Geography teacher’s formation, due to the tendency of expanding courses degree, with varied workloads and curricular structures, which in general has not assured Geography teachers who works at school to completely master scientific and academic thinking, causing negative effects on regular students’ schooling proces

Abstract: the postlarval development of nicolea uspiana (nogueira, 2003), a small intertidal terebellid polychaete from rocky habitats on the southeastern and southern brazilian coast, was studied based on postlarval, juvenile and adult specimens. the specimens, ranging from 8 to 43 segments, were collected between may 2006 and may 2007. the youngest postlarval specimen was found crawling outside of the tube. in specimens at different stages of growth, the number of ocelli and tentacles increased; the first pair of nephridial papillae appeared early (before 8-segmented specimen), and the second and third pairs appeared later (31-segmented specimen); the circulatory system only developed when the first pair of branchial bulbs arose (32-segmented specimen), and the second branchial pair appeared later (40-segmented specimen); and the inversion of the uncini positions in some rows occurred in the transition from larva to juvenile (17-segmented specimen). in the course of development, segments 2-3 lost the notochaetae, and segments 3-4 lost the neurochaetae. the changes involved in the development from postlarval to adult animals are illustrated by sem micrographs and photographs.
