1968 A referência da revolu o 1968: The revolution reference  [cached]
Waldenyr Caldas
Liberdade. Sociedade. Estado. Revolu o. Psicodélico. The year of 1968 has become, throughout time, a kind of reference to the great transformations that occurred in the decades of 1960 and 1970. Some time before, however, in the 1950’s, in the US, a young movement appeared. They were known as the beat generation, which main representatives were Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, and others. It was a group of intellectual young men that brought, through the literature and art, a life style and different behavior from the pragmatic and commercialized universe of the American society. Together with the rock’n’roll, also from that moment, the youth had conditions to engender a big behavior revolution, that later was known as the movement of counterculture, of the hippies and of the psychedelic culture. From that moment on, the bases for all that would yet come in the 1960’s and 1970’s was launched. Those decades were revolutionary; a time when the youth did not prevaricated about the right of tracing its own destiny. The greatest goal was to insure what the man has as a precious gift: the freedom and the fight against the behavior asphyxia imposed by the establishment. Keywords:Counterculture. Politics. Freedom. Society. State. Revolution. Psychedelic.

Population dynamics of the Kaminuriak caribou herd, 1968 - 1985
Douglas C. Heard,George W. Calef
Rangifer , 1986,
Abstract: The Kaminuraik caribou herd apparently declined from about 120 000 animals in 1950 to 63 000 in 1968. Beginning in 1968 documentation of herd trend was based on the estimate of the number of breeding (pregnant and post-partum) females on the calving ground during the birth peak. It appeared as if we understood the basic population processes responsible for the decline when we correctly predicted a drop from 14 800 breeding females in 1977 to 13 000 in 1980. However a three-fold increase, to 41 000 breeding females in 1982, and continued growth thereafter, was unanticipated. Most of that increase must have resulted from an immigration of cows to the herd's traditional calving ground around Kaminuriak Lake, although increased birth rates, and increased survival rates also contributed to herd growth. Immigrant cows probably came from the northeastern mainland of the NWT
Investigations of the Aftershocks of July 4, 1968 Earthquake in Epidavros
J. C. DRAKOPOULOS,H. N. SHRIVASTAVA
Annals of Geophysics , 1970, DOI: 10.4401/ag-5139
Abstract: The spatial and tlie time distribution of the aftershocks of the earthquake of July 1968 in Epidavros (Greece) has been studied. It was found that the value of b in Gutenberg-Richter's relationship was nearly the same for the primary as well as the secondary or second order aftershocks of the sequence. The focal mechanism of the second order aftershocks as observed from the sense of first motion of P-waves showed some difference from that of the main shock or its primary aftershock.

European Journal of American Studies , 2008, DOI: 10.4000/ejas.7193
Abstract: 1. The Rise of Conservatism and the “Frustrated Hawks”Although the 1960s are generally remembered as a decade of leftist protest and demands for radical change, and the year 1968 as a time of rebellion in the streets, this period has also begun to be recognized as a key moment in the emergence of the modern conservative movement, which Bruce and Laurie see as the “central story of American politics since World War II.” Historians of conservatism have noted that the modern American conservativ...

The subject of this paper is an analysis of the changes following the tragedy that took place in Mexico 1968. The massacre of some 300 students happened in Tlatelolco during a peaceful protest rally demanding democratic government reform. The writers and journalists Elena Poniatowska (‘Massacre in Mexico’ 1971) and Carlos Monsiváis (‘Days to Remember’ 1970) collated interviews for the claims and counterclaims, plus written and oral statements of what happened in that time of despair and intense emotion. Their work is a major influence in the creation of a modern symbolic moment in Mexican history.

1968-2008: O Veja "Way of Life"
Valle, Maria Ribeiro do;
Intercom: Revista Brasileira de Ciências da Comunica??o , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S1809-58442012000200007
Abstract: the present article approaches, according to our hypothesis, the yellow journalism, characterized by the use of entertainment by veja magazine in reporting the episodes of the student movement - the main movement engaged in the fight against dictatorship - since 1968. we made bibliographic research and a comparative study about the approach of 1998 and 2008's editions. during the celebrations of this unique year, our conclusion is that veja relies more and more on sensationalist elements in order to stain the image of the student movement, which corroborates the view of the culture industry and the society of the spectacle, which focus on the production of a "democratic" youth, i.e., a group that aims at economic success through the right to consume and the maintenance of the current political system.
